Out right don't like : Evacuation, Parachutes, help help, sweet lew, mankind, aye davinita
There are some I skip on lost dogs and jonny guitar (sometimes) on backspacer
Thats pretty incredible quality ratio from a band with over a hundred songs !
Last Kiss...it sucked in the 50s and still sucks now
Sweet Lew
Stupi Mop
Release.....just kidding hahaha
I think some of this is apples and oranges (i.e., not all of these songs are in the same category). Take the three examples in this post. "Last Kiss" is a cover. It was never intended to get the attention it got. If it had just remained a holiday single, PJ fans wouldn't be so bored with it. "Sweet Lew" is a novelty that never had any chance of getting onto a record, at least not in its present form. "Stupid Mop" is an experiment, not a real song.
I think covers, novelties and experiments are different from "real, original" Pearl Jam songs, and belong to a different discussion altogether. Does anyone really enjoy "Bugs"? It's one thing to listen to it when it comes on, but does anyone actually cue that one up? I'd bet that even Eddie cringes when he hears it.
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
Love Reign O'er Me ??? Really?? Wow. Any reason in particular?
Also, who can't appreciate the spontaneous beauty of a song where they impersonate singing goats?
I'm, in general, not a fan of the Who. I like some of their songs, but don't care for them as a whole (even though I paid $100 to go see the two of them live, but that was to see if the songs translated better for me live than they did studio-they did not). Maybe I'd like it without the orchestral beginning. I don't know.
Sorry. Shoot me!

I still can't believe someone didn't like Deep! Inconceivable! lol
And what's with the people picking Bugs, Aye Davanita, and Hey Foxymop - do they really count? lol
I'd have to go with Mankind, Around the Bend, Low Light, Evacuation, Get Right, 1/2 Full, Big Wave, Inside Job, Johnny Guitar, Just Breathe, Supersonic, and Speed of Sound off the top of my head. Not that they're bad songs, I just don't like them as much as I like Pearl Jam's other songs. Like I said in another post, they set the bar pretty damn high when they were younger - there's no way for them to consistently meet that kind of a standard with every song (and still please EVERYONE - there are probably a ton of people reading this right now thinking it's "inconceivable" that I don't like Low Light and Just Breathe).
To the people who don't like these topics... what's the big deal? As long as it remains civil and there's no name-calling, what's the problem with admitting you don't like everything a band has done in 20 years? I don't like everything my wife does, but I'm not going to divorce her because she doesn't change out empty toilet rolls. As long as they have overwhelmingly more good songs than bad, we're all going to remain big fans - they're still my all-time favorite band, by a mile, even though they wrote a song about a woman on an album cover with a pimp lol
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

BANG....!!!
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
There are songs that I like more than others but, I can't even think of a song that I don't like.
EXACTLY

Deep
Speed of sound (although sometimes i can't get it out of my head for some reason :? )
Glorified G
lol. same thing on Speed of Sound. Even tho it's my least fave on Backspacer, it seems to be the one that creeps into my consciousness the most often. I'll say to myself "How did that happen?" I just let a song that I don't even like much get tattooed inside my brain. Life is a hoot man, seriously.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion of what they don't like, even Given to Fly. (but really???)
I like everything on Ten, Vs., Avocado.
I am including Pry To, Bugs & Stupid Mop, because I think they greatly reduced the quality of Vitalogy. Kind of like Aye Davinita though.
Habit is mediocre. Lukin - nope, don't like it.
I'm Open, Push Me Pull Me - um, I can't stand talking in songs. (thus why I hate any rap)
Around the Bend, Thin Air - kind of boring
Evacuation is awful.
Most of Riot Act sucks. Maybe if Eddie didn't mail it in it would've been better, but it wasn't.
Can't decide whether or not I like Speed of Sound or The End.
I'm not counting b-sides, etc. They were b-sides for a reason.
Oh yeah - feel free to execute me, but I kind of like Last Kiss. Does that expel me from the Ten Club?

to the people who said either Sad or Love Reign O'er Me:
Your right to hold an opinion on any matter is hereby revoked.
Three reasons:
1. (SAD) - probably one of their best songs in the last 10 yrs, if not ever. Just amazing raw emotion.
2. (Love Reign) - Even if you don't like The Who, that song is just effing magic when PJ does it.
3. I just can't let you have or express an opinion due to #'s 1 and 2. I'm sorry.
BTW, it's hard for me to name songs that I actually don't like. I probably don't listen to them anymore if they even exist. I actually even liked Last Kiss the first few times I heard it - not that the song was special, but just the concept of PJ doing an old 50's tune was kinda cool.
I've never gotten too jazzed about Dissident, Brain of J, Around the Bend, and a few others. But really, I don't even know if it reaches the level of dislike.
ALSO> nobody get bitchy about me saying I revoked people's opinions - it's a little joke people. I actually don't even have that power.
Ghost - sounds like a garage band
Cropduster - so bad i dont remember listening to it lately
Force of Nature - "One man stands alone..." Ugh, terrible!!! "A beacon on dry land"...OMG, its CRAP!
That's really it though. I love everything else, including wierd ones like Aya Davanita, Mankind, and Leatherman is just pure road fun to me.
You're insane! Force of Nature is an incredible song. Cropduster is good, too.
I agree with you there. Never understood the lack of love for Cropduster. And I've always loved Aye Davanita.
Songs I skip include Sweet Lew, Help Help (though it's ok live), Bugs, I'm Open, Don't Gimme No Lip, The Whale Song and Last Kiss.

Green Disease -- I really, actively dislike this song
Unemployable -- sounds too much like "Born in the USA" to me, and that's not a compliment.
Stupid Mop -- That doesn't really count, does it?
Oh, and I like "Last Kiss," sorry. I've always liked music from that era.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.
I really don't get tired of their music, and enjoy even the little goat thing, which makes me laugh, and even, yes it's true, last kiss, as long as it's not too often...I can only think of two that I routinely skip, and not because they are bad songs, I just don't like what they are about: Deep, and Off He Goes...actually I know they are great songs but I just don't want to hear about, as EV said once about off he goes, being friends with an asshole, I know enough of them in real life, and I don't really find them so facinating. The last verse of Deep is really unpleasant IMHO as well.

I agree. Honestly, I love Lukin. The shortness of it is awesome, but I wish I didn't have to hit repeat a thousand times to make it a longer tune!
I also love what the lead-in to it was on Benaroya.

I expect there are a few from Riot Act, but such is my apathy for that record I don't think I could name them all.
