Yeah, I think, given the limited number of spares likely to be available, there should probably be a limit of one per person.

    I agree.
Can't help thinking that if someone does donate a pair of spares (anyone?) the two tickets should be allocated separately to different people in the list. I guess I'm suggesting we make the one ticket per 10C member a hard and fast rule. You may disagree, however, and if you do I'll certainly respect that given all the work you've put in.

    I agree.

I'll change the main post in the other thread later today.

I agree 100% folks. I do really want / need two for a very dull reason that my partner needs to come with me, not just because he is a long time PJ fan but unfortunately due to darn panic attacks I always take him to shows with me for support. Therefore, if my name does come out of the hat but only one is available then I will step down and offer mine to the next person in line. (If by some miracle two *are* available then I will take them :-) )

On a plus note, someone has got us tickets for the 02 now I can confirm so I am over the moon about that. In 17 years of waiting to see them I will now finally get to see them!!!!!! Could never afford it before!

Reading this thread makes me so sad!!! It's just so unfair!!

I would still like to be on the list if at all possible (altho technically not 10C anymore so would understand if you are now going to limit it to that). And also 1 per person when they are in such limited supply also seems fair.

Hubs was actually ok(ish) about it when i told him, in fact i think i'm more gutted that i let him down again (I know i didn't but you know what i mean!) he said he kinda expected it anyway! he's not changing his flight and is going to come home anyway! and i think we'll go down and see how much touts are! if too much we're going to go out to dinner instead!

oh and I agree about Ames getting something!

thanks for letting me join in on all this even tho i've not been on here much before!

Please can I be kept in the lottery.

I didn't think non-10Clubbers could post here now anyway?

1 ticket per member drawn makes sense, although I wanted 2!

Maybe the draw should be weighted by how close we live to the venue, to offset the carbon footprint. Did I mention that I can walk to the venue? ;)
  • I also agree that each person in the lottery should only win one ticket as they are so scarce.

I'd also be happy for Ames to have one given all the comendable work put, even if it reduces my own odds

Can I be added to the lottery for a ticket too please?

I had no luck with the Ten Club or HMV sales.

    Thanks,
    Ben

  • OK folks first bit of info I have had back, I will copy this to both boards and then again once I have started an official thread (sorry - trying to do this between working :-)

I have heard back from a very trusted friend who has been in the industry for a long, long time. And by trusted I also mean that I know they wouldn't bullshit me when I ask them anything. I explained to my friend what had happened to all of us, I was told the following things:-

    1) Pearl Jam tickets have basically been like gold dust even to those in the industry. There have been NO industry tickets given out as freebies for either the 02 or Shepherds Bush. There are no industry guest lists for these shows either, as far as my friend knows. Industry workers have had to buy tickets themselves, the same as all the regular people.

    2) Touts should not have got hold of tickets before any exclusive pre-sales. If there is evidence to support this then there are people who can be contacted to complain to.

    3) We should have proper grounds for complaint to HMV and Ticketweb for those who did not receive second mails, whose links did not work, the basket of tickets debacle and especially for those who were charged for tickets but who have not been guaranteed them.

    4) It is considered awful that the 10c did not get more tickets and the suggestion is that we, as a group, compose a letter to the band's management.

    5) Whist ticket touting on ebay is not really OK, there are so many people doing it that the industry does not care / lets it slide

I have been given a contact web for a particular association who look after agencies. I will consider the best thing to write to them and then I will put it up here for everyone to add to or make suggestions. I might also need a bit more info from folks before I can complete it, so I will try to do this within the next few days :)

Thank you very much for the info and for taking the time to find all this out.

We could do this, but without wishing to do the band down (they make their living from this after all), this concert was clearly about publicity for the new album and was never going to be a 10C dominated event.

I have a mate who is a very casual fan of Pearl Jam - had a few early albums, but doesn't really know anything past Vs - and he preordered the new album through HMV because of the concert promotion. This is exactly who they're trying to reach.

Hopefully they will one day do a fans only event, but whose to say it will be in London and not anywhere else in the world.
  • Just a quick note folks please remember there is a new thread for spares - peeps have been posting on other threads and even starting new ones and it's all getting confusing. Use the new one, which Ames will refer to for the lottery! :-)

I've just got a ticket in the 3.30pm HMV pre/post sale, so I don't need a ticket anymore.

    I'm soo happy!

Ames, I finally got my 2 accounts merged together so I have my old username back now. Can you replace Fuckin Up on your list to this one please? I can send you the email from TC if you need proof that it's me! Thanks
