The Kasabian cover one came out about 6 days ago....really though the rest of the magazine is very uninteresting...

Interesting to see what review they give backspacer next month, especially given they gave the lasiest review I ever read on advocado and one star too

Absolute radio have been playing The Fixer, heard it a couple of times this weekend, couldnt believe it at first!!! 8-) Good that it getting played.

They played it this morning at about 6.55am - its kinda weird hearing PJ on the radio - they NEVER usually get any air play, unless its on Zane Lowe........What made me laugh though was Christian O'Connell (the breakfast DJ) said something like "this song coming up is from one of my favourite bands" - really?? then how come I have never heard you (or any other Absolute dj for that matter) play one Pearl Jam song ever on your station

O'Connel used to be on XFM and I'm not sure I ever heard him play PJ and he certainly never mentioned them like that.

People may want to check http://www.qthemusic.com to see the link of the interview. It was a decent read but a tour around the 10c base was the most interesting piece, the rest we already knew from the article.

Edit: Never mind. Misread what the poster meant. Base as in 10c HQ. Sorry.

"tour around the 10c base"? Is that really what it says?

If that is their strategy they will lose more fans than ever.

Like other's have said, it's not the most informative read. Tells you about a pinball machine in 10c HQ as well as boxes of merchendise etc... I didn't learn anything reading the piece but just good to see PJ in the UK press.

Glad they have been played on Absoloute. Listening to that station every day is like Groundhog Day. The same songs by the same artists come on at the same time!
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

Go out and buy the latest edition of Q mag. It has a cool interview with the lads. And at the end Eddie finishes off the interview with a truely typical Eddie/Pearl Jam quote. It shows me the difference between PJ and the awful U2. Eddie says he recently met Bono and Bono said to him:

“He said, Each of our records is a racehorse that we’ve trainded and groomed. When we enter it into a race we want it to win. And I said, Our records are horses, too, and we also train and groom them. The difference is,” Vedder concludes, a beautific smile on his face, “I want ours to run free in a field”.

Eddie Vedder we love you. You are such a man with unbelieaveable integrity.

Ed does look old in those pictures but I just met him in Atlanta in June and he does not look that old in person. In fact he looked younger than his age (44)...must just be the photographs.

also, although I live in the US, I read NME from time to time and they rarely give any love to PJ. How popular are PJ in the UK?

There was actually a brief period from '98 to '03 when NME gave them consistently good reviews. Yield was given 7/10, Binaural scored 9/10 (!) and Riot Act 8/10.
It all changed in '06 though - i think they gave Avocado 4 or 5/10 :-( But hey, the NME has changed a LOT since the turn of the decade - it's basically a childrens magazine now.
