Eddie I followed you to Hawaii all three shows not "lucky" enough to get tenclub tickets but callled the theatres directly got 6th row, 1st row, and 10th row. Who knows maybe Eddie will pull us nosebleed seaters backstage like Dave Matthews did with his warehouse club members here last summer. Now that would be cool. Tomorrow night I paid a ticketbroker so I know I have a great seat. But I paid big because I'm a loyal fan!!! Tell me why I should join the tenclub again???
thanx, i wish it wasn't true, but if you want good seat you can't get them through 10c.0 -

I'm with you on this one. I know the history and understand why Pearl Jam formed the 10 club for their loyal fans. This is what is posted under ten club tickets:Seat location is not revealed until tickets are collected on the day of the show.
We reserve the best seats in the house for fan club tickets, starting from the first rows on the floor and extending back. We also reserve the side sections closest to the stage when necessary. All Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating unless otherwise announced.
Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating and allocated by membership seniority, with the exception of rows 1-2 and rows 9-10 which will be used for random allocation./quote]
This is my issue: section 317 is the best seat in the house? I am a new member, 412xxx FC#, and if these are the tickets I deserve for being a new member, so be it. However, I would have loved to have known that when my credit card was charged on May 4th that my 2 x $66 plus fee pre-sale ten club tickets, were in section 317. I would have said, fine, but no thanks, I will go the general sale route on Saturday. I know I would have gotten better tixs for the same price, plus I would not have been so deluded for 3 months in thinking I had decent tickets.
I'm on Wilco worlds email list and get the pre-sale emails from them. While they aren't playing the UC, I LOVE how they handle their pre-sale. Even though it is only UIC pavillion, they still sell it out quickly, with dibs on the good seats to their fans. And I know where I am sitting in October.0 -

i went to Boston 2004 and had 10C seats behind the stage... 14 rows from the stage...
it was pretty decent actually!!!
My thoughts on this whole thread are as follows:
I do hear ya on this one. That doesn't seem normal. The ONLY explanation I can think of is that they had a lot of 10C seats. And these were the first US shows announced, so I would think that alot of 10C members would have wanted to go to this show.
Hopefully, we'll find out after/during the show if any non-10C members got better seats.
In Toronto on Friday, a girl and some deuchbag had better seats than me... they got it through his company. I've been member since 2002... wasn't thrilled about that.. but what can ya do.
My only hope for you is that the show is just fuckin' awesome and it doesn't matter where you're sitting...
better in the arena than in the parking lot.... or on the thread watching the setlist come inas I will be doing.

so it's 10c's fault you didn't bother to read the terms and agreement and the 10c policies?0 -

This is my perspective as someone with a 400xxx+ number (I know, not that anyone asked):
I buy 10 Club tickets for the shot at winning the lottery. I know that, otherwise, I will not have great seats. While I did not get great seats through Comcast for the 10/31 show, I figure odds are that those seats will be about equivalent to the 10 Club tickets I get for 10/31 (four of us are going, in case you were wondering).
But, here's the thing: I got public sale tickets to last year's shows, well after the tickets went on sale. The seats were not "great" -- in Camden, we were in the last row of the pavilion. And you know what? -- We had a freaking amazing time.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't need to be close enough for Ed to sweat on me to enjoy myself. As long as my number does not mean that we spend 10/31 sitting out by the box office with headphones, I'll be happy.

Norm, I'm not following you on this one. I previewed my posts before I submitted them. I am savvy on the terms and agreement and the 10c policies and don't blame anyone. I guess my interpretation doesn't jive with yours.
I am 42 years old with a bunch of kids and love to go to shows. I've no pblm paying the $ and have had good experiences in the past with 10c tickets and pearl jam shows, especially the HOB benefit. This was not good and I am voicing that. I've found the tone of all these posts to be mellow, with most people passing on their experiences and opinions. No laying of blame, at least in the posts I've read.
Reason I am still on the computer? My husband is the 10c member, I signed him up and take care of all the arrangements. Couldn't find a sitter so he is with a buddy having a blast, listening to Bad Religion (who I love)- regardless of the seat location. He was the one who couldn't believe I paid that much money for those seats and is why I came to this forum to get some insight.
Enjoy the show Norm!0 -

i guess i'm a little confused...you are upset with your seats yet your 10c # is very high...were you expecting better? this show has alot of 10c members with very low numbers so recent members unfortunately are getting not so great seats...sucks i know but that's the chance you take when buying tix from 10c
sorry you couldn't find a sitter....i would love to be at the show regardless of where i would be sitting...bad religion and pj..that's a win-win!!0 -
my deal is that I went on after my husband picked up the tixs and could have gotten better seats via ticketmaster this afternoon. (and would have bought them for myself and a friend if I could have found the sitter!)
Oh well. It's been a great concert season in Chicago, elton john at Wrigley, followed by 3 days of Pitchfork Fest-the National and Flaming Lips!- guess I have already spent too much $$ for babysitters! But its been worth it
and Dave Grohl at the Metro!
PS Have you been to the UC? 317 are my great blackhawk tixs-great for hockey, good for a show, but not when you think being a 10cc would get you in the 200 level. live and learn0 -
I think the people who are complaining are doing so because they figured even though they might be far away with a high number, they would be able to see the show. Being behind the stage in the 300 level no less, you're not gonna see much. Those are like the seats they sell on Ticketmaster, when all the other seats have sold out and they squeeze in more people by "opening up the back" if I recall. Wouldn't most people be in the 200 or 300 level somewhere in FRONT of the stage?
I sat behind the stage once at MSG 2003, think it was 2nd level, and it was actually kind of cool...to do once. You get to see the crowd react, and get to see Matt playing, get to see the setlist spoilers (if you have binoculars), get to see the celebs on the side-stage. It was kind of cool. But like one poster said, those were ticketmaster tickets. I wouldn't expect to be behind the stage with ten club tickets, no matter how bad my number. They could have easily said "we have way too many people going to this show, and have reserved tickets behind the stage; there is a chance you may be seated behind the stage with a partial view" and offered voluntary refunds (kind of like San Francisco 2006 when it went GA after the original sale).ABQ 93, Las Cruces 95, ABQ 98, Bridge School 10/30/99, Lubbock 00, ABQ 00, Denver 03, State College 03, San Diego 03, Vegas 03, PHX 03, D.C. 03, Camden 7/5/03, NYC 7/8/03 + 7/9/03, Vegas 06, San Francisco 7/15/06 + 7/16/06 + 7/18/06, Kansas City 10, [EV:ABQ 11/6/12], Chicago 13, PHX 13, Denver 14--PJ24!, Telluride 16, Chicago 8/20/16, Chicago 8/18/18, Phoenix 22, Denver 22, Vegas 5/16/24

THERE WERE NO SEATS BEHIND THE STAGE AT THE UNITED CENTER.
none. there was a big backdrop, and the seats behind the stage were closed off.
side stage, yes. behind stage, no.
now that that's settled, I'm off to bed. 30th bday tomorrow, gotta get to work early, and seeing some band tomorrow night. hope theyre decent.Found: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)
