delunafest @jmccartney79 The full line up will be announced within the coming weeks. No set date though.
I hear Cake is going to be the other headliner announced - heard anything about that?
No. But i'll ask my boy this weekend when i see him.
I've seen cake a few times in small venues and midsized ampitheatres ... they always rock it out, so I wouldn't be too dissapointed ... although I am REALLY holding out for the motherfucking PIXIES ... and I keep being told "it is still on, its just the way the contract reads". We'll see.
Cake has hipster fans like no other. Never seen so many motherfucking hipster "army" hats at a show in my life.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
The band should come play the brand new Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It's a beautiful new facility near the Bama campus. Proceeds of the show could go toward tornado relief. Several other artists are doing that this year. It would be a great gesture on Pearl Jam's behalf if they did this. So far, the Avett Brothers and the Band of Horses have performed there this year. Steely Dan is coming in August, just to name a few.
Being from Tuscaloosa and being affected by this tornado, I think it would be the best thing to happen to the city, and not to mention the best band in the world to play there. Our city really needs as much uplifting as we can get. The rebuilding process is slow, but we are getting there. It still breaks my heart everyday when I travel home from work and see the devastation in my neighborhood and to know that so many people lost their lives on this horrific day.

I doubt we'll see a PJ edition... but I'm still eager to see the rest of the lineup... if you haven't seen Girl Talk before, the guy is awesome... all he really does is sample everyone else's songs, but he works them all together so intricately it is awesome... sampling like 4 or 5 different songs for different genre's into a single collaboration... (yes, he is essentially another dance DJ... but really really good at it)...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
