that's hilarious....I was watching a rerun of the Office the other night where Jan comes to have a "female-only" meeting to go over HR stuff and Dwight tells Jim "you'd better break that meeting up or they'll all start menstruating at the same time and the plumbing in this building will never be the same"

well of course the male of the species can smell when the female is in heat. tis called survival of the species.

this is what happens when you ignore comedic films within popular culture. i actually did know the 'i love lamp' reference, simply b/c of this board. however, i didn't realize further comments were still disalogue from that film. and even the 'i love lamp'...didn't get what it was doing in the hater thread either but the further comments just appeared to me veering even further afield of the thread topic, so i was simply curious...

my husband watched some/all of it, i had zero interest. he did not like it, at all. tho he now realizes, he just can't stand will farrell. haha. he did love napoleon dynamite, whereas i was bored. what can i say? i don't think those films are aimed at me, my humor. c'est la vie. just on occasion, get a little left out of some of the posts on this board. thank bejeebus i love the big lebowski.

lebowski trumps anything will ferrell could ever hope to accomplish. napoleon dynamite actually gets better when you see it more than once. it's too weird to really connect with at first. i'm not totally anti-ferrell, but he's really hit and miss. i liked the nascar one, but a lot of his films are awful. he's much better as a support player than the star.

i'm all for getting *more* from a film with repeated viewings, in fact i love that. however, if a flick doesn't grab me first go round, i just see no point in suffering thru it again in the hopes it 'gets better.' i have come to realize, 98% of those kinda comedic films really don't do it for me. such is life. i think i'll manage.

btw - weirdness is no deterrent, i love plenty of weird flicks.
