2 of my friends sent me a box of cupcakes to congratulate me....it was the nicest gesture, almost made me cry!

It was good overall! Holy information overload though!! I have a ton to learn and get used to, but looking forward to it. I really like everyone I work with, that's probably the biggest plus.

I don't know how Christmas is in Ireland, but my assumption is that the mass consumerism here might very well be completely different than what you are used to.

You give us too much credit, we love a bit of consumerism at Christmas! Well we certainly buy into the idea of presents and decorations anyway :) One of the best things we've had in Ireland over the last few years is Christmas FM, a station dedicated to playing only Christmas songs for the whole month of December. It's run by volunteers purely for charity and it raises a ton every year, not to mention putting absolutely everyone who listens to it in a good mood

We have one in NY that starts the day after Thanksgiving.

A few years ago my bf and I took so many Christmas cds out of the library I think it would take us a month to listen to all we copied...It was a pretty cool project to do.

Christmas is about family though... might be a nice opportunity to spend time with your brother et al! When your fam lives across an ocean, it might be a good idea to take that chance to see them, especially for the holidays. But I was also wondering where your brother lives. Nice place or some craphole town? ;)

that looks really cool...when I come visit you, will you take me to Central Park?
I want to go there, and to Serendipity, and to Dylan's Candy Store...

No apologies necessary. I was hoping there was an actual person named Ant. Just for the name alone, I would have to be friends with that person.
