My only point in this whole thread is that, IMO, people like Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. throw total bullshit accusations out there and that certain people lap it up and divert attention from the real problems facing our country. I think my post at the top of this page pretty well sums it up. Cosmo, soulsinging and norm give you rational arguments and you respond with "what planet are you living on, dude?" America can do wrong, but compared to every other country in the world we do it a lot less than them, and we also do way more right.
I know that this thread was started about Beck calling Obama a racist and I think that's pretty damn funny. Now the left is all bent out of shape about it because according to them it was an unfounded and untrue statement. But isn't that what the left has been doing since Obama threw his hat into the Presidental ring? Every time anybody disagrees with Obama the first response by the left wingers is to call that person a racist. All Beck did was what the Democrats have been doing from the start.
Is Obama racist? I have no clue, and really could care less. I do know however that I'm not racist and I disagree with on just about every issue. It's not because he's black, it's because he's wrong and his idiot decisions are leading this country in the wrong direction.

I responded with that because according to SS he thinks nothing has changed since the days of the jim crowe laws and thats nuts IMO
can you name one bullshit accusation that O'reilly has ever made towards anybody without facts to back it up ? He's been more fair to Obama than anybody has on fox. I get sick and tired of people like you bashing him when you more then likely don't even watch his show. Why don't you stop getting your info from far left web sites and news organazations and do your own research like maybe watch the guys show.0 -

The global wheat supply has tightened substantially due to a number of weather-related problems in several countries including the U.S. The most severe problem has been two consecutive extreme droughts in Australia. The 2006 Australian crop was down approximately 66% from normal and the 2007 crop was about 46% below normal. Australia usually is the world’s second or third largest wheat exporter, after the U.S. and sometimes ranking third after Canada.
Weather problems, not ethanol, drove wheat prices to historic levels.

Whereas previous dramatic rises in world grain prices were weather-induced, this one is policy-induced and can be dealt with by policy adjustments. The crop fuels program that currently satisfies scarcely 3 percent of U.S. gasoline needs is simply not worth the human suffering and political chaos it is causing. If the entire U.S. grain harvest were converted into ethanol, it would satisfy scarcely 18 percent of our automotive fuel needs.
The irony is that U.S. taxpayers, by subsidizing the conversion of grain into ethanol, are in effect financing a rise in their own food prices. It is time to end the subsidy for converting food into fuel and to do it quickly before the deteriorating world food situation spirals out of control.

My only, only, only point was that Beck called Obama "racist" and I think there's about zero evidence of that. The quotes from Obama's book don't convince me otherwise.

they use words like 'if' a lot....also they point to corn futures...maybe it's being raised by speculators. anyway, the price of corn has been dropping, in fact in the past 3 months it's dropped 30%

brandon10 wrote:soulsinging wrote:evenflow wrote:I guess what happened 40 years ago gives you right to hate us all. I mean even though I wasn't even born 40 years ago since I am white I guess I do owe somebody something. Besides everybody knows that it's alright to hate on whitey because every one of us was born with a silver spoon in our mouth and the password to eventually be "The Man". Just growing up with every roadblock removed from my path makes me deserving of your anger  .
I guess if I had to grow up knowing that I'll never be a Harvard educated President I would hate every white....oh wait, he is that. Now the crackers are gonna make him have to come up with another excuse for hating on them. Damn crackers!
Just saying, as a white guy, that a huge portion of the black population grew up under Jim Crow and watched on tv as kids while their fellows were fire hosed in the streets of Alabama. Maybe things have changed, but it hasn't been THAT long. And personally, I think they're entitled to a bit of a grudge about it and be a little skeptical when they hear white America tell them to quit whining because we're going to play nice from now on. We're talking black men and women in their 50s that grew up under blatant, violent, cruel racism. Separate but equal. When we finally let that go, Americans ran to the suburbs and in the 80s let the cities rot and tried to ignore any of the problems of poverty facing urban black America. So we're talking about 2 generations of blacks that didn't exactly get the nicest treatment from mainstream white America. It's only this most recent, youngest generation, thanks to the struggles of people like Obama to overcome that adversity, that are growing up under anything remotely approximating real equality.
So I'm not going to cry foul that a lot of black Americans that grew up knowing their parents weren't allowed to sit with white folks and that they themselves were really only allowed to because of federal military intervention are kind of angry about it. They're entitled. I'm not going to tell them to shut up or tell them they're wrong to remember that and not trust us. I'm going to show through my actions that we understand we wronged them and we are trying to let go of those old ways. Dismissing their legit grievances will not help things. Accepting their basic truth and reasonableness and showing them things aren't like that anymore is the only way to move past it. And you can't do that overnight. It takes time.
It's the Neocon way. Never apologize. America can do no wrong. And these inbred racist fuckers follow these thoughts, even onto message boards.
actually, many neocons, like one of the founders of the neocon thinktank Project For A New American Century, were Obama supporters....don't compete; coexist
