A very good question. Which I would like to counter with a question of my own.

You know all those people who aren't racist who are parading through the streets holding posters comparing him to Stalin and Hitler? Now, their problem ISN'T that we have a black president, their problem is that THE GOVERNMENT has wasted all their tax dollars. They think that we're taxed WAY too much.

Why did they only suddenly start to care 14 days after Obama was elected? I mean... the previous government gave tax breaks... HUGE tax breaks.. to billionaires but it's the working stiffs who are out there carrying around those Monkey dolls with Obama's face and making monkey noises.

So I'm confused... did the "Tea Baggers" just suddenly wake up in mid February and realize that for the last 8 years their money has been flushed down the toilet or given to really really rich people who pay a much lower rate of taxes?
    +1

where the hell were all of these people when we were giving hundreds of millions of dollars to sustain two wars that we had no business even fighting? why are they not upset that we give millions to the taliban and other enemy factions in iraq so that they will not attack our troops? where is the outrage that we have given kellogg brown and root, halliburton, and blackwater billions of dollars when the federal government could have done the same tasks for much less money with much less waste....these tea baggers supported the most fiscally irresponsible president and federal government in american history, and now that obama is spending millions trying to stimulate the economy and undo what has been done in such a negligent fashion they are all angry. you can't have it both ways.

the poster that called us hypocrates has no idea what they are talking about.

Everybody says "where were all these people when"? Where were you if it meant so much to you. This must be Bush's 3rd term because evrybody keeps bringing him up.
it does not matter where i was. i am not the one bitching about obama's policies now am i?

he did what he had to do to get elected. i saw some campaign video of bush in 2000 saying he was "a uniter not a divider" and "a compassionate conservative" both claims were blown out of the water shortly into his presidency. so what is your point? politicians change their minds all the time.

Well you know how it works is not a problem if Reagan came up with the czars for his administration or that GWB had as many or more czars as Obama. It matters none just as long as something anything that can be conjured up to criticize or give illegitimacy to Obama and his administration is fair game. Yes politrickians do change their minds all the time to get in office and to stay in office.

The point is simple. They were asking why Obama didn't get working on this in his senate seat and I was simply stating because he didn't believe in it then. And once again we're talking about Bush. I wonder how many people truly support Obama and how many people support him because there still pissed off at republicans?
i am going to make this very simple so everyone can understand. we are talking about bush because HE WAS PRESIDENT WHEN OBAMA WAS IN THE SENATE. it has already been explained. JUNIOR SENATORS DO NOT CRAFT MAJOR SWEEPING OVERHAULS OF ENTIRE SYSTEMS. and it would have never gotten passed with republican controlled white house and congress.

i think the majority of independents and dems support obama, but i am sure there are alot of people that think the gop is dead in the water and will never support them again.

I'm going to guess that you didn't. As far as I'm aware (and I haven't seen every video), Obama has ALWAYS been a supporter of Health Care Reform and has been a supporter of a public option.. I think he was even, at one time, a proponent of single-payer.

Hey man.. the times of allowing conservatards to post whatever crazy bat shit they can think up are gone. Those of us with brains are tired of hearing made up crap. If you come to a forum and post any of the "I heard that Obama eats babies" or "There's going to be Death Panels" or "The government is going to force you to buy their insurance" or "Glenn Beck strung a full sentence together last week," we're going to call you out.

IF you are conservative... by all means, give us your opinions and we can debate. But those of us from he left or - like me - from the center, are tired of having to give credence to stuff like "I once saw a video of Obama saying he was going to give all illegal aliens free pancakes on thursdays."

Oh man.. it's like when Glenn Beck said that "Some University.. I forget which one" had figured out that there were 1.8 million people at the Million Moron March.. when I challenged a guy here about that, he finally gave me the link. Turns out it was just some student from the University of Indiana... not the actual University but just some student.

They love to throw about the "I heard...." but when you challenge them, they can't actually back up their "Death Panel" claims.

doesn't saying "i heard" make it more hearsay than fact? that is not allowed in a court of law. to me it sounds more like gossip instead of anything remotely factual.

if they have a legitimate source they will cite it, but if it is not they conveniently "forgot" or say "i heard" so they have some form of plausible deniability for spreading complete falsities.

hey Soulsinging. i know you have not been around for a few days, and neither have i, but i have noticed that this is the new debate style around here. immediately scream "whatever" and exit the thread when someone says something that you disagree with, even when there is evidence to support that assertion.

He did say it back when he was a senate. Beck has the video footage. But who freakin cares if he believed in it or not back then. He believes in unionized health care now so that's it. I'm not even sure if I disagree with it or not. Fuck it , we gotta try something. Let's see how it works. Jasunmark......!!!! Anybody simply says something as unimportant as what Obama said when he was a senate and you gotta flap your mouth. That's the only thing you do well is call people names and try to belittle them. What makes you so much better than everybody else, or somebody that has different beliefs than you. I've never even debated anything with you and so far you've called me a retard, dumb, stupid, redneck with a foil hat, and i'm sure theres more........!!!

What is the big freakin deal? Someone asked why Obama wasn't working on this health care bill when he was a senate and i simply stated I saw a video from way back when where Obama stated he thought unionized health care would be too destructive. Thats all, and everybodys gotta come out with names and shit. Most of you have me all wrong. Yes I consider myself republican but I don't claim everything in the republican party is right, and I don't claim everything in the democratic party is wrong. But anytime somebody brings up an issue for debate that democrats don't like they get all freaked out. Claiming it's a lie, or theres no proof, and how do all of you claim that what you believe is proof, I haven't seen much proof from anybody. Not saying it's not true, but show me, i'm open to it.I may support the health care reform, I don't see the sense in bitching about it anymore, if the white house and most of america wants it to happen then it's going to happen. To be honest, i'm kind of curious. But if I lose the insurance i have right now.....i'll definately be on here running my mouth :D

Okay... 'Unionized Healthcare'... what's that? Is that in either of the Health Care Bills? And yes, having Doctors union is probably pretty destructive. Besides, aren't you in a Union?
As for proof... don't you think it's a good idea to have proof? I mean, without proof... we can say anything... like "Santa Claus just rode up on the Easter Bunny and showed me a picture of God. Really. It's true... And i don't have to prove it to anyone." and you would take that on face value?
You want proof... i gave you proof on several occasions... all you needed to do was read through it.
    ...
And yes... if someone in your upper management that sees you as only one of X amount of employees who are part of operating costs decides to cut you out in order to boost profits.. then, you lose your Heatlh Care. With a Public Option, you have an affordable choice. Without one... good luck not getting sick or injured.

Unionized Health Care, socialized, or government run...whatever, i've heard it called all these. Yes i am in a union, which is why I can't get cut for costs. The union protects you from that. I may get a short layoff in which I get to keep my insurance for a small price. But yes, if I lost my benifits I could go to Public Option...that's not the point, the point is that our president says it will not interfere. I do not believe that, he's lying.

Except again, no.. that's not really what he said.. just the Washington Times over-interpreting things.

    he said..

""That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else."

And then the president said... "If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all."

But he didn't say "Let's make all illegals legal and give them free health insurance." He said that it DOES mean we're going to have to sort out who's here legally and who's not here legally and how to deal with the people who aren't here legally. But he didn't say anything about giving them health care.

What grade did they teach reading in your state and did you finish it?

This is from the House Bill (HR 3200) itself:
SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS.

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
    ...
People who are here Illegally can still go to doctors they are willing to pay for. The Bill makes it so they cannot have access to a Public Option.

    From your own source:
"Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.
Mr. Obama added, "If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all."

Nice try with posting facts and actual quotes from the bill, but i see right through your left wing media spin!
