Doesn't that just blow...this happened to me when I was in college, my favorite little diner closed...I feel for you!
The place has been here for 28 years, and it is in walking distance from my house (which was convenient when I had a few extra at the bar).
Yup, the Diner had been there around that long too! And was walking distance from the dorms, I ate there all the time...it was heaven...it was a sad time.

They are over developing my neighborhood. In the final quarter of the year two neighborhood institutions announced they were being shut down cuz the owner sold the building to developers. I didn't frequent those places so I'm not upset over the loss - I am concerned about the strain it's gonna put on infrastructure. As it is, the train is constantly messed up with signal problems, mechanical problems, etc. And during rush hour sometimes there's no room to stand on the platform, which is flat out dangerous. Parking is a nightmare unto itself that I can't really speak to. So what is gonna happen with a couple hundred new apartments in like a years time? They just finished building a new school but that was done because the existing ones were so strained. It's pure greed on the part of the developers.
I totally get where you are coming from...they are building these 'apodments' (250 sq. ft. only a bathroom in each room, 8 rooms per floor, and a shared kitchen on each floor). Appx. 40 units with either no parking or only 8 parking stalls for the entire building. There already is a parking problem, and they want to cut bus service.
Stupid developers.
Oh, and congrats to Whispering Hands on your new job!

some people are so stupid to think that causing jealousy and friction helps spice a relationship, it does not me, it makes me hate and let go, i swear!!! which the reason i do swear is bc i dont trust myself afterwards because i begin to hate immediately and lose connection and friendship its enough to deal with misunderstanding so theres no need for contention, and those creating it will get it back

I was standing right by the front door getting ready to leave and my daughter who had already gone out came back in and forcefully opened the door knocking me upside the head. Ouch. Actually it hit me right by my eye and cheekbone. I swear, (yoo hoo, Juggler) I felt my brain rattle around in my skull. Nearly passed out. I have a slight bruise on my cheek. Damn.
