I think people look at this fan club 10C ticket situation all wrong. I originally joined the 10C to make sure I had the best chance to get ANY ticket. The fact that normally they are pretty good (my 10C # is 383xxx) has always been a huge BONUS. The fact I pay a crumby 20 bucks a year and get this opportunity plus all the other goodies seems a bloody bargain. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL YOU COMPLAINERS? I'm reluctant to say anything. It's all been said.
But I will say this, I saw Pearl Jam in college at the Off-Ramp in 1991 in Seattle. I was close enough to get hit by Eddie's sweat.
I saw them up-close again at Drop in the Park in 92. Soaked and muddied, I had to work hard to get close to the stage. The front barrier began to give under the weight of the crowd, so I backed up. Still, I can find my face in the photo of Eddie swinging from the stage on the Drop in the Park album cover.
I was in the heat and dirt of the mosh pit at The Gorge in 93, when the band opened for Neil Young with Blind Melon. I'll always remember Eddie asking everyone to just pause and take a last look at the sun setting.
That was a week before I started graduate school in Ireland. Within two years, I was a dad, a family man with a career. And I lost touch with Pearl Jam. They played in the background. Didn't know about the fan club. Don't even know if I would have joined if I had heard of 10 Club. I had bigger things to keep me occupied.
But in 2005, I rediscovered the band again. It was right after I bought the Frank Kozik poster for the Gorge show in 93. PJ became a bigger part of my life. I discovered the 10 Club when I typed in Pearl Jam into Google in 2006. I thought, what the heck, I'll join. I got number 393xxx.
I bought tickets to the Portland 06 show at the Schnitzer, where every seat is good. Still, I bought through Ticketmaster and landed in the upper balcony. It didn't matter. I was just happy a great band from my college days was still alive and kicking. I had forgotten how much this band made me feel.
Then, a kind soul on 10 Club from Boston couldn't make it to the first Gorge show in 06, so he transferred his tickets to me. I didn't care what his number was. I just wanted to be there. It turned out to be pretty good: 10th row, center -- about the same spot I was standing when Eddie asked me to take a last look at the sun 13 years earlier.
Now, I'm 40. This is my first time buying tickets with my 393xxx number through 10 Club. I don't have high hopes for great seats at the shows in Seattle and Portland. Yes, it would be amazing to win the lottery, since I'm bringing a friend to his first PJ shows. But I'm also old enough to have perspective.
No matter where I land, I'll have nothing to complain about. I've been very lucky on my Pearl Jam journey and I've seen and heard some incredible things. I'm just happy this band is still around, still making me feel the way they did nearly 20 years ago.

since there were originally only 2 philly shows I am hoping most of the 10c members got tickets to the first 2 shows( I couldn't get thru I and my wife tried for almost 2hours on 2 computers) and left better tickets to the last 2 shows for lower numbers like me 42xxxx, anyway probably not but I am hoping so, all I know is it took longer to sellout 10c tickets for the last 2 shows than the first 2, but who knows what the hell that means probably nothing, I will enjoy the show no matter what but decent seats would be a greatly appreciated. Maybe he meant 2006 and not 1996!0

My member number is 158xxx.
I don't think I will be going tonight and its not because I am upset with my seats its becaue I have an implant in y leg and security where my seats normally are is more active in keeping people safe and in their proper place than in the upper deck. I am not a seat snob I am just not willing to get hurt.
It is not fair to keep changing the rules half way through the game.
Why are we not getting out ticket envelopes this tour? How do I know I was even handed the correct tickets?
uhh dude that is a great section you are right next to the stage! Its not 10clubs fault how many people with low numbers are attending chicago tonight.
You're kidding about not being happy with the seats right??? I was in the same section & row. Those were awesome seats. 158XXX normally gets you at the back of the floor in Chicago--plus, this was the only US city when the tickets were sold. There were people from all over the country there--section 121 was great!0 -

Gotcha...but the OP made it in public so he responded accordingly?
If I asked them in private, they would have responded accordingly.
If I made a thread here, then maybe I"d get an answer here also?
i guess you're missing my point. does a 10c staffer have to be so snarky and reveal information that the op didn't post publicly? and if it were the norm for 10c staff to respond to such issues on the board, i might feel differently.
The OP chose to complain in public, so it is only fitting for SLH's response to be public as well.0 -
well that was a fun read.
i wonder when we will hear from the OP as to how good the seats were2003 - Sydney x3,2006 - Reading Festival,2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,2010 - I watched it go to fire!2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

WW20544--my wife and I were in your section, row 3. We loved the seats! Awesome view! Clearly, the people that complained before didn't come back after the show to say "you know, side stage wasn't bad at all." Awesome show. Thanks Ten Club, as always! :-)0

I've been front row, second row and 15th row all without Ten Club. I'm hoping I will get decent seats though now that I am member. I guess the thing with Ten Club is that you have no idea until you get there. That stresses me out a bit, but it's out of my hands so I try not to think about. I've been a big Pearl Jam for a long long time, but I just never got my act together and joined Ten Club. Having said that, the other reason I never joined was that I had met some pretty arrogant Ten Club members at the shows I've seen. I'm hoping that isn't the case this year in Sydney. My Pearl Jam concert footage:
