What does Eddie drink on stage?

Anyone know what he drinks on stage? I've seen wine, beer, gatorade, water, etc.

It is obvious he prefers a bottle or two of wine on stage. In the photos I see, I can rarely see what brand/varietals/type etc, he's drinking. I know he prefers red. I've heard he likes Siduri Pinot Noir from Vander Kamp VIneyard (Wine Spectator article; I think he surfs w/ one of the Vander Kamps' sons; and asks them to remove the wine labels) and Sleight of Hand (based in WA).

Does anyone know what types of wines he likes? Anyone take a swig of the bottle(s) he passes around to the front rows? Any folks in the front how does he pick wines (in europe is he drinking the local stuff, etc.)?

Thanks,
Sasha

Full disclosure: I make a little bit of wine. A friend was hanging out with Kelly Curtis (their manager) at Outside Lands. She gave the band a couple bottles after Outside Lands Festival.

    I read the same thing about Siduri. The liquor store down the street from me stocks it and it is very good. Pricey ($45/bottle) but very good. I like to crack a bottle when I spin my Benaroya Hall vinyl.

    yeah, scroll to the bottom of siduri's web site.

  • at MSG 08 I i saw him poor his wine into peoples beer cups...i think they offered him beer and he repayed them with wine...i think that's how it went down...i could be wrong though...bottom line is, yes he does share it with front rowers
  • I was lucky enough to be close in Vancouver and he had two wine bottles, one filled with red wine... one filled with gatorade, or something similar. I didn't realize one of them was actually filled with gatorade until I sat up front. Gotta stay hydrated! :D

  • yeah the bottles he gets are engraved too, i cant remember what they say though

    the other bottle is gatorade.

    else if (work >= 0) {

    work = work +1;
    }system("pause");
    return 0;}
  • why pour gatorade into a wine bottle??

    (and where is the wine that was in the bottle before??)

    ed, too much awareness of looking cool on stage...?

    I took a hit off that bottle in Irvine back in 2003. It was a red Italian... smooth, fairly light and sweet. My guess would be a Tuscan Chianti.

    I had 2nd row in San Diego '03, and the bottle that he handed down to us was KJ Cabernet.

    Sounds appealing
  • Well yea it would suck to see him chugging down a gatorade during the concert..... LIke yea, support Gatorade!!!!!!!!!! at least the wine bottle keeps the product labeling hidden!

    He tends to drink Coronas. And tea or coffee. I think it's tea.

  • when i took the rare opportunity to swig eddie's wine, it was definitely red, and there was no label on the bottle. you can even see me do it on a particular Hartford 08 Fuckin' Up video on youtube. i'm the last one to drink it after probably 10 people (nasty, i know LOL) before security gave it back to eddie.

    most excellent source, pdxtrub, thanks for sharing.. might be a hard to find a good Barolo for $20-40, let alone a Pinot Noir for that price.

    $45 for a bottle of wine!! Bloody hell, no wonder he has to go on to gatorade for the second. Makes me look a cheapskate with my £1 bottles of cider and £3.99 bottles of wine. $45!! :o

  • Siduri is made by Adam Lee in Sonoma, a great guy and a great winemaker. I make the Sleight of Hand wines here in Walla Walla....also a great guy and great winemaker, ha ha. I have had the pleasure of having EV take a few bottles on stage, last time Chicago night 2 during the encore, and there is no greater thrill than to see him drinking my wine with a huge smile on his face! Another super fan, Geoff Whitman in Napa, makes a small label called Ledbetter...not out yet I do not think, but he makes the Medusa wines as well. He is super cool. We are thinking of colaborating on a project, blending his Napa wine with my Walla Walla wine, and doing it just for the Pearl Jam fans...what do you think?
