It totally does to me too! It's a short week then hehe..

FinsburyCarrots! Congratulations! Don't go back and check it for at least a couple of months. You will for sure find things you would have changed, but their impact becomes much smaller ones you have your rating in hand ;) I brought my thesis (just a master thesis, but 140 pages lol) with me to America too. It's been a couple of years now, and I love taking it in my hands and reading a bit in it here and there. It's probably the only book I will ever write ha.

Tough day today. Someone in my bf's family passed and the service was at a funeral home. Last time I was at a funeral home was for my own father's funeral. Almost burst into tears when I walked in. I'd been to one funeral between my dad's and this one, but it was at a church, an environment I'm not too familiar with, so it was easier on me to deal with personally. I just kept having flashbacks to my father's funeral.

    Life is precious.

So excited for this weekend! We are celebrating our 20th anniversary in New York with no kids! Broadway, dinner, dessert, hotel.... I hope this weather holds up! I only feel a little guilty leaving the kids with their boring grandparents.

Thanks! It is an achievement. A few bumps along the way. The trials only make the relationship stronger when you come through them together. It's going to be nice being alone in ny again bc we did this a lot when first married and before kids. Better get my bag packed!

Thanks to all! It was such a great weekend. I'm sad it's over. We saw Once which I of course LOVED! My husband enjoyed it too though that sort of thing is mostly for me. We ate at a tiny spanish restaurant and had delicious paella with seafood. We walked all over the city even though it was raining. It was so nice to just look after each other for a few hours. Shopping, coffee, dessert, record shop (found nothing of significant interest but we spent a long time browsing). We still have tomorrow off to cushion the blow of vacation being over and school/work insane routine returning. I'm really exhausted. I came home and the kids were all alive, fed, kitchen clean and laundry done. That was all the work of my 15 yo who whips everyone into shape. She's amazing.

Great to hear! I think our society doesn't give teens enough credit; my 15 yo is often amazing, too (not always). In centuries past they might be married and running their own households; not that I want that for her, but when we underestimate what teens can do, when we baby them, they have no motivation to strive and there are all sorts of problems.

    And you weekend sounds great.

That sounds wonderful! I agree, Once was amazing! Actually, it was so good, I had to see it twice! I believe it closed yesterday (B'way cast, not touring cast), so glad you caught it while you could!

I have an electric cat box.. So I'm sorta limited on litters, but I'm thinking of just going back to the standard box, and trying new litters. The old cat LOVED the cheapo litter, and wouldn't use the expensive stuff. It was cheap but stinky. I have to do something.. Other wise o have to rehome him. :-(
