had to say goodbye to a dear close friend late this afternoon....

at least there's some solace knowing she's no longer suffering and her passing was peaceful

    RIP Debbie, my sweet friend

    hey thanks again

part of what's making it difficult is that she'd had critical pulmonary/cardiac events 3&1/2 years ago and again last month, yet she managed to pull through. which had given her family a sense of false optimism. not to mention i was fucking floored to discover that she had no advance directives

i'm just really thankful for the opportunity to tell her some things since i know she heard me. but yeah, i'm finding that no matter the circumstances or how much i thought we were coping well...nothing can really prepare someone when a friend passes away

  • Parents ... A pleasure and a curse  They have been here three days now and it has been a whirlwind time. I almost feel like we have children  What has happened so far: The kitty sleeps on our bed. This is new. She seems to love us more than we ever imagined. She used to sleep in front of the bed room the whole summer, but now she is on our bed. She seems to like my parents, but she also seems to be afraid of them  Both my parents like Humpa Lumpalicious beer and both of them are eager to explore the area and shop. We are exhausted. Tomorrow I will have to drive. It's gonna be fun :P  And I love my husband.
  • Thank God the water company showed up to shut off the main to the house. now I have a mess and to convince my well meaning but NOT mechanically inclined husband that this is one for the professionals.

  • I have an out door cat named Etta James. I opened the back door early this morning and she was sitting quite peacefully next to an opossum, which was eating/rummaging in the grass.

In 1859, 24 rabbits were released in Australia. Within 6 years, the population grew to 2 million rabbits.
