Gotta love the inevitable person in every road flood who thinks cars can drive underwater.
at first I felt bad for the person, but nobody forced him to go there :fp:

It is just plain weird to go scavenging at the dump.... what did he find?

That sucks. There should not be people so poor in America that they have to go picking through the dump. :(

Definitely takes a special person to be a teacher. Elementary aged kids would be much easier and more rewarding than middle school.

I'm middle school now. Have been for 15 years. It's hard work, but I love it, I love this age group. They get my sarcasm too. I want to leave my principal, and the only opening for special ed in our district is elementary or high school and I'm not certified for high school.

Then you really are special! :D I have one middle school aged kid to deal with on a daily basis and know how challenging she is and what a tough time she faces daily at school (socially). My elementary school kid loves school, strives to please her teacher and has no major (daily) social crises. I feel like for the most part the younger kids would be easier for me bc at least they are coming to school mostly to learn. MS kids have many agendas. I definitely realize that different people connect with MS age kids though. Awesome that you do. Sorry your principal is making life tough for you. Good luck with your decision.

    Thanks!

16 of our teachers are leaving because of our principal. She took a school from #1 in the city (of 5 middle schools) to the worst school ever during her 4 years as principal. Behavior and discipline are out of control! And these are the years that children need the most structure. She implememnted a new rule after x-mas break that students can be 19 minutes late to class without any penalty!!!! That's only minor compared to the other things she has done.

Rumors are swirling around that she will be transferred to an assistant principal job at one of the high schools. Idk if I can gamble on rumors though. AND I opened up my job in hopes that a transfer would be available for me. :?

Is it horrible that today instead of being all like 'Yaaayyy Mother's Day!' it's been more like 'F**K...I only have one parent left'??

Thanks...supposed to be all about my mom today, but all I can think about is my Dad. On top of all that, my mom was kinda rude to me today...happy mother's day? :? Man, I miss my dad so much....and conveniently feeling his absence real hard during finals week

Sorry for venting....very frustrated right now.

vent all you need. It makes sense that his absence is going to be more noticeable when things are stressful. Give yourself some space to miss him and allow him to be there for you. Sorry it was such a stressful day.
