• Excuse me, but dubbya was the one who through the gates open on all manner of deregulation. Don't try to pin his greed on Bill.
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 under President Clinton. Look it up. Even Obama has blammed this for the recession.
If you think people who bought homes in 1999 - 2002 are the ones who are defaulting, you're dreaming. It's the folks who have balloon notes that hit the five year mark in late 2008 + 2009 who caused the meltdown; those who were able to get mortgages with the lessened oversight and control over the financial industry courtesy of one Dubya and his cronies in Congress. We had a Republican controlled Congress 2000 - 2007 so just who do you think wrote and voted in the bills being lobbyed by the banks and financial industry?

Beyond that mess - when Clinton lied, nobody died.
If you think defaults started happening in 2008, you're the dreamer. They've been rising for years, from the loose laws imposed by Billy. A democrat shouldn't bring up lobbying.

You're silly little rhyme is old. I guess we shouldn't have invaded Iraq and broke down the terrorists. Nice to have skyscrapers still in our counrty....

that is really funny because iraq had nothing to do with knocking down our skyscrapers. and if you believe they did have something to do with it then you have obviously not been paying attention because bush said it himself. also, there were not terrorists there like there are now before we showed up there. they went there to fight us.

sounds like she touched a nerve. i thought the rhyme was pretty clever the first time i heard it and it is still true today. nobody died when he lied about his relationship with lewinsky. he is still useful to our country for diplomatic and foreign policy reasons and he is still popular on the world stage, unlike your boy bush who has quietly gone away to never show his face on the world stage again. and that is the best move a bush ever made.

Yep, and the ones that WENT to Iraq to fight us are now heading back over into Afghanistan to join the ones that were ALREADY THERE to fight us some more. Everybody else seems to know that we went into Iraq for Dubya's paybacks to Saddam and so that his administration's cronies could get rich. Does the name Halliburton ring a bell? Not to mention the oil pipeline being built at the time......

Yep, it was about Bill Clinton...specifically the effort to get the 2 American journalists released from North Korea.

Then it became about GW...which all threads use to and I'm so happy that's over. :o

No, it became about the contrast between the world perception of our 2 ex-presidents... one who had his legacy unfairly tarnished by a right-wing witch hunt that took millions of taxpayer dollars to find ANYTHING to try to stick to him but still commands the respect of many international leaders due to his intelligence and poise, another who embarrassed this nation, alienated all our allies, and trashed everything good this country used to stand for. It's a reasonable and interesting evolution for the topic to take. If it bothers you so much that the scope has broadened, you're free to ignore those twists and turns. But I think it's pretty interesting how differently these two ex-presidents are perceived and it's rather telling that Clinton can still do things like this while nobody in the world wants to hear from our other ex-presidents ever again. That includes Carter and Bush Sr.

That said, no, Clinton was not perfect. Yes, he had a hand in the lending laws, though it's worth noting it was a republican congress energized by Gingrich that wrote those bills and he signed them knowing he didn't have much choice in the matter. Then Dubya took us further down that road, again with a republican congress. Thus a bad situation got worse. Clinton deserves a share of the blame for the lending issues, but the lion's share falls squarely upon the republican disciples of Reagan and their hard-on for disastrous deregulation.

Well, you should be able to. But it really seems like you can't. In any event, you are really overreacting to an old cheesy slogan. It honestly seems to me like your annoyance at the slogan is just a tactic to avoid dealing with any of the legitimate points made surrounding it.

You are right about me over-reacting. I guess it just got really old for me. I think I've dealt with the points around it many times over in the past...which is why I think it bothers me so much. In reality, most of those cheesy chants about anything bother me a lot...oh well...I'm calmer now. :)

Clinton springs the dumbass journalists from N Korea. Why did people hate this guy?

Because God forbid he got a hummer in the Oval Office. Meanwhile have you noticed how many of the ones protesting the loudest have been caught in public bathrooms? (Larry 'wide stance' Craig and can't remember the other one)

Personally Im a huge Clinton fan. I think he's the best president we've had in 30 years.

    Has anybody mentioned this?

I like how Bill was bashing the Dems for not being tough on this healthcare battle. Or something like that.

Yeah! Go Bill, you tell them!
I’m a Dem, but really don’t like their defense tactics at times. Weak shit.

Didn’t he try to reform healthcare when he was in office? No wonder he’s afraid the Dems will drop the ball again.
