This show ranks up there as one of the more memorable ones I have seen. The uniqueness of the setlist and the simulcast environment was very cool. Crazy Mary was the best version of that song I have ever seen. I really hope that makes it to the broadcast along with the story about Boom and his dad watching ACL together when Boom was a kid. That was a very touching moment of true emotion. The best way I have been able to describe this show to my friends is that it had the intimacy and story telling moments of one of Ed's solo shows but had had the whole band with him to turn it up a notch and rock. I was also one of the lucky ones who met Ed outside of the studio after the show. This was my second time meeting him and he's a very humble guy. Great great night overall!
Unfortunately KCET, the PBS station in SoCal stopped airing ACL 7 or 8 years ago. That was just shortly after I found out about the show so I was pretty bummed then. We'll have to look around to see if there is some way to watch it online.

Crazy Mary was played. They came back out after the lights went up. Ed told a story about how Boom and his dad used to watch that show and Boom told his dad that one day he would play that show. Boom got really emotional and teared up and then they just killed Crazy Mary. It was awesome.
I loved that story, since I used to watch ACL with my dad as a kid, too. That was the best Crazy Mary I think I've ever heard. Boom and Mike were on fire. Also one of my favorite performances of Porch. I hope that one makes it on the show.
I had a blast at the simulcast! It was almost as good as being at the taping, though obviously not quite The only bummer was y'all drank up all the beer before we got there...
"What happens when so many people agree on something? Can we take this beyond the parking lot when we leave tonight?" -EV, Iconoclasts
The show was "Tony the Tiger GGGgggrrrrreat"... anyone else think that Ed was super nervous at the beginning?
Don't want to reiterate what others have said... DTE was superb and Johnny Guitar was super energized. Mike was right in front of the vets while shredding the Star Spangled Banner.
The 6th floor smelled of bar-b-que 'cause the band was having a cook out before the show... guess they didn't want to cook in the rain... HA!
Note-ables in the crowd...
Lance Armstrong (as mentioned in a previous post)
Meg Ryan
Luke Wilson (who left after 5-6 songs)
Um, we're looking for a report on songs, not E! news dipshit
I always thought it should be E? news rather than the exclamation (!) varity... and thanks for the insult brother! (we joined on the same day, notice that?)
Yeah you are right... I could have posted the set list that had already been posted. I chose to give other details... the place smelled like bar-b-que cause the band had the grill and they like to partake of delicious food (I had never heard of a band grilling in an inclosed space on the 6th floor of a building) and celebs there... atmosphere of a small venue = more than set list.

Just Breathe, The End, and Lukin were performed with an Austin-based string quartet if I remember correctly. Lukin with strings was a hoot
