I'm crying on the inside for how hard you crackers have had it in America. Your own separate bathrooms, schools and facilities right up until just 40 years ago when we finally granted you equality and let you go to school with the black kids.
I guess what happened 40 years ago gives you right to hate us all. I mean even though I wasn't even born 40 years ago since I am white I guess I do owe somebody something. Besides everybody knows that it's alright to hate on whitey because every one of us was born with a silver spoon in our mouth and the password to eventually be "The Man". Just growing up with every roadblock removed from my path makes me deserving of your anger  .
I guess if I had to grow up knowing that I'll never be a Harvard educated President I would hate every white....oh wait, he is that. Now the crackers are gonna make him have to come up with another excuse for hating on them. Damn crackers!
Just saying, as a white guy, that a huge portion of the black population grew up under Jim Crow and watched on tv as kids while their fellows were fire hosed in the streets of Alabama. Maybe things have changed, but it hasn't been THAT long. And personally, I think they're entitled to a bit of a grudge about it and be a little skeptical when they hear white America tell them to quit whining because we're going to play nice from now on. We're talking black men and women in their 50s that grew up under blatant, violent, cruel racism. Separate but equal. When we finally let that go, Americans ran to the suburbs and in the 80s let the cities rot and tried to ignore any of the problems of poverty facing urban black America. So we're talking about 2 generations of blacks that didn't exactly get the nicest treatment from mainstream white America. It's only this most recent, youngest generation, thanks to the struggles of people like Obama to overcome that adversity, that are growing up under anything remotely approximating real equality.
So I'm not going to cry foul that a lot of black Americans that grew up knowing their parents weren't allowed to sit with white folks and that they themselves were really only allowed to because of federal military intervention are kind of angry about it. They're entitled. I'm not going to tell them to shut up or tell them they're wrong to remember that and not trust us. I'm going to show through my actions that we understand we wronged them and we are trying to let go of those old ways. Dismissing their legit grievances will not help things. Accepting their basic truth and reasonableness and showing them things aren't like that anymore is the only way to move past it. And you can't do that overnight. It takes time.
The first part was very well put.
Give me a break with this 40 years ago bullshit. FYI, not ALL whites were apart of that.
40 years ago is a long time in this day and age, live in the fucking now people.
You don't deserve anyting different then I do. I have nice things because I WORK MY ASS OFF!
I dont take hand outs from the goverment. If I need more money I get a second job period!
I can't stand this type of nonsense.
Makes me sick, this Liberal way of thinking.
NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING!!! YOU OWE YOU'RE SELF!
The Cuban Missile Crisis was 40 years ago... do you trust Russia and communist nuclear powers because since then they've said "it's all cool, we won't do that stuff anymore"? Or did growing up under the constant threat of communist nuclear annihilation leave a bit of a mark that makes you a bit leery of just how much they mean it?
40 years ago is nothing.
Jesus lived 2000 years ago, and you all keep ranting about him to me and how relevant he still is. As long as we're talking shelf life here... (thank Bill)

Can you give me the specific webpage... because I like to read things in their full context... because sometimes it real easy to extract one sentence and create a completely different meaning from it.

and i really don't want to buy his book.
I don't even need to read the text to see that these quotes were so clearly and grossly out of context that you'd have to be 3-4 generations of inbred to believe it means Obama's a racist. He's clearly discussing his struggles to come to terms with the legacy of Jim Crow and racism, which he grew up under, and find a way to move past those things... as we all should be doing. What we shouldn't be doing is expecting or demanding that it happen overnight, because that isn't the way things work.

AND when they had that food shortage he kept saying it was because of having to use that food for ethanol, he said this for at least a month. 1 night he had some guy on that told him ethanol came from corn and the shortage was over wheat so ethanol had nothing to do with it. he accepted it for that night but the very next night he was back to saying the food shortage was caused because of ethanol.
While Beck maybe a little looney, I don't see a problem with what you are referring to above. Higher food prices/shortage can in part be attributed to increased production of ethanol, which is produced from corn. The increased production of ethanol caused a shift in demand for corn which drove prices of corn up, therefore more farmers plant corn, therefore less farmers plant wheat. This causes an increase in price in corn products/wheat products/and meat products, as more corn is used for fuel and less for human consumption and animal feed...or you can call me crazy too

The U.S. is the world's #1 exporter, and U.S. farmers are churning away, exporting about 16.5m tons of wheat this year, almost double the amount they sold in the same period last year. However, a severe drought cut Australia's wheat crop last year to just 10 million tons, less than half the year before. Meanwhile, Ukraine, the world's eighth-biggest wheat exporter, is already cutting exports after drought cut its grain harvest to 30 million tons, its smallest since 2003. The country will ship 58 percent less grain this year, according to its Agricultural Ministry."

This is from the agricultural marketing resource center:
The global wheat supply has tightened substantially due to a number of weather-related problems in several countries including the U.S. The most severe problem has been two consecutive extreme droughts in Australia. The 2006 Australian crop was down approximately 66% from normal and the 2007 crop was about 46% below normal. Australia usually is the world’s second or third largest wheat exporter, after the U.S. and sometimes ranking third after Canada.
Weather problems, not ethanol, drove wheat prices to historic levels.

My only point in this whole thread is that, IMO, people like Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc. throw total bullshit accusations out there and that certain people lap it up and divert attention from the real problems facing our country. I think my post at the top of this page pretty well sums it up. Cosmo, soulsinging and norm give you rational arguments and you respond with "what planet are you living on, dude?" That's all.

America can do wrong, but compared to every other country in the world we do it a lot less than them, and we also do way more right.
I know that this thread was started about Beck calling Obama a racist and I think that's pretty damn funny. Now the left is all bent out of shape about it because according to them it was an unfounded and untrue statement. But isn't that what the left has been doing since Obama threw his hat into the Presidental ring? Every time anybody disagrees with Obama the first response by the left wingers is to call that person a racist. All Beck did was what the Democrats have been doing from the start.
Is Obama racist? I have no clue, and really could care less. I do know however that I'm not racist and I disagree with on just about every issue. It's not because he's black, it's because he's wrong and his idiot decisions are leading this country in the wrong direction.
I do think it's funny whenever democrats say things like

because that means they don't have an intelligent response to what I've said and just start with personal attacks. Just accept it, you've already proven that you're not very bright, so it should come as no surprise whenever that you can't stick to the facts of a political debate so you start name calling .

I responded with that because according to SS he thinks nothing has changed since the days of the jim crowe laws and thats nuts IMO
can you name one bullshit accusation that O'reilly has ever made towards anybody without facts to back it up ? He's been more fair to Obama than anybody has on fox. Whereas previous dramatic rises in world grain prices were weather-induced, this one is policy-induced and can be dealt with by policy adjustments. The crop fuels program that currently satisfies scarcely 3 percent of U.S. gasoline needs is simply not worth the human suffering and political chaos it is causing. If the entire U.S. grain harvest were converted into ethanol, it would satisfy scarcely 18 percent of our automotive fuel needs.
The irony is that U.S. taxpayers, by subsidizing the conversion of grain into ethanol, are in effect financing a rise in their own food prices. It is time to end the subsidy for converting food into fuel and to do it quickly before the deteriorating world food situation spirals out of control.
I get sick and tired of people like you bashing him when you more then likely don't even watch his show. Why don't you stop getting your info from far left web sites and news organazations and do your own research like maybe watch the guys show.
Are you gonna be in Seattle or Salt Lake? I'll buy you a beer and we'll talk. Really. No rolling eyes smilie. I mean it. Internet arguing sucks.
My only, only, only point was that Beck called Obama "racist" and I think there's about zero evidence of that. The quotes from Obama's book don't convince me otherwise.
Fuck. This is why I try to stay out of the MT for the most part.

While weather and harvest no doubt plays a role, ethanol production does as well.
they use words like 'if' a lot....also they point to corn futures...maybe it's being raised by speculators. anyway, the price of corn has been dropping, in fact in the past 3 months it's dropped 30%
anyway, i agree ethanol isn't worth it

no see your posts is exactly why i and many other don't come around here anymore. right away you throw a cheap dig at me and are just begging to get into a pissing match. i contributed a hell alot of more than you or any other new regular will do. least the old crew debated and didn't get into pissing match or argue right away like you all seem to do now a days in here. I've said my peace and now i can see why i stay away from here. thanks for further proving my point.
I'm glad my2hands is still posting his daily bring them the fuck home now thread. he's not giving up on the cause like alota americans have. least thats something worth caring for and not what some hack journalists says.

Have you read Dreams From My Father? I know a lot of people either want to deny it or jump down Beck's throat and call him crazy, but there are some pretty disturbing things that 'ol Obama has to say about whitey. I'm going to have to go back and find the specific quotes, and since I'm at work right now it'll take me a second, but I'll post 'em up.
All I know is that if a white politician was the one who wrote a book saying the things that he said they would be labled a racist, and the NAACP would be trying to make sure they never held a job again.
But then again I guess it's a non-issue since there's no such thing as reverse racism  .
I'm crying on the inside for how hard you crackers have had it in America. Your own separate bathrooms, schools and facilities right up until just 40 years ago when we finally granted you equality and let you go to school with the black kids.

It's the Neocon way. Never apologize. America can do no wrong. And these inbred racist fuckers follow these thoughts, even onto message boards.
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
I can post the link later
" Supplies have been hurt by droughts in Ukraine, Europe, Canada and Australia, which are four of the world's leading wheat producing. The U.S. is the world's #1 exporter, and U.S. farmers are churning away, exporting about 16.5m tons of wheat this year, almost double the amount they sold in the same period last year.
I'm just saying I think he has attention (as in wanting it) and insecurity issues

What planet are you living on dude? Arican americans have every same every same right and have the same choices that whites have and We now have an african american as president if that's not enough proof that things have changed since the 50's and 60's then you're thinking is way off.

Then why don't you give me an example instead of rolling your eyes because all it does make you look ignorant

I'm not apologizing because I haven't done anything to apologize for.
I do think it's funny whenever democrats say things like because that means they don't have an intelligent response to what I've said and just start with personal attacks.

I get sick and tired of people like you bashing him when you more then likely don't even watch his show. Why don't you stop getting your info from far left web sites and news organazations and do your own research like maybe watch the guys show.
You're a poopie head.
If you believe the shit that Beck and Hannity spew then I won't waste my energy with a thoughtful response. Because you are too far gone. It would be a waste of my time and energy.
Man. This post is f'd up. starting with the first sentence
From, http://www.earth-policy.org/Updates/2008/Update69.htm
Also, the following article;

While weather and harvest no doubt plays a role, ethanol production does as well.

My only, only, only point was that Beck called Obama "racist" and I think there's about zero evidence of that. The quotes from Obama's book don't convince me otherwise.
Fuck. This is why I try to stay out of the MT for the most part.

they use words like 'if' a lot....also they point to corn futures...maybe it's being raised by speculators. anyway, the price of corn has been dropping, in fact in the past 3 months it's dropped 30%
anyway, i agree ethanol isn't worth it
