i've also decided just now because it's playing that Release will be the opener for the Auckland show. Because it will be a big pent up explosive release for us and i think it'd be a good choice.

    YA HEAR ME BOYS!?

I actually wrote a letter to the band in the scrap book that was handed to Eddie on Seattle night 2, and put a request in for Release in Auckland. Fingers crossed...

that pictured slice was a flatwarming present (hence the..uh.. inscription) from someone i was very very very attached to. a week before he moved away forever...ever...ever...ever... my flatmate at the time broke it and threw it away.

i'm hoping our friends in the south pacific are safe tonight. very freaky day to be at work and hear about the tsunami warnings which were eventually lifted for new zealand, but which have devastated our neighbours to the north. i'm really hoping all my samoan friends who were worried about their families don't have bad news to tell us tomorrow.

There is nothing I can say to relieve the hurt. So many people involved.
    Love and prayers to all.
    Where? was thier Tsumani warning.
    NZ got one.
Surely this should not have happened again, surely those that study earthquakes saw some cause for concern.
Love and peace and understanding to you all. xx

OK, Just to put some spunk back into this Thread......................
I read this on Thurs from The West Australian news paper. I wasn't goin to bother but Shit, where has all the fun gone?

    Review by Sam Jeremic

" I wanna shake this pain before I retire" Eddie Vedder sings on Backspacer's punchy opener Gonna See My Friend, and with no familial skeletons in the closet or thickhead president to rail against, he seems to mean it. A sense of fun pervades Backspacer, despite lyrical themes that seem vaguely to revolve around addiction.
A Fuzzed-out, reverb-y guitar sound welcomely recalls the feel of 1996's No Code, and Amonghst the Waves is a wonderful piece of mid-album sunshine, However.....as refreshing as it is to hear Ed loosen up to a soundtrack of essentially straight-up rock, it is here that problems arise. With the past emotional pull of Vedder's lyrics somewhat diminished, the music needs to do the job, and it slightly misses the mark too often to really drag the listener right into Backspacer. Slower songs lack the resonance of the past, the hooks are often not quite there, and, most tellingly on an album mainly consisting of straight-ahead rock tracks, the harder the material is enjoyable but not hard enough. For a long time,Pearl Jam could do all of the above and then some more, which has gained them a legion of fans more than willing to share in the good times with them, but would probably like to do so to a set of tunes more memorable that this."

I hope Sam Jeremic puts out a better album than PJ, just to show us they know better. I would like to see thier face when they see the Charts. This same paper published a shit review of single Fixer. Fuck this person must be good, I wanna hear thier music.

if thats his view, then that my explain why he is a reviewer instead of doing something creative

what i love is just cause this guy has a different opinion from most here he must not be able to do anything creative or some other rubbish.

fuck me it's his job to give his opinion. if he loved it you all would be praising Sam Jeremic for what an awesome person he must be. fuck me, you don't know him, he might be a great fucking guy very capable of doing something creative.

it's one of the more positive "negative" reviews out there, he says some positive things and just says it's not as powerful as they once used to be, which i and many seem to agree with.

so does that mean i have no value and am unable to do something creative???

and its my job to either praise his review or bag him for it and to tell him to trying something different. the review its self is well writen i will give him that much but i usually dont put too much stock into a single review

    i think i should sleep now :D

Lucky he is an Aussie reviewer or else we would send him off on walkabout for.....................................................................................................................................................................................
The review upset me because it came from someone who listens to a album once.
    Poor fucker.
And then to make a living, he has to write an article for the Boss. The Boss is........................Rich Fucker.
and so this shit gets printed into our ONLY state newspaper.
I think Sam must feel like a Dick now he has heard/read/ driven to find where Backspacer is on the Charts.
    Fucker.
