Uh, it's cool to thank the ten club but this has to be the cheesiest thread ever.
it is cheesetastic but even sappy sentiments are appropriate sometimes.
off topic and don't mean to hijack, but how's your brother doing w his lyme disease? i just got diagnosed today with my 4th exposure. the goddamn ticks find me fetching.
I think this is a no duh, even if times get frustrating. Seating mix up and so on...we're all human and i totally appreciate what they do, cause they probably get major bitching for it. longtime 10C member too.
I'll add my voice to this. The PJ staff, Ten Club, touring crew, and management have done an outstanding job making this the most enjoyable community I've ever been a part of.

on behalf of myself and Mrs ElwayVedder, we would personally like to thank the band, the 10c, the band's crew, the band's management and everyone involved for so many things that makes this band so special. They are so responsible for so many wonderful things in our lives. Its definitely been the best life we ever lived
give me a break....yeah...thanks for doing your job!!.....i know...why don't you stop by Burger King and thank the guy on fries....or the local tire place and thank the staff for changing tires, they do make the world a safer place....or i don't know...maybe your local firehouse..you can thank them for saving lives! yeah now that's a good one!
fuck...i'd love to be a PJ roadie!! talk about a dream job!!
with my mundane job you should thank me for not going postal!!
(i do appreciate the 10c staff though...you guy's deserve praise)

yea - was waiting for one of these...
I actually do know a few of their crew members - and they are nothing but genuine people. I've seen first hand how hard they do work, and know what their jobs entail (and then some....doing things not in their "job description" that doesn't even cross their minds)
So just a little appreciate from someone they know with the rest of the board backing me, might just make their day.

saying ignorantly that this is a dream job is blindly stupid. It certainly does appear so on the face of it. But those guys travel extensively, they work tirelessly getting things set up over night, have insane fans to deal with etc, they are away from their families for long stretches....all to bring the show to us.
Its not difficult to say thanks is it?
And sure why not thank those who work at burger King? I know i always try and say thank you to those who do things for me, its called being polite.
this may seem like a dream job to us fans, because we love the band, but will the fascination wear off after a year on the road? constantly travelling. i think it may seem like the perfect job because you see some shows and meet the band? if thats the case that would soon wear off. I bet some roadies would love to go see the band as a casual fan and enjoy the show in that capacity.
Some jobs seem great on the face of it, for example zoo keeper (for any animal lover), dolphin trainers, footballers, etc etc, hell even porn stars, but you have to try and appreciate what you see and expect will not be the full story.
These guys bring us all a great deal of entertainment and joy, why shouldnt they get a quick thanks??

I didn't say it was an easy job...but come on....a roadie is a job that is a labor of love! and it's a profession that they chose.....so let's not bust out the violin and make it look like they are coal miners ok....besides i was just fucking around with the OP..ya know i likes ta have fun ....def much love to ALL the people who make a show happen!!!
when the lights fade and the intro music starts it's at that moment when i feel like there is no other place on earth i'd rather be than rocking out with fellow fans in front of the baddest mother fuckers on the planet!!
It is a labour of love but in all honesty, they don't get paid big bucks for it. So I think this is a good idea to share the thanks. They do a good job and don't get the credit they deserve.
Rock on!!!!
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
Yah, sure, I'll throw my thanks in there. 10c folks deal with a lot of crap from us, and typically pretty patiently. I approve! *insert outmoded Barrack-fist-bumping-Michelle image here*
You can add me to the list. Every time I see a band I marvel at the amount of time and effort it must take to get things up and running smoothly. High fives to them.
