Are you implying that he was being sarcastic and that flew over my head? Or are you implying that he's wacky for implying that Eddie is his friend?

i was agreeing with you that his assertion of friendship with eddie vedder is hilarious and clearly fabricated.

    sorry that was confusing.

that's what I figured but I wanted to be sure. Yeah, this guy's lost it. "I have been friends with Eddie since October 1993" Yeah? Well why don't you go over his house and tell him that you don't like Ted Leo and that they lock threads on the message board.

I'm confused. Did you actually apologize?

You start off your apology by "setting the record straight," which is you telling us you're were a ten club member back in the day and "friends" with Eddie Vedder.

You then regret the words you chose to respond to someone else, but maintain that you were attacked first.

After that little bit of remorse, you use your apology to revisit your original complaint.

If you've been a fan since the beginning and let's assume you were at least 12 years old in 1990, you'd still be at least 30, if not 31 today. Hopefully, by the time you're 30, you have learned how to respond to someone who attacks you without resorting to slurs of any kind.

Since you did respond inappropriately, here's how you apologize:

"Dear , I am sorry I used a homophobic slur to attack you. I recognize that it is inappropriate in any setting to call someone what I called you. I deeply regret it and hope you can forgive me."

Oh, and you apologize because you actually believe you were wrong, not because the board administrator might kick you off for your actions. Otherwise, it just ruins the sincerity of it all.

I'm with the OP. I was in the 10c for a long time and let my membership lapse for probably 6 years. I just re-joined because I knew I wouldn't get Spectrum tix without it. BTW, I got tix for every show I wanted to see without the 10c.

One of the reasons I got tired of it is because I complained on the message boards about other 10c members ruining my night at the Spectrum in 2003. I got ripped apart on the boards because I couldn't see the show.

The other point I agree with is That 10c members don't always get the best seats. At the EV show in Baltimore I was 4 rows from the back of the theatre and I was next to a pissed off 10c member. At Viriginia Beach '08 I bought my tix on TM or LiveNation and was right in the middle of the 10c members. They were actually the best seats I've ever had for a PJ show outside of GA tix.

At the Spectrum show some guys were jumping from row to row, "slam dancing" in seated sections and playing air guitar while standing on their seats. When I bitched about it on the boards people told me that they should be allowed to rock out to their favorite band and if I couldn't take it then I should stay home.

I'm OK with different opinions than mine...but when I differed from the 10c masses-- a group that used to pride itself on acceptance of outside ideas--I got (verbally) beat up over it. It didn't make me lose any respect for my favorite band but it kind of took a little wind out of the 10c's sails for me.

You should ask Ed about the tkt price no? If I was good friends with him then I would defo ask him and see what he knows about the whole deal.
it was indeed a very rude remark, but everyone can screw up once.

:? see this remark just erased your apology, you are defending what you said that day... just because it was what you felt? :?

No, it doesn't take away from my apology at all.

It was suggested that I apologized because I was afraid
I may be booted off and I'm saying I really don't care if I get
booted off. I didn't apologize because of that reason.

My life will continue whether I'm allowed to make posts or not.

that's what I figured but I wanted to be sure. Yeah, this guy's lost it. "I have been friends with Eddie since October 1993" Yeah? Well why don't you go over his house and tell him that you don't like Ted Leo and that they lock threads on the message board.
I originally spoke with Eddie in October 1993 over the telephone.
If you're able to listen to the Rockline interview from back then,
you'll see that he gave out his home telephone number because he
was buzzed and didn't realize the radio show was over. After about an hour,
I called his house and he answered. I spoke with him for about 10 minutes.
Most of the conversation was of a humorous note. He talked about the thickness
of a rhino's skin and about the Church of Latter Day Saints. At the end of our converstaion,
he said we were friends and he'd talk to me again.

I got to meet him personally for about 5 minutes on April 7, 1994.
It was right after the Rochester, NY show. I asked him if he remembered
our conversation from Rockline, 6 months earlier. He smiled and said "we're
    still friends, right ? "

I met him again at the Toronto show on 5/9/06 with the
whole band. They signed my 'Binaural' album and I also got
to meet Doug Gilmour, one of the best hockey players ever.
He was there with the band hanging out after the show.

In 2005, I hung out with Wintersleep who were the opening
band for 2 shows in St. John's, Newfoundland. We got to go to
the bands hotel room at the Delta and see Mike get "screeched-in" which
is an old Newfoundland tradition where you kiss a dead cod fish.
Mike gave me a guitar pick. Jeff was stoned and playing Playstation.
Eddie was real mellow and didn't say much, except for the fact that
he wanted to see the ocean.

It's obvious that I don't have an influence on the guy to
suggest who opens for them, or how to make ticket prices affordable,
or to keep my posts from being locked on this forum.

I only go by his words, and I will always consider him a friend.
