    i need to catch up.

  • This last episode was incredible! Some amazing acting from John Lithgow, the guy is fucking terrifying! I'm shocked that a show 4 seasons in can still hit new peaks, this is the best series yet, in my opinion.

I actually fear Lithgow on that show...he completely owns that character.

Totally. The finger breaking scene was particularly horrible :o
  • Thank God for internet. I don't get showtime, but I had a little Dexter marathon by myself on the computer and caught up. I love this show, so much goes on in every episode.

Agreed. The writers certainly have a knack for writing an episode that can keep up with multiple storylines. This is a classic show in the making...I often think about where it'll go and what the series finale will be like.

Just when you think Trinity can't get any sicker, they give us tonight's installment.

These last two episodes are going to be EPIC.
  • The first season I thought was perfection. I was a little dissapointed in the second season. The third was slightly better. But this fourth season is absolutely nuts.... Dexter seems to be making more and more mistakes too. Maybe this will all catch up to him in season five.

i have a feeling dexter gets caught at the end of this season or the next one....you're right, he is making a lot more mistakes. and he is becoming more and more "human" through the evolution of the series.

I guess it's down to how many seasons the writers want to do. Hopefully not do a ER thing and go on for 38 seasons, but keep it true to the spirits of the show. Maybe two or three to go... I'd think they could have the final season of him just being on trial and doing flashbacks of past hunts and kills....

the trial thing is a great idea. i would like to see that.

i really think with all the mistakes he has made that he gets found out within the next couple episodes. next season will be about the fbi hunting HIM....and then the final season: dex on trial.

the writers really have an excellent opportunity to close this show out in a very unique way. i hope they go that route or some other outside the box route. as much as you kind of root for dexter to get away with everything, it would be cool to see all the characters reactions when they find out who he really is.

    this is great tv.

YES! That would be the ultimate wrap-up to the series. But I wonder what would be his fault? Trinity learning of, and revealing his identity?

Man, here it is Tuesday and I still didn't see Sundays episode. I DVR'd it to watch the R&R HOF concert on HBO sunday night and last night was Saints vs Pats (which I shouldn't have watched :( ) So here I am Tuesday hoping to watch it tonight. Can't wait to see what happens.

Finally watched it tonight. Man this show never ceases to amaze me. They say the biggest twist is yet to come and looking at next weeks preview, I think I have an idea of what might happen. Kind of glad I waited because now I only have to wait 5 days to see the next episode.

I thought the same thing...it was kind of nice being out of town and being forced to wait, now the next episode will come sooner. But I am dreading the end of the season :(...I could always go for new Dexter every week.

Two episodes left though, that is a good indication that some shit is going to go down.

I'm leaning towards that was just an interesting addition to the characters personal development...Dexter seems to be getting closer to having a better understanding of emotion...

Only the writers know I guess though...

I agree with this. Part of me wonders if the show will end with Dexter giving up the killing in favor of his "normal" life rather than with him being arrested and put on trial. A lot of this season seems to be focused on Dexter's realization that he isn't the monster he always thought he was - and that his father always told him he was.

I can sort of see that, but next thing you know he yanks his belt off and drags Trinity across the dining room floor into the kitchen, shuts the door and grabs a knife all in front of Trinity's family on Thanksgiving.

I love that about his character, gets so drastic on his moods.

Great episode. Trinity is so sinister it is freaky. Everytime I see John Lithgow in this show I keep thinking of George Henderson of Harry and the Hendersons. He owns this character and if the Emmy panel is watching, here is the best male supporting actor in a drama winner. Can't wait to see what happens next week but it is bittersweet as we will all have to wait till Sept 2010 to start a new season.
