Joe Montana . Ament is from Montana
  • Joe Montana
    Brett Favre
  • Montana hands down. He made it look so easy. Young was great too, but it never seemed easy (except the golden 94 season). In a game you had to win, no one was better than Joe.

    Rebuttals:
As for those who said Favre. He's overrated. He's the only QB among the considered "greats" that could've been solely responsible for a win or a loss. You never knew if he was going to throw 3 TDs or 3 INTs.

Brady is solely a product of a system and a remarkable defense. NE could've easily won with many other good QBs. And yes, Brady is having a sweet year, but his receiving corp could be the most talented in history, better than anything Young or Montana had.

Aikman, his name should not have been mentioned at all. Emmitt Smith was overrated too. All the credit for the entire Dallas dynasty should be given to the big-ass offensive line they had. Best line in all of football for over a decade.

Oh forgot about Elway, great passer, but let's face it, he never won until Terrel Davis showed up.

    So, Hail Hail Joe Cool...

Tom Brady did more with less than any of the "greats" from the past. Now that he has real deal weapons, the records will fall. If the Pats go undefeated this year and win the superbowl the debate is over. Nobody has ever comanded the pocket better than Brady.

By the way Pearl Jam is the best thing since..... recorded history.

No one ever mentions him, but Terry Bradshaw was the first qb to win 4 Super Bowls and did so calling his own plays. He was one of the last qbs to do that before those duties were assumed by offensive coordinators and head coaches.

Joe Montana was great and had a GREAT system to work from (same with Tom Brady and Troy Aikman).
    ..
As a pure passer... go with Marino.

john and dan also had systems. it's called a team.

Today's critics are quick to say that Brady is Light Years ahead of everyone, but Nothing (is) As It Seems. Brady is having a great year, but he plays on maybe the best team ever. And he is as much a reason for that as the team is a reason for his great play. Brady makes few mistakes, but the TDs he throws are usually an easy toss and/or a great play by his receiver (usually Moss). But if we're talking Of The Girl(s) Brady probably wins out.

Skill-wise, I'd take his Rival, Peyton Manning every time. But we won't Soon Forget about either of them.

Clearly too early to consider him as an all time great, but another QB who was once Unemployable, Tony Romo, is having a terrific year and career so far. I'm watching the Thursday Nigher right now and Aaron Rodgers is in for the injured Favre, and he's just completed 7 straight passes, not bad for a Nothingman. 8 in a row now.

Marino, Brady, Manning, Favre, Bradshaw, Young and Johnny U all deserve mention. But the all time Betterman is Joe Montana. The Brain of J(oe) plus his raw ability is unmatched by anyone. Remember All Those Yesterdays and all those Super Bowls?

That was fun, Thanks for Reading. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town.

Bradshaw is definitly in my top 3 or 4.

The point was brought up...and a good point...I think it should be looked at as who you want leading your team rather than stats and all that BS.
