Like I said, this was just how I thought it was.
Didn't know I could fly from Memphis to Los Angeles and possibly get 1st,2nd,or 3rd row seats from 10c members who actually live in LA. oh well.....now I know......
i'm pretty sure they stopped that hometown thing before or after the riot act tourdon't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

The way i see it...
I have been up close a few times... it won't kill me to sit a few rows back if it gives fellow fans the chance... who would normally never get the chance... to get to see the gigs as I have seen them.

it is hell to get tickets in vancouver. after years of sitting in the back of the stadium (or not getting a ticket at all - and having to rely on the inflated re-sale prices), i finally joined ten club. to even be in the lower bowl for the last few shows, has been amazing.

I joined back when the gigs were General Admission. I joined to save me the stress of 137, 'I'm sorry, but all circuits are busy at this time...' messages in a row on ChargeLine. Ten/VHC was much easier to get tickets in hand.

i have purchased ten club tickets two times so far out of the 5 shows i have seen
east rutherford and hartford last year, both times i had very decent seats cant complain, in view distance of the stage i would say one level off the floor
member # 279xxx0 -
if i had to take a stab at it , i think its based on how many fellow members are there at that show and what your club member # is compared to there club #
so for example if i am 279xxx going to philly im expecting since every state up and down the east coast will be there i will be in section 200's or 300's based on how big that show is going to be and the state venue, but who knows as long as i am there and i get a bootleg later on0 -

but someone is complaining about Vancouver? really? EVERYONE got great seats for that, even shitty numbers. actually there's circumstantial evidence that the front row lottery might have been weighted towards local this year.. I don't mind that though, I think it's great my Canadian friends got front row in their hometown
didn't stop me getting good to great seats on my not great number all tour0 -
Backspacer 76 wrote:Like I said this is just how I think it is done. My seniority helps me get better seats at concerts IF they are playing in or around my home where my seniority is compared to others around me who are also in the 10c.Then if I travel to another part of the country (say New York)even though my 10c# might be lower than others at this show that doesn't matter because there are people who live there who deserve that better seat more than me. Does any of this make sense?
It has NOTHING to do with where you live. The reason you got such amazing seats in Memphis in 2000 is because 10C only allowed people to buy 1 pair of tickets for the entire tour...AND they distributed them in blocks. So if first 4 rows were from 10C #'s 1-102xxx....if member 102xxx picks up their ticket first they get front row. If member number 1 picks their ticket up right before the show (ergo last) they get 4th row.
In 2003 you said you went to Little Rock...there wasn't a whole lot of fanclub people who travelled to that show compared to other cities on the tour so thats why your number got you 2nd row there.
In places like LA and NYC they have a MUCH larger fanbase and more people travel to those cities than to Little Rock and probably Memphis to see Pearl Jam. In Little Rock you're competing with maybe 100 other people vs 1000 other people in NYC.
Sometimes 10C does make mistakes...look at Seattle 2 on this tour...and Grand Rapids 06 just to name 2 shows. Shit happens, their human and sometimes they can't control what dishonest shithead ticket employee's for certain venue's do behind their back.
They really do DO the best they can to make sure our tickets are allocated fairly."Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -

I live in the Memphis area.
I bought 10c tickets to see PJ play in Knoxville in 1998. I couldn't wait! thought I would have killer seats!
NOPE..... The seats were not good at all. All the way in the back of the venue.
Then in 2000 I bought 10c tickets to see PJ play in Memphis. My expectations were pretty low about getting great seats. I had front row seats!!!!!!!
Little Rock,AR. 2003 tour. 2nd row center!!!!!!
So I always thought you can have good seniority in 10c but it still depends on where you are seeing this show.
If I got on a plane and flew to the next LA show I would not get very good seats because I live no where near California. If I see a show near my home town it increases the possibility of great seats.
If you just joined the ten club in 1998, like your profile says then your seats to the 98 show would probably not be that great. I joined in 1998 as well and my seats have been good just depends how many other ten club members show up and if they have more seniority than you. My friend Logan has been in since 1994 and he got third row both nights in Chicago because the first two rows are lotto only. I have been in since 1998 and my seats are usually around the 10th row or so. I got 11th row at Eddie's solo show in Atlanta this past June.0 -

Second tour in a row that they tooled me on seats.
The seniority based seating is complete BS and a total lie.
pretty useless thread if you're not going to let us know ur number and seat location0 -
I got shafted on 10C seats for the Seattle 2 show. Big whoop! First time in like 35 TC ticket shows I've been to. Shit happens. Ten Club is awesome and anyone who says not is a fool. I joined because I liked the band, not for the equivalent of a Ticketmaster presale password.0

All I have to say is....as long as you're in the building you're good. The fact that on any given night you can experience the greatest concert of your life is amazing. The REAL point of 10C tickets is to help guarantee that the bands TRUE fans get in the building. My brother been a member since 96, me since 98 and my girl since 06....I've sat from nose bleeders to within feet of the band and the point is I really don't care where I sit. I sat on the lawn in 08 for the Hartford show and up until night 2 in Seattle it was the best show I've ever seen.
Point is...just be happy your there to experience it rather than cry where you sit cause when they play Habit on 10/31 and I'm sitting in the last row in the house I will rock out with my you know what out!

For some reason on several 10c members profiles on here it says joined "01 jul 1998"
Why it say`s this I have no idea...... :?:0 -
I think the date joined refers to the message board, not the tenclub.0

I don't normally complain, but this has been on my mind for quite some time. Being from Philly, the majority of my fan club seats have been at the Camden shows. In 2000, I was 13th row center. Great seats at the Spectrum in 2003. In 2008, I was 22nd row all the way almost against the side wall at the same venue (in fact I had almost the exact same seats both nights.) I really can't come up with any good reason for that (and yes I'm aware of the change in policy for rows 1-2 and 9-10).0

ah ... i've talked about this with other fans who were in the same boat. I think it has a lot to do with NYC-area fans making the pilgrimage to Camden. In 2000, PJ played 3 shows at Jones Beach, so it's mostly likely many NYC-area fans didn't make the trek. Two of my friends who usually get 5th-6th row got 1st-2nd row. Also in 2003, the Spectrum show was just two days before the Uniondale, NY show. In 2008, you can't make the argument about NYC-area fans because there were 2 MSG shows after the 2 camden shows. However, in 2008, you were automatically starting 4-rows back because the 1st-2nd and 9th-10th rows were used for lottery.-JR
