Come Back is freakin' awesome. Sums up the album - Pearl Jam's "Comeback." Love the Avocado album! Check out the version from Immagine in Cornice - whole crowd is singing Come Back at the end. Like i said, everyone's opinion is fine, but I think it's a shame you're missing out on this awesome song. I do agree with most of the rest of your list.

By the way, I hate Bu$hleaguer, and I couldn't stand W. The song is just bad.

  • Come Back is probably my least favorite PJ song ever. It's a shit sandwich.

Just so we're clear-- the other guy hated "Come Back." I'm with you. It might be one of Pearl Jam's five best songs.

"Bu$hleaguer" was an interesting idea. Musically, the foundation was there for a good song. Lyrically, the sentiment was right on, but the words were a bit forced and obtuse. The biggest problem with the song now is that its resonance, like Bush, is gone. It's too specific. It would be like writing a song about what a terrible president James Buchanan was. It would have hit hard in 1859 but fallen flat once Lincoln was elected. (Note: I am not comparing Obama to Lincoln. Further note: By saying that I am not comparing Obama to Lincoln, I am not knocking Obama.)

Anyway, "Bu$hleaguer" would have been a great B-side-- something you can listen to when you feel like it, but without sidetracking an album.

I don't dislike many PJ songs at all, but LBC I skip every time.

  • to the people who said either Sad or Love Reign O'er Me:

Your right to hold an opinion on any matter is hereby revoked.

    Three reasons:
    1. (SAD) - probably one of their best songs in the last 10 yrs, if not ever. Just amazing raw emotion.
    2. (Love Reign) - Even if you don't like The Who, that song is just effing magic when PJ does it.
    3. I just can't let you have or express an opinion due to #'s 1 and 2. I'm sorry.

BTW, it's hard for me to name songs that I actually don't like. I probably don't listen to them anymore if they even exist. I actually even liked Last Kiss the first few times I heard it - not that the song was special, but just the concept of PJ doing an old 50's tune was kinda cool.

I've never gotten too jazzed about Dissident, Brain of J, Around the Bend, and a few others. But really, I don't even know if it reaches the level of dislike.

ALSO> nobody get bitchy about me saying I revoked people's opinions - it's a little joke people. I actually don't even have that power.
