I'd love to hear PJ covering a Replacements album, maybe Tim or Sorry Ma!

I started to enjoy Phish again at Mountain View, which was a reasonably strong performance (with some notable low points). They were absolutely terrible during the Hiatus Interruptus period but they're starting to figure out the "mature band" thing. I have to admit I have a hard time with almost anything they wrote after 2000, it's just not nearly on the level of their older music, but maybe they'll figure out how to get some of the newer songs in synch and just drop the terrible mistake that was Undermind from their repertoire altogether.

Undermind (the song) has been great this year. Yeah alot of the album is meh, but there are some good tunes on there. Here are a couple vids

Tweezer Reprise (feel the energy in that room, last song of the 3 night comeback run 2009)

2001 ( how amazing are the lights in this, best ever??)

Boring? Let me guess: you've only heard "Bouncing Around The Room"?

I was just listening to this album and immediately thought of Pearl Jam playing this on halloween. Originally I was thinking I'd rather hear them do one of their own albums straight through, but I think they could do an amazing version of this.

  • On the original post;

Pink Floyd - Wish you were here... Darkside
    Led Zep - Any
    Young - Harvest Moon
    ... stay classic

On what most people on this thread are talking about...

Phish is good! I went to the Gorge this year and had a blast.
Phish can take you on a very long journey while PJ takes you on very breif, but exciting, trips.
To enjoy Phish you have to be motivated to understand their music and put some time in to explore... it is an education. Trey is great and is much different from Mike in style and in substance. However, Eddie is a much better front man and Pearl Jam is a much more solid band with less risk of imploding.

I have to say I love the PJ scene in contrast to the Phish scene... too many wookies!

  • A friend asked me to the Phish Halloween extravaganza, but I already have plans in Philly ;). Maybe next year, loved the 2 Jones Beach shows I went to this year. Really wanted to see them in Red Rocks but we just moved 3 weeks ago & we already had plans to Chicago!
If PJ were Phish they would be playing Who's Next on Halloween 8-)
So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)
    What You Giving

I suggest you step out on your Porch.
Run away my son. See it all. Oh, See the World!
  • PJ need those hippies with the N2O tanks on their tours, IMO
