  • Ohh what a night first time at a Pearl Jam show and it rocked even the next night the bands on stage would rather talk about them than themselves
  • The show was the 4th time I have seen PJ but the 1st outside and it was FANTASTIC! The sound was so much better than Rexall in Edmonton and GM PLace in Vancouver.

I went thru a lot to get there from Edmonton a 3 hr drive on that darn deadly Highway#2, tooo many close calls and the Olypmic Park is a monterous ski place; the terrain is so uneven, it's like a WIPE-OUT zone for people who have visited the beer gardens near the top of the hill so there's no avoiding it, LOL. But no matter what, PJ always puts on a GREAT entertaining show. I thought Eddie was going to jump into the mosh pit as he climbed the trusses. Next time you are in the Province, PLEASE..... come to Edmonton :D:D:D

Great job, Herald! I know I loved hearing Mike McCready play "Big Wave" on Saturday!

  • Amazing Show! The set list was awesome, and the new tunes sounded great among the old! front on stones side, with a bunch of cool PJ fans!!

If anyone knows Chad from Regina, and his lovely wife... let hime know Chad from Winnipeg was very glad to meet him and send me a PM!
  • Great show, i also loved when eddie said at about 8:30pm "Its gonna get dark here soon." then about half hour later he asked the crowd "Does it ever get dark here?" "let there be light, then there was light" "let there be beer, then there was beer." lol too funny. There so professional too i love it when they all bow together!!

Nice. I'm just curious why you used a point and shoot camera, seeing as you were press-passed to photog the show?

I'm writing a bit late, but it was a pretty good show.

I was on the left side (stones side of the stage). We parked ourselves a few feet in front of this 3 ft diameter pipe coming out of the ground that was protected by a green barrier. We figured that would keep too much crowd pressure from behind us.

The crowd was really intense. We were about 10-15ft back from the stage (enough that we got a good view but avoided the worst of the pit). Head got knocked down a few times by crowd surfers. One guy that must of been on meth/speed was asking everyone what song given 2 fly was. After about 6 people he got to me and I told him and he put me in a headlock trying to hug me or something. Scared the shit out of me.. lol. A few songs later he was back in our area trying to slamdance.. I thought a few guys were going to punch him out.

I hadn't seen a GA PJ show since seattle '98 (unless you count the commodore in vancouver '00). I forgot how intense they get. Seattle '98 was really intense. Missoula '98 was pretty good.

The pit distracted me for the first half dozen songs, but the band got really into it, then I got really into it, and had a really good time.

Got to hear a few songs I'd never heard live before. WMA tag, brother, real me, fixer. I'm usually a pretty happy camper when I get to hear songs I haven't heard live before.

The venue itself was poorly laid out. Bottom of a ski hill with parking at the top. So you have to climb down the little mountain to get to the stage.. if you wanted to get to the booths washrooms, you had to go down to the stage then turn right, which caused a clusterf**k of traffic :) Lineups were insane everywhere.. couldn't even get a beverage.

Concert ended you could take the ski lift back up but the lineup was insane (if i'd known the car lineup to exit was so bad I would of waited), so we climbed back up the mountain. Theres two single lane (well two lanes, one lane for each direction) that go off the mountain. There was an accident on both roads, so traffic went to a standstill.

Drove back to Edmonton. It was a pretty uneventful drive. Grabbed some McDonald's on that gas strip outside of red deer.

First PJ show I've been to where I made it home afterwards, and got to sleep in my own bed. I've been to alot of shows, so that says something of my willingness to travel.

Great show... the GA, not 10c crowd had alot of energy and the band fed off that.

At one point though, I couldn't tell if Ed was joking or not, but he seemed to forget where he was. I think he realised he was in Canada, possibly alberta, talked about how the fuck did they end up there.. but couldn't get out the name of the city.... I'd like to hear that on the bootleg.

We got there at 6:30 and people were arriving in masses. I'm guessing there weren't alot of people there for the other bands? I think the lineup was pretty lame without PJ :)

Totally awesome show. The real joy for me was getting to bring my GF to her first show. She absolutely loved it and was really surprised with how into it the crowd gets.
