I bought Chicago 1 and Chicago 2. The two are great. What is for you, and for the moment, the best 2009 bootleg ?

Thanks

It was a radio broadcast of 90% of the show. Yeah it will be a copy of the official boot. Great sound quality. They have played Sheperds Bush, Belin and London O2 on the radio now.

Because I was there, I have to say Chicago 1. But they are all great. A close second would be the Toronto boot.

This must be why the boots haven't been released yet. I am hoping by next week or 2 they will be available.

Rotterdam is the best there is..... for me because i was there

Only way to relive a fantastic night.

Ofcourse there can be better shows with better songs but they can never compare to the same night you spend with Pearl Jam.... 8-)

That's why i am very sad about the fact that they don't have an official boot of Nijmegen '06 and Amsterdam '96... those 2 are the only 1 I don't have in my collection of visited concerts

Of all the shows released so far, I like Seattle 2 the best.

really? this is the only boot i've gotten so far and i thought it was pretty bad. it actually dropped my expectations for seeing them in philly at the end of the month. i was kinda hoping it was just an off night, but i thought it was a really sloppy performance. is it just me or does it seem like the band is rushing through all the songs. they played everything so damn fast. even songs like 'just breathe' were rushed. is this the fault of the drummer or the whole band? obviously they are all very capable musicians, do you think they are making a conscious effort to speed up the songs, or maybe the energy was just taking over and causing them to play fast? i don't know because i'm not a musician, but i would really like to hear them slow it down a bit.

i think they played 27 songs for the show and it didn't even hit the two hour mark.

additionally, the sound quality sucks on the bootlegs again. not quite as bad as 2008, but what happened to the quality of 2006? the boots sounded great that year, and the years before.

I think all Pearl Jam shows are good, so i waited to get Seattle night 1, to kick off the tour with the new cd, had a good set list, so i went ahead and got the FLAC version, the audio is ok, i have heard better, and then there is this annoying lady all through the show, sounded like a Indian war chant, have you ever been to any concert and ended up with a drunk sitting next to you that you just can't stand, well this show will give you that experience right at home. needless to say i wound not recommend this show.

I listened to Chicago 1 and 2. The two shows are great.
  • Downloaded FLACs, not impressed with the mastering here, seems like they cranked the loudness to me.
After listening to Seattle 1, I can say I didn't notice a lot of the mess ups while actually there...they sound off as a band, but watching live it really looked like they were having so much fun up there. I guess that's somewhat expected with being able to go back and analyze every note on the bootleg. I got a kick out of Ed in Save You mumbling half the lyrics though, he definitely forgot most of it
Listening to Seattle 2 now. I definitely enjoyed the 2nd night better being there, and so far happier with the boot, too.

Gonna have to check out several of the later shows now too. Even before the show, I'd love to see a PJ closes the Spectrum box set on vinyl :D

Toronto was such an awesome show with the "self-opener' and great energy.

However, the boot is completely butchered IMO. Sounds awful.

The Toronto & Vancouver show's, so far released '09 Bootlegs, are pretty sweet!
  • The Vancouver show is actually a fucking mess. Mistakes all over the place. Maybe the setlist is cool, and maybe it was cool in the audience, but...I prefer bootlegs where the whole band is on the same page.
