Next time I think I will go with ticketmaster. I had better tickets in 2000 at San Diego Sports Arena in my only 2nd year of the membership. Great show but I ended up in the 34th row on the floor. Membership # 185xxx. Please take care of the people that live in the actual city the concert is being played in the future. 34th row?????? Totally bummed right now. I'm 6'3 and I could barely see.

What seats have you gotten at other shows?? Using your ten c number i mean.. That does seem a little off to me... 185xxx getting 34 rows back?.. and i hear all the "be happy to be in the building" people but.. You obviously paid your yearly membership for a reason other than the random newsletters.I mean if this was obviously a shock to you, and you've had better seats before.. why would you not be confused? This seems to be happening to more and more people with lower and lower numbers.I mean if your number got you that far back.. i'd be suprised if my number would even get me a spot in the parking lot  i say that playfully but i'm almost thinking that i'm not far off with that notion. Is it possible the random rows are switching up seniority seating in a big way or something?? I've only noticed being knocked back a couple of rows at worst so far.. which yeah it sucks to think about but was well worth seeing my buddy's face when he "randomly" got front row 8-)

Something to keep in mind is that venues generally have memberships and other random seats they get dibs on first before the ten club can touch them.. I am starting to think that "best seats in the house" are relative to what is available for the taking..

    2000 san diego-15th row floor
2003 san diego-stone's side about 10 rows in 8 rows up
    2003 las vegas-same but on Mike's side
    2006-las vegas-mike's side 5 rows in 5 rows up
2006-san diego-mike's side 1 row in 1 row up against rail (next to some of the bands family)
2009-san diego-about the 34th row on the floor

if you could barely see from 34 rows back you may have bigger problems than what your ten club number is and where you should be

Sorry bud. You are way off there. I am 6'3. On another note what do you have against short people to post something like that?

please feel free to revoke your membership
it is unlikely you would have had better seats through tm

its a limited tour, more 10c members are going to each show
most of your other shows were when the band was doing a much larger tour, had block seating or when there was a one show limit

COUNT on your seats being farther away this time around

and hey, sometime the seats allotted to the 10c, or the way the 10c chooses to distribute them, are not the ones we would prefer (wings vs. floor)

you pays your money and takes you chances 9 times out of 10, 10c is the better option
  • So happy we don't have seats on the floor at Europe shows :D

i've had good seats, i've had bad seats. both are better than having no seats. if i'm in the building, i'm happy. some people expect to be seated on top of Mike's amp. it's ridiculous.

So go with TM from now on. Seems simple to me.

That way people that would give their left arm to be on the floor can have your "shitty " floor seats.

It seems pretty much the only one who feels bad for you ... is you

Should they contact each person and ask them if they would prefer a floor seat or a wing seat?

I loooove floor seats... they give you "access".... it's all a matter of preference

You sound spoiled, jaded and silly

ps-- i like being surprised day of also!!

i'm much shorter than 6'3". i'm much farther back on floors. since when is 6'3" considered short? i must legally be a little person then. the fact you're complaining about 34th row blows my mind. and unless you're lucky on TM or want to spend a butt load on stubhub, you're probably going to do far worse than 34th row.

It still remains an assumption, q. There is no way for you to verify the veracity of your claims (of political alliances), which, as you point out are not directed at the Original Poster. Statements (simple or otherwise) are usually backed by fact.[/quote]

  • I think the bottom line is the 10club just needs to let people know where the hell they are sitting the day people but their tickets and you have a choice to buy them or not buy them it makes everything easier and it will help stop the bitching on this situation.

I agree but this problem is bitched about all the time the simple solution is let people know where they are sitting when they buy tickets not stick people with shittier seats than ticketmaster would give them........ If people can see what they are buying they can continue to buy or not. It's a pretty simple solution.

Hahaha. This is the kinda guy you could give a new car to as a present and he would complain about the color. I wish my life was so uncomplicated that seating at a PJ concert was this big of a deal.

to me that sounds like a nightmare. because of the seniority you have to fill the allotted amount of tickets before you can distribute the seating arrangements. then you'd see where you are seated, and if people say no, what happens to those tickets? do you have a second sale? then seniority based on those remaining tickets? could this lead to a third, fourth, fifth sale? just seems tough. I'm not crapping on you but I just don't think it's as simple as you make it seem.

You don't get it. I pay my club fee's every year just so I can get great seats every three years or so when they tour in San Diego. I don't care what I pay for the seats. If I have to I will buy them from scalpers in the future. Also, you must not be married. You would understand if your wife is unhappy and she can't see during the show and you promised her you are going to have great seats....You are not going to have a good night with her not seeing..34th row on the floor are not great seats. If you have a club that bases its seats on how many years you have had your membership then you should not have newer 10c members sitting on the side of the stage or a few rows up on each side. Common sense.....34 rows away with people in front of you or the wings?

You made some great points. Just saying the system of distributing tickets this show was flawed. You saw the pattern of all my past shows. I didn't think someone with a number 256xxx would be sitting close to where I sat last time. So I guess we can debate this over and over and then at the end I will end up renewing my membership for the next three years and we will have this debate all over again on the next tour. :)

i love the ticket distribution system.

it's always a surprise as you don't know how many people buy tix to which shows or what their numbers will be

also... you dont know what seats the venue has alotted the 10c ... it's all a crapshoot... and no matter how you slice it... you get to see an incredible show and an incredible band

sounds like a win win for me!

at least i always think it is! :)

renew your membership and better luck next time

(hint: try to hit a show in a less saturated market... i.e. salt lake.... GOOD LUCK !!!) :)
