Man creates aliens in our image, so why not god?

As an agnostic, were I to describe god, it'd be more organic...nature, energy, openness to the intangible.

Might need to have a listen to XTC's Dear God later on. APC's Judith too. Interesting perspectives from both.

A bit of both. I don't quite know why his son looks like a Caucasian American when he clearly wouldn't have been.

Jesus was a jew but rejected by jews(not all though)

Did "God" create us in his image or did man create "God" in our image.

God created us in his image but you have to remember he is not fleshly at all but spirit so you can sort of picture him as a glowing human spirit light in form of man, whereas we are fleshly but in his image..

I simply don't get some people...their perspective and how it's given forth.

On the upside, I know I don't have to. Don't need to.

(but really...fuck me for wanting to and trying to make sense!)

Yep, some people's walls that surround themselves are so high that they are not even worth trying to break down. They are so set in their ways that you're not going to change them no matter what you do. Sometimes they are control freaks. It's frustrating because you just want to help.

I'm Still Here, f'n nice. Most of us can relate to that at some point in our lives. The good times are worth it maybe. The agony is only temporary.

I know, right?? ( about all the pics of Jesus). I was just doing a study, and through out the study it was pointed out several times that Jesus was very plain. He looked just like everyone else. He wasn't overly attractive, and wasn't ugly. It said there were no distinguishing features to Him other than the words He spoke. I found a lot of comfort in that. But seriously, yeah, why do they portray him as Caucasian?? Dude is Jewish! And Israeli Jewish at that! Lol

As for the image, I believe when the Bible says we were created in the Image of God, it is speaking in a spiritual sense. I don't believe God has a formal body as we do. The only wayGod could pull off omniscient presence is if He is formless; a spirit. Therefore our spirit is what was created in the image of God; housed in this temporary body here on earth. Did that make ANY sense?

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Indeed it does. Not to get all churchy, but it makes sense that a plain form was given because people would be more open to someone that they didn't perceive as being any better than they are.

I couldn't even take a "standard" storm when in Ohio a few years ago.

    Yes, I am a puss =)

Now on my mind (I just called my sister to tell her we won't be joining them for Thanksgiving), I realized it'll fall on ME to fix it for us.

Could be fun though...perhaps some of it inedible...but fun.

If stores would just abide by a few simple rules, I'd be fine:
No Halloween displays until October 1
No Turkey Day displays until November 1 (exception is Canada since their turkey day is in October)
No Holiday displays until December 1-unless Hanukkah happens to fall in late November, but then ONLY Hanukkah displays will be acceptable.

So you don't want to know that I'm off the sales floor at the gallery in order to decorate for Christmas? Christmas Open House November 12th. Gotta be done by the evening of the 10th.

What's on my mind? A friend in the hospital.

Loving on my friends, as well as loving on the scent of dinner heating up in the oven.

I rock at heating up food in the oven.

So what if someone else prepared it?
