It does sorta look like they're putting the shiny blue CGI cart before the actual horse. I saw a comment on Twitter yesterday: "When James Cameron reinvents the Smurfs, he goes all out."

Hah. Got the cart/horse order wrong. That'll learn me to talk.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

Ha, well if you get the physicist, chances are they'll be some class of mathemetician as well. And this guy's brother is a historian (Kinda) so I got half your list covered wioth one pair of twins :P
Hardcore scientific folk tend to be fairly pedantic though. takes a bit of getting used to.

I know those bastards sometimes are pedantic but i have a lot of patience and I could be an pedantic asshole too, but I have all sort of friends and people sometimes doesn't undestand how I could have lunch with the person who clean the office and have dinner with the more snobish people in the office, so I don't mind pedantic people if they have something intellectually stimulant to say, I'm always hungry for knowledge and some fart jokes at the same time

    My favourite part:

Fry: You got that from the internet? In my time it was just used to download pornography
    Professor: Oh that's still true
    (on screen)
woman: Doctor, now that we've solved the worlds garbage problems maybe you could help me with my sexual inhibitions
Doctor: with gusto (and begins to undress)

    Wikipedia:
"Actor Harrison Ford has stated that when he and director Ridley Scott were discussing the character prior to filming, they both agreed that Deckard was not a replicant. However, in multiple subsequent interviews, director Ridley Scott has come forward stating that Deckard is in fact a replicant. Ridley also states that Harrison Ford has given up the idea of Deckard being human."

  • Speaking of Ridley Scott, what the fuck happened to him, he makes like 2 of the best sci fi movies EVER, then just buys into his own hype, sticks his thumb up his ass and makes crappy movies like Gladiator for eternity.

    I read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy.

Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Cory Doctorow, Douglas Coupland, and Asimov are among my favorites.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

There is a lot of words i would use to describe Gladiator and none of them are remotely close to brilliant.

I'm a big sci-fi geek. Love books, movies, short stories, comics everything. I read a lot of Asimov and Philip K Dick amongst others. Dune is my favourite book of all time. there's nothing better than kicking back and watching Blade Runner or 2001 for the umpteenth time too
So what about you? what's your favourite movie/book/author whatever, and why. Come on, I can't be the only nerd here.
I've read alot of Asimov. Probably about 30 books or so. That must be 5-10 percent of what he wrote. Love how he eventually brought the Robot and Foundation series together.
