    LOL!

    Seriously!

I'm pretty sure Nickelback could have come up with better lyrics than that what's in the Fixer!

    Yikes!

Ouch... that's low!!! That one really hurts...!

    Yikes!

Oh don't say that. Think it.....but say it.[/quote]

    Hahahahaha!
    Sorry.

I just think it's funny they called that song "The Fixer". Maybe it was one of those songs in the studio where they couldn't figure out what to call it. The whole time everyone all the guys knew it needed some work and was referred to as "The Fixer".
Stone: "Hey Ed, this song really sucks...how about we just put it on some B-side".
Ed: "Fuck, we've spent far too long on this. We gotta get it in there, but what to call it?"
Mike: "How about Steaming Pile of..."
Ed interrupts Mike: "Fuck it, lets just leave it as 'The Fixer'".
Stone: "But it's really bad Ed. I mean, those lyrics...how did you come up with that crap?"
Ed: "Drunk as shit and was listening to some Nickelback"
Matt: "This is not what I signed up for!"
Stone: "Well, it has been hyped quite a bit and our fans typically will love anything we give them....so maybe it'll work"
    Ed: "That's the spirit!"

That's how The Fixer came to be...

When something's dry, im gonna put a little lube on it.

when something's old, im gonna put a little new on it.

when something's wet, im gonna put a little dry on it.

i could have written this song in 5 mins.

I am at work just stunned . I will always love the band ,but I can't help but laugh when I listen to this song
" If signals are crossed i'll put a little straightener on em " wtf is that? and that crazy bridge piano crap?
I have to be honest if I heard this song and it was by anyone else I would shut it off immediately , but Pearl Jam I give them a pass and try to enjoy it . I hope this is some kind of inside joke towards Target or if you play it backwards it gives you Pearl Jam back again !

Good one. I love how people are saying this song will be great live. How so? Will the music really change? Are the lyrics going to suddenly become intelligent?

I'm afraid they're actually going to add some "do-wop" singers.

It is pretty corny, but it reminds me of Let My Love Open the Door.. of the new songs I've heard its definitely my least favorite, but its not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It's purposely cheesy. Pearl Jam takes themselves too seriously most times, so we can let them slide on this one.

It kind of reminds me of The Cure too.

Isn't this about Harvey Keitel's character, Mr. White, in Reservoir Dogs?

You have your QT movies mixed up. You need to "Fix it".

You are thinking of Keitel's "The Wolf" from Pulp Fiction.

A few more lines to push it over the 3 minute epic mark. ‘Got Some’ is almost, but not quite as deep as this one, lyrically…Dylan’s got nothing on these guys..

When something’s dead I wanna put a little life on it
When something’s fat I wanna put a little skinny on it
If something’s left I wanna make it right again
    Yeah Yeah Yeah

If something’s bad I wanna put some good on it
If something’s white I wanna put some black on it
When nothing’s left I wanna fight to get it back again
    Yeah Yeah Yeah

Oh man, think of the limitless improvisations on the boots  ..

Because some of us heard the leaked performance of this song. I have to say the leaked version is a hell of a lot better then the studio version. Much more rocking and alot less corniness.

The lyrics were less corny, or you just couldn't make them out ;) ?

I hate to say it but this song isn't even good enough to have made it on to riot act. If this is a sign to of things to come this is going to a very bad album.

totally agree here...my excitement for the album has dwindled big time after hearing both these songs

after hearing 'got some' and the songs eddie's played at his shows, i feel confident saying "don't worry".

i was just thinking that though.. if i hadn't heard anything else yet, i may be a little worried.

The end and speed of sound are great. The fixer sucks. I'll hold off on got some until I hear the studio version. I don't think it was done justice on conan.

correct, although isn't Harvey Keitel the cleaner/fixer in ever QT movie?
