You have your QT movies mixed up. You need to "Fix it".

You are thinking of Keitel's "The Wolf" from Pulp Fiction.

A few more lines to push it over the 3 minute epic mark. ‘Got Some’ is almost, but not quite as deep as this one, lyrically…Dylan’s got nothing on these guys..

When something’s dead I wanna put a little life on it
When something’s fat I wanna put a little skinny on it
If something’s left I wanna make it right again
    Yeah Yeah Yeah

If something’s bad I wanna put some good on it
If something’s white I wanna put some black on it
When nothing’s left I wanna fight to get it back again
    Yeah Yeah Yeah

Oh man, think of the limitless improvisations on the boots  ..

put on a slow, dumb show for you
    and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
    god I'm very, very frightening
    and I'll overdo it'

Good one. I love how people are saying this song will be great live. How so? Will the music really change? Are the lyrics going to suddenly become intelligent?

I'm afraid they're actually going to add some "do-wop" singers.

Because some of us heard the leaked performance of this song. I have to say the leaked version is a hell of a lot better then the studio version. Much more rocking and alot less corniness.

I hate to say it but this song isn't even good enough to have made it on to riot act. If this is a sign to of things to come this is going to a very bad album.

after hearing 'got some' and the songs eddie's played at his shows, i feel confident saying "don't worry".

i was just thinking that though.. if i hadn't heard anything else yet, i may be a little worried.

The end and speed of sound are great. The fixer sucks. I'll hold off on got some until I hear the studio version. I don't think it was done justice on conan.

WTF people?!? I am so taken aback by all this criticism, I can't even stand to read this thread, much less this board right now. I have been a fan of this band from day one and while I don't love every song, I have never once criticized a song to the point of saying it "blows" or "sucks" or whatever choice words are being used here. If Pearl Jam is truly your favorite band then just be thankful they are still releasing new music, like it or not, and don't blast it for all the world to see. I personally love this song because it's catchy, fun, different, and most of all because it is a NEW Pearl Jam song. What else do you need? Just keep the criticism to yourself and allow those of us who truly love and appreciate this band to enjoy ourselves. Thanks!

Ghost - "Didn't know soap made you taller"

ah cmon how can that lyric be in this thread. Good lyric and it makes sense in the song. and its
"I never knew soap made you taller", little difference but with a much different meaning.

well, in all fairness the message pit is for discussing pearl jam related topics and this is one, not everyone has to like the song.

YES I love those lyrics... Not For You >>>>>>>>>> The Fixer.... and yes I get the irony, sure they can make songs for whoever they want, but I believe the "you" in "not for you" is the media, not the fans ;)

the lyric is just fine. it fits in the type of song they were creating. if your such a brilliant writer, create something better.

Relax. The lyric is cheesy. It does fit in the type of song that they created though.

Who wants to live in a world where we can't anonymously criticize cheese-ball lyrics spewed out by our favourite band? I have an entire thread of crticism in the vault for the cheesiness that is Come Back.

i don't need to relax. Pearl Jam work very hard to put out the best music they can for themselves and their fans and people who don't even have half the talent as them think they are all of a sudden experts when it comes to writing songs and lyrics. like i said, if you can do it better, write some music and let us listen. i'm sure i won't be hearing any music on the radio or net from any of you who are criticizing these lyrics. i'm sure you don't even do your own job as well as pearl jam do theirs.

The funny thing is that there are quite a few threads on The Porch where people posted their own lyrics to "The Fixer," and they're really not that off from what Ed is saying in the song.

The odd part is that they were joking when they wrote their lyrics. Although, maybe the lyrics by Ed are intentionally not serious?

I'm not feeling this song. But then again, I HATED "Black" (of all songs) for years before I eventually started to love it.
