    actually listening to it now.

    overall, a solid record. i actually prefer the s/t album over backspacer though. mainly becuase just breathe isnt on s/t.

    Only song that i'm burnt on is Just Breathe. Cuz my ex played it over and over and over again when we were dating.

    Nope, boat not floating. I think it is one of, if not the, weakest Pearl Jam albums yet made. I still like a few songs on it, but Brendan acting like a band member and also adding what I could only call elevator music flourishes to several songs doesn't do it for me at all.

    I'm still riding high amongst Backspacer's glorious waves. Pearl Jam's best album it ain't but essential listening all the same. I think they needed to make something this positive after the claustrophobic albums that preceded it as great as they are. Still prefer the Speed Of Sound demo though and Ole would have fit on the album nicely too I reckon. I really can't wait to see what they deliver on album number Ten!!

    So its been a while since I asked this question...how's it doing for you now?

    Like a few of the studio albums I've abandoned ship for bootleg versions of many of the tracks - but will go back for Force of Nature and Speed Of Sound now and then. Its not really an album I'll play through in one sitting (but I don't think I've done that with any of them since No Code). Just Breathe gets played on the guitar now and then. It'll always been linked with last year's EuroTour and therefore always thought of very, very fondly.

    Bad taste right now, I am glad it did well and was well received but part of me wants them to be more like the Riot Act era where no one but die-hards gave a fuck. Still don't like speed of sound, long ago I replaced the studio version with the demo in itunes, but I did that with Gone also. It just never quite made it over the hump for me, I mean lets face it The Fixer lyrics are stupid aside from the last verse or bridge or whatever it is. One solo Ed song is one too many for sure and Johnny Guitar is just fucking awful.

    Demo of Speed of Sound is fantastic. Album version sounds too "corny".
