    Yep, it's complete bullshit!

Such a chickenshit move to pit Boise against TCU. God forbid, one of them might beat a big boy, like Utah vs. Alabama a year ago. :problem:

This is the BCS's version of the "Kids Table." Too bad there's growing sentiment much like ours... I say BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT!

That's a great article, thanks for posting! I've always taken the stance that ANY and ALL undefeated teams at the end of the bowl season are "Co-National Champions," regardless of conference. I know no one in the Big XII, aside from Texas, could have won the Mountain West this season (and TCU may have even beaten them). Removong a "National Championship Game" without a true tournament is a step in the right direction.

the final game of a single elimination post-season playoff system

i could argue that the BCS title game is the final game of a single eliminatin tournement. it just happens that there are only two teams in the tourney.

    i'm pro playoff

I sent you a PM. If you have any questions, let me know.

Oh and Roll Fucking Tide! Hopefully my trip to Pasadena will be better than in 2000.

I live a little over an hour south of Birmingham. B'ham is a fine city. It has a good entertainment district adjacent to downtown called "Five Points South" where there are lots of bars/restaurants/live music venues. There are several hotels in walking distance. UAB's campus and the University of Alabama School of Medicine are located near Five Points, so that area is always jumping. South of the city, you have the city of Hoover and the big Galleria shopping mall and the Summitt Shopping Mall that has Saks Fifth Avenue and other high end retailers.

The game will be played in Legion Field where Alabama used to play two to three home games each season before all home games were played on campus in Tuscaloosa. UAB uses Legion Field now as their home field. The stadium itself isn't in a good part of town, but it's fine for visitors to the football games there.

For a 19 year old to make that type of unscripted public speech in front of the cameras and bright lights of Times Square, I stand by my awesomeness remark.

Exactly...what was so great about it was that it was real. No notes, no script. People forget those guys kids.

anybody could get up there and thank people for a couple of minuts thru tears. yes it was real, yes it was semi unscripted, yes it was emotional.

however, that does not make it a great.

i'll see if i can dig up a great one later.

Big Ten is a brand name. nothing wrong with that.

they are doing it for the wrong reason (money) but a playoff would be nice, if it led to a national playoff.

actually, i'd prefer each big ten team play every other team in teh confrence. that would give you 10 games, and leave 2 for out of confrence. one powerpuff tune up game and a game agaist anouther quality team.

  • Two bowl games down - 32 to go!!! I'm one out of two on my picks so far - missed the New Mexico Bowl, but got the St. Pete Bowl. The New Orleans Bowl is tonight and then things really pick up in a few days.

How cheesy. And they actually play this crap on the radio sometimes, not like most duck fans listen to that station. I really enjoy how dedicated all the fans are around here. The whole population of Oregon is about the same as the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and they all seem to be support their team. People are great here, but I find it odd that they import all these thugs and let them continue to act like idiots. When you watch this team, you realize its not just a reputation that comes only from LaGarret Blount. They don't mold these boys into men. And its such a contridiction to the general population. Now, I know its not the whole team, but its more than enough. I'm positive that Ohio State is using the motivation that they are disiplined and are about to face an undisiplined team. I think the game will mostly hinge on Ohio State's defense, but I'd bet OSU is way more focused.

    Good Job OSU.

Pryor finally had his signature game.

I knew we'd lose if we lost the turnover battle, which we did.

Also, If I were Chip Kelly I would've not kicked the Field Goal on 4th and 1. It was the right move on paper, but we hadn't done that all year long, why do it now?

They didn't kick one; they attempted one ;) .

"My" Buckeyes dominated that game. Without giving up an average of 28 yards on the 6 kicks and 1 punt, it may have been a shutout. Definitely a down year for the Pac 10.

Anyone watching tonight's game? 10-7 Boise.

Wasn't a down year for the Pac-10 by any means. It was a down year for their bowl season. ;)
