Wow! :o  :o  I didn't expect that at all. What a fucking episode. I don't want to discuss it due to ruining it for anyone but WOW. I'm speechless. This show can take so many directions next season. Fucking unbelievable.

The last 5 minutes, I'm like this :o:o:o:o

I know. At first it seemed like a typical ending to a show and then without warning, BAM, they hit you with a whole new twist. I can't wait to see what they have planned for next season.

  • ok, no spoilers... that was a very shocking ending! I guess nothing in Dexter's life is normal and he can never live like everyone else. is it destiny or is it chance?

Its such a crazy premise, where the protagonist is a serial killer, yet somehow we can look past that, to an extent, until something happens to shake it up and you're just left dumbfounded.
Anything can happen next season. can't wait!

  • I can't wait until next season to see how Dexter explains to
the police why Rita, of all people, was killed by the trinity killer.

    Great ending.

An unbelievable ending. I think it's destiny...Dexter endangers anyone he includes in his life...like Harry said.

I can't wait to see how season 5 takes off. Think Dexter will coach Harrison like Harry did to him? I know that's a very hard call to make at this point, but seriously...it's possible.

See I always thought that there was something different about Cody. But something tells me the kids will either go to Pauls parents or Rita's. So my feeling of Cody being trained by Dexter is sort of in the lost now.

But then again we shall see! We always do!

I thought the same thing as Cody showed a lo tof interest in Deb's story about Lundy's death. Either or though, we could be looking a bit into it. Eliminating Astor and Cody from the show would make sense...it would be odd to see Dexter with three kids...

It will be interesting to see where Dexter goes from here. I mean, he could put Harrison in daycare but what would he do about all the late night or all night stalkings of his victims. He has never had to worry about caring for a child. All I know is September can't come soon enough.

  • Yea shoot, I never even thought about the nobody to watch Harrison at night when he goes out on his "missions".

Wow. It's not like Deb can do it, she would catch on to quick.

I have read some theories online about the last 5 minutes being a dream. I really can't see how it can be. It makes Trinity out to be a lot smarter than Dexter thought and in the end, he won. It also opens the door to a ton of possibilities next season. After thinking it over, I thought it was a great ending.

Yeah I don't think it's a dream either. The writers would be foolish to actually play this off as a dream and at the beginning of the 5th season say "Oh, just kidding!", I think that would piss off A LOT of viewers. From what they've come up with in these 4 seasons, I'm confident the writers are smart enough not to do that ya know?

IMO, with all the possibilities left from that ending, I think the writers are still figuring out which direction to go...

  • Completely agree. Probably won't even start filming till May. So I'd think they would take a break till January, then start writing season 5. Absolutely can't wait. At least Nurse Jackie is near a new season.

yup...i have read on imdb that there are a lot of people unhappy with how this season and the ending went though...then again, a lot of people bitched about the sopranos. it just goes to show how good the programming is that people care about it so much though. this is the best show on tv imo

Haha. Does anybody else feel that there are two many people out there who bitch about their favorite TV shows instead of just observing what the writers/directors/actors have to show artistically?

I hear so many people pissed off as if the writers and directors owe them something. Comical, if you ask me.

  • The ending blew me away. At first I was shocked, then I was confused, it did seem somewhat dream like, but I really don't see that being the case. With Rita being out of the picture, it just opens up a whole world of possibilities. And now I agree with a few of the earlier posts, and think it was a GREAT ending. My boyfriend said that he saw an interview with John Lithgow, and that he said that he hasn't spoken a lot about Michael C Hall in many interviews, but when the writers told him how the season was going to end, and the direction season 6 was heading "He was ecstatic". Or something to that extent.

    September can't come soon enough!

Completely agree. Although Michael C. Hall has been nominated the last 2 years for best male lead in a drama and lost twice so I think the Emmy's are a joke. But I can't see this show going winless again this year.

I fully agree. Lithgow owned the show this season with his perfect portrayal of such a twisted character. Somebody better give that guy an award.
