*** Chicago 2 Fanviews Here 8/24/09 ***

The band was simply amazing with never ending energy. It was the best PJ show I have ever attended. While "epic" is a very bold statement, I would call this show as close to that as possible.

I'm still trying to remember a PJ show that I liked better than night 2…I've only been going to PJ shows since 2000, so I don't have a huge number of experience to judge from, but I struggle with remembering any show that left me as floored as night 2. State College 03, maybe…but this show was more streamlined and cleanly executed.

Anyway, me and the guy I was with were both in awe after Monday's show. We both thought night 1 was great, but something about night 2 topped it. The show was just so solid - from the crowd's energy level to the band's energy level to the set list. Brother was the only song I had never heard live, but the familiar songs didn't phase me. In My Tree was unreal, too. When it started with the original drums, I was really excited. Even songs that I've heard live so many times (i.e. Better Man, Even Flow, Daughter) had extra life injected into to them.

After seeing the band over 20 times now, I sometimes wonder what the band can possibly do to beat some of my previous experiences, but they did it again Monday. I can't pinpoint the reasons, but as a show - from start to finish - it was simply perfect. I just hope that the bootleg is as good as I remember it. It's funny…whenever I start to drift away a little and think about skipping a show here and there, PJ will play a show like this and reaffirm why I need to travel all over the damn country chasing the experience. Great two shows and definitely worth the trip! Looking forward to my next show on Halloween…oh…and BACKSPACER!!! (Got Some and The Fixer are so good live)

This wasn't two separate shows in the same city, this was one 2-part show. It was a marathon 4.5 hour concert, with a 22 hour encore break in the middle. It was a concert to be remembered and cherished. "


Nicely put. Couldn't have said it better. Trip well worth it from Atlantic Canada. Loved Chicago.

I haven't been around these parts in ages....


It's been a long time since I've seen the band. In 2006 had my first set of twins and missed that tour. got by inbetween with the solo show in Chicago last year. 2008 has been a doozey of a year for my little family to say the least....added another bean to our pod Feb 2009 and lost her twin sister the same day. Bittersweet indeed. So needless to say, I needed these shows. I needed them bad. I happened upon the ticket sales online here and actually got both nights. We laid out the plans...it would be a family trip. in the day do the fun kid things like the zoo and museum. at night, go to the concerts. It turned out beautifully. We stayed downtown and had so much fun. Loved my 3 yr old sporting his Pearl Jam shirt all around. Night one was just...ah....for me, personally, it was cathartic. They started with Long Road which I've heard numerous times at my shows, but this time it was different. I recently had the lyric "I have wished for so long, how I wish for you today" stamped on a charm and put on a necklace in honor of my daughter who passed 45 minutes into her life. Hearing it for the first time live since that day...pierced my heart and soul. I couldn't help but cry. The night was beautiful for my husband and I. Night 2 was amazing, alot louder for some reason but so high energy it was great to get our spirits back up after such a long year. There's just something about going to see they guys who pour their hearts and souls into their craft that just turns you back around, gets you back on track. But I needn't remind you all of that. You know that feeling all too well, too, I'm sure.

So thanks for a great experience, guys. As always, forever grateful and indebted.

I read a review of Chicago I the morning after Chicago II. Mentioned the days of Ed climbing things may be reaching an end and I smiled ear to ear with the thought of Ed standing on that speaker Monday night.
