you are in the fucking building, you did not have to pay a tout, or deal with ticket bastard
enjoy the show, and just rock the fuck out wherever you may be sitting
We were also in the 300s. We've never had such bad seats for their show. I understand they can't reserve the whole venue for fan club members, but in this economy, they should have been straightforward with fans and let them know where their seats would be and that they weren't as good as years past. While I love the band had I known I would have seen the show from the nosebleeds with limited views, I might have rethought the purchase or tried my luck with ticketmaster.
That show had the most fan club I have seen and I have been to over 20 shows. The whole floor was fan club. I would say the crowd was about 80% to 85% fan club. Thats a lot.
i agree that it would be nice to at least know where your sitting prior. I was up in Sec.334 next to a bunch of 10 clubbers. I was jacked just to be at the show and we rocked out but,if i would of had prior knowledge of the nose bleeds i was in i would have upgraded. Oh well, it was still PJ!!!!!!!!!!!

There were just a ton of 10C members there. Yes, I know there were some "outsiders" mixed in but when PJ only announces one show for the entire U.S., everyone is going to jump on them.
Well 1st off the show was great and set was awesome.
The problem here which everyone is talking about and I hope I can figure out the method behind this madness for everyone. We were in sec 318 and I am a 244xxx (6 years) and were 4 rows from the highest seats. The people directly behind us on our left were 402xxx (2 years) were at the DC show with seats in 100s from what they said. Next to them and directly behind us on our right were 186xxx (10 years). So in theory seniority played no role in the seating assignments and I heard on guy say he has been a member since '93 but I didn't get his 10c number. Entire section was 10c member and everyone seem irate but rolled with it. I even heard that day of there were some 100s still available on TM, don't know if this is true or not but...Anyway I would just like to find out the reason behind this and I hope to God that TM didn't bump 10c members in favor of giving the better tix to brokers to get more money for the tix. Reason is I know if I was a member for 10+ years and didn't have my membership lapse and was flying in from either the West or East cost only to find out I was in the nose bleeds I would like an answer. It just seemed there was a confetti mix of what your member ID is and where you sat. It was my understanding that the lower the number you are closer and goes back from their if I am wrong please correct me on this.
I am not bitching by any means I would just like an answers for this so we can put this thread to bed.
I was in 305 last night, member # 423xxx, just picked up today's tickets, and i'm in 102 row 3.
not bad at all. must be a fraction of 10c members today compared to yesterday.

Shit. I have a worse 10c number. I'm praying I'm not in the 300's. I thought the point of 10c tickets was to avoid the shitty seats way up.
Depends on the size of the venue and how many tickets the 10C got. In a smaller venue, with a 10C# in the 400k area...no offense but you won't be getting great seats. You're at the show....be happy.

I'm sorry, but if that's true--186,000 and 4 rows from the ceiling in the 300s...that sucks. There had to have been a mistake somehow when they distributed these tix.

I called the fan club and they said they bought a large amount of tix for yesterday's show. They thought they were doing a good thing and didn't realize longtime fans might be disappointed about sitting in the nosebleeds. While I appreciate all the tix being bought, had I known they were in the 300s, I would have tried ticketmaster since people walked up to the box office last night and bought far better tix for face value.
The FC said they can't please everyone and won't try. They said being in the FC doesn't guarantee good seats and people should never expect to have quality seats as the nosebleeds are always a possibility.
They said they put a disclaimer on the Web site about the possibility of bad seats, but I never saw this unless it was posted after tix were bought. If that's the case it's pointless since you can't return the tix anyway. Did anyone see anything like this?
From the site:
We reserve the best seats in the house for fan club tickets, starting from the first rows on the floor and extending back. We also reserve the side sections closest to the stage when necessary. All Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating unless otherwise announced.
I think most of the complaints are the 300 level sections such as what I received. These are hardly "best seats in the house".

yes and due to the overwheling amount of 10c members going to this show, people were seated higher up...10c cannot secure all the best seats from ticketmaster
Since the beginning of the Ten Club, Pearl Jam has been dedicated to making sure that fans get priority seating whenever possible. Sometimes, there are circumstances beyond our control that limit our ability to do this. But we go to bat for you...and most of the time, we find a way.
ummmm...is the box office staff pulling some fast ones? :? 10c doesnt allocate seats behind the stage.
i went to Boston 2004 and had 10C seats behind the stage... 14 rows from the stage...
it was pretty decent actually!!!
My thoughts on this whole thread are as follows:
I do hear ya on this one. That doesn't seem normal. The ONLY explanation I can think of is that they had a lot of 10C seats. And these were the first US shows announced, so I would think that alot of 10C members would have wanted to go to this show.
Hopefully, we'll find out after/during the show if any non-10C members got better seats.
In Toronto on Friday, a girl and some deuchbag had better seats than me... they got it through his company. I've been member since 2002... wasn't thrilled about that.. but what can ya do.
My only hope for you is that the show is just fuckin' awesome and it doesn't matter where you're sitting...
better in the arena than in the parking lot.... or on the thread watching the setlist come in as I will be doing.
boston 2004 was not 10c tix, but a 10c TM presale. i remember well b/c i managed to score 8th row mike's side night 1.....and row 2 dead center behind the stage night 2. just sayin'. :P
My girlfriend is a VERY HIGH 10C number - 412XXX and is up in the 300s.
I am 178XXX and I am section 112, row 16
My friend is 140XXX and is section 121, row 20.
Must be FULL OF 10C tonight...
and i hope you ANd your GF used YOU seats, together...or really, she should'nt be your GF anymore.
j/k
hope you had a blast...hope everyone has a blast tonight!
mem # 414042, i was in 317 last night, literally the highest row of the united center. not sure what gives, been on the floor twice before w/ fan club tickets at UC. :( hope for better tonight

Well, my 10c# is 64xxx. They didnt have my FREAKING TICKETS!!!!!
I was near heartattack. But they made it right. Someone with 10c# 61xxx was not able to attend so they gave he their tickets. However, I wonder what would have happened if those tickets werent available because I didnt see any empty seats on the floor where mine should have been?
I had 5th row seats 1 and 2. Previously at the UC I have been in the third row. So 5th row makes sense with the first 2 being lottery.

I am a little pissed about the 10C seat assignment for Chicago 1, and here is why.
I am a 17xxxx. When the show was announced, I figured it would be my only shot at seeing PJ this tour. I bent rules at work and in my personal life to make room in the schedule, and I bought the seats. Then they added the second show. Oh well, I have mine, I thought.
When I got the tickets, I couldn't believe my eyes. Third level, all the way back where the stadium curves? I traveled 1000 miles for that? If these had been offered on TM, I would not have bothered, unless the show was local, and I mean IN my hometown.
10C should either reveal the tickets you are buying to give you a chance to decline, or have some kind of standard, like the tickets are guaranteed to be at least 50%'ers, i.e. as good as at least half the tickets in the house. Or at the very least, let you know far enough in advance to decide whether you want to spend a fortune and travel 1000's of miles to sit in seats that were so far away there was a sound delay. Even if I had known what they were AFTER I bought them, I could have canceled the trip and tried for another city, or saved my time and cash.
all they would've had to do was communicate this and there would be no problems? when is the last time 10c seats have been so bad, period, regardless of numbers?

"Special note for those buying 10C seats for Chicago: Because 10C is committed to getting tickets to any 10C member who wants to attend, it is possible your seats may be third level seats on the opposite side of the arena from the stage. The United Center is a very large venue, and some members may be so far away that the next song begins before the sound from the previous song has finished echoing."

i agree, god damn seats were too high, i would have just traveled to another city. something should have been said about the quality of the tickets before the general public sale. Would have just waited. I appreciate the service, but come on, i would not have picked chicago 1 if i had known the tix were that bad. I got laid off from my job and really had to put every bit of money i had into going to this show, if not just for my sanity, and after scrimping and saving to get there from minneapolis in a rickety car with a donut on it for gods sake, I am mortified to find out that my tix were the third level across the arena.
Next time with high demand a message needs to be said about quality of the tickets. If anything just to let people lower their expectations before the show.
Good thing is there were a lot of ten clubbers there. bad thing is everyone started the show with the same level of disappointment. But PJ rocked anyway. . .

Well I found the old link that talks about the news of Chicago show that was added for 8/23. Anyway for anyone interested there is a email address if you want to discuss your issue or possibly get an answer to the ticket fiasco. There is also a 800 number if anyone cares and wants to reply back and find out what heard and fill everyone else in.
Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating and will be allocated by seniority. Seat locations will be reserved from the 1st row on the floor, extending back, and the side sections closest to the stage. The longer you have been in the fan club, the closer your seats will be to the stage. Newer members should not expect prime seat locations. Proximity to the stage is contingent on the amount of members in attendance. Seat location is NOT revealed prior to the performance.
I guess this verbage is why I had a beef with my 10c tix for 8/23
I know the demand from 10c members was probably a record breaker and I do appreciate the 10c and know they have a hard job dealing with some of us but it sure would have been nice to know that demand was so high that some seats might be as far from the stage as humanly possible.
I mean it says right in that notice that they would be "1st row on the floor, extending back, and the side sections closest to the stage."
I checked ticketmaster on 8/23 around 3pm and they were selling tix on the second level on Stone's side that would have been much better than the seats I received. I realize those didn't open up until 8/23
again...I know the 10c has a hard job and I appreciate them...I hope this was a lesson learned because it was a real disappointing surprise to be that far away from the stage
what would be ideal?
maybe after the pre-sale closed and the ticket numbers were known we had the option to cancel our order once they realized they would be filling up sec 307, etc with 10c members....then I have the option to take my chances with the lottery or get tix on my own
