I work at a radio station and I just got the new album and I have to say that I am pleasently surprised at how good it is. I was a little iffy when I first heard The Fixer, but I am now three songs deep and the first two songs (Gonna See My Friend and Got Some) are good rocking tunes. The Fixer is the third song and I'm still undecided on it.

Cheers,
Brian

PS - How about a stop at the Qwest Center in Omaha during the next tour . . . that would be awesome.

    Wait till you hear:

Johnny Guitar, Force of Nature, Just Breathe, Unthought Known, Amongst the Waves, The End...

    Brilliant stuff!
    One man stands alone awaiting
    for her to come home
    eyes upon the horizon
    in the dark before the
    darkness leaves the dawn
  • and then to the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines!
  • I'm at Just Breathe. It sounds like a left over song from Into The Wild.

    It is very good.

My top few songs are Unthought Known, Force of Nature, Amongst the Waves, and Got Some,

I would say I really like 8-10 songs A LOT.

    Very impressive album

Those are all good. Im kind of numb to the fixer. I believe the three real gems are Unthought Known, Amongst the Waves, and Force of Nature.... all songs you havent heard. Be very excited.

Also, once you hear the album you know what they were trying to tell us when they were explaining The Fixer's placement in the album and how the entire album was ordered

I think those would have to my favorites as of right now as well. Of course, my favorites could change the more I listen to it all.

There are some really nice tracks on this album, I actually really like The Fixer, Got Some (so good on the album), Amongst the Waves, Supersonic.

But as a whole it sounds more like a collection of songs than a cohesive album to me. Just my two cents. I obviously need to give it some more listens, but I don't think it'll ever be my favorite (but who knows, it would be great to be wrong). I also just really don't like how the albums ends. I think the End is just kind a downer as a song and it also just stops sort of abruptly.

Anyways, I hope everyone who gets to see the guys on this tour really enjoy the shows, I am totally jealous. Maybe if they're lucky the boys will make their true first appearance in Israel this year. Otherwise I'll just have to hope they make it to Europe and that I can scrounge up enough money to see them.

I love the breakdown/bridge in Supersonic. When I first heard it the only thing I could think was "holy shit, that's greasy". So, so good.

Although I think The End is a better song than Inside Job, I think Inside Job is a much better album closer.

I'm not the biggest fan of Inside Job either, but I definitely like it more than The End. I don't know, I was also kind of disappointed that the album closed on a song that wasn't the whole band (and not necessarily a rocker, my favorite album closer is All or None).

I don't know, some of the album gave me the impression that it was another Eddie solo album just this time not all acoustic/soft, but more rocking.

I would say The End sounds like a ITW leftover also. IMO it's the worst closer ever.

I agree. Great song, but doesn't work for me as an album closer.

I think people are missing the point of the End. The song is basically about a loved one in his death bed. Eddie does a great job of putting the listener right in the room with the soon to be dead. Just envision holding the hand of a loved at the exact moment that they pass away. You can even here their last gasp for air at the end. Its fucking brilliant!

The End is a perfect closer for 2 reasons:

    The title.

The abrupt ending of the song that almost makes you gasp when its over.

I also love The End as the album closer.

"I'm here,(music breaks) but not much longer." Silence

Perfect ending of an album. My favorite end to any album, it just hit me when I heard it for the first time.
