This may seem like a stupid question, but...

Is ticket touting on ebay actually illegal?

Sorry to those who haven't been successful

How can you have tickets in your cart and not be able to purchase them? What a dumb website.
  • Ok I have checked See Tickets, TicketLine, Ticketmaster and been calling Star Green since 8.30am, all of whom say they are not selling PJ tickets for Shep Bush.

This whole thing is a sham and I hope that 10c will make the band aware of what has happened to their actual fans in this instance?

Hey Jennytree - I am looking into this today and I am going to start a campaign about this. I will report back to the site later with what I find out but I feel if there is one grain of use going to come out of my years in the music industry, then it is going to be this. If you can all please keep me posted of ebay sales going up maybe by PM or on here, then I will collect a list of them and add them to my complaint to ITB. I will ask some music industry friends as much as I can today then I will form a letter to go to HMV and ITB, and I will start up a campaign probably on facebook once I have found out what I need to know. I will share this with everyone here as I am disgusted that none of us have been able to get tickets yet touts have.

I don't think touting can be stopped but I am going to formally request Ebay, once I have enough signatures, to put at least a CAP on how much sellers can profit from tickets. If you think this is a good idea please let me know and I will get started right away.

Well, I guess all you can do is try ...

Abandon your principals and buy into a preorder just to get a presale chance - FAIL
Hope that your Membership of 10c gets you that something special - FAIL
Think 'third time lucky on a general sale?' - FAIL

It's a tiny place, demand was always going to be massive and it was always going to be hard to get tickets ... but you hope, you know. You create a gig like this in your head, in your fantasies - and then arrangements are made, tickets put on sale, only for you to miss out. Feels just ... wrong. Robbed. Frustrated, Heartbroken. Disillusioned.

    :(

To those of you with tickets - really chuffed for you - now go and love the gig and enjoy it on behalf of 'us' !

Anyone with a spare ? I have MEN and O2 spare to swap .. And thanks and love to give. :D

We tried. We failed. Ah well.

(Anyone know what happened to the supposed 9am HMV sale mentioned by 10c?)

The time I got through to the "your tickets are secured" page I managed to get through without any queue at all for some reason, it was a few minutes past 9. But my internet crashing ruined all that.

I seems pretty random to be honest... Some people joined later and still seemed to get them... Don't know what to think. Gutted.

if anyone is going down ebay route, message me. I am shameless and don't care if I feed the devil, but when it comes to it, I want the experience of pj. Not a bitter feeling towards touts or ticketweb.

I didn't have any luck, ticketwebs site is BS, kept getting kicked out saying 'oops this link is broken.' I got though on the phones at 9.15 only for the guy to say 'we only have level 3, I was like yeah anything, he then seemed to take an age and came back to say they're all gone.' Sooooo gutted, I've been a fan of this band since 92, ten club member since 93, travelled the world several times to see them and can't even get tickets to a local show. I have to say I really think TC should have sorted their UK fans out, there's only 800 or so of us would it of really been that hard!
    My PJ shows:
    London 28/10/96, Las Vegas 11/7/98, London 29/5/00, Nurnburg 11/6/00, Prague 14/6/00, Salzburg 18/6/00, Verona 20/6/00, Milan 22/6/00, Zurich 23/6/00, New York 8-9/7/03, Boston 11/7/03, Reading Festival 27/8/06, Shepards Bush 11/8/09, Berlin 15/8/09, Manchester 17/8/09, London 18/8/09, Dublin 22/6/10, Belfast 23/6/10, London (HRC) 25/6/10, Alpine Valley (PJ20) 3-4/9/11, Manchester 20-21/6/12, Leeds 8/7/14, Milton Keynes 11/7/14 To be continued....

To be fair I went to the queuing link at about 7:50 when I woke up, not sure if that's what made the difference, but I did notice that even if I closed the page, when I re-opened it I was still in the queue, all very strange.

got in the queue just before 9 and on another window just after 9.
think i got to the 'proceed to secure checkout' with the feckers in my basket on the queue i joined before 9.

i'm at work in a university with a fuck-off fast internet connection so they can't blame connection speed as a reason!
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

Hiya Wash_, that is cool, I totally understand the need to see the band over anything else but my personal feeling, having been a gig goer for over 20 years now, is that someone has to say no somewhere. If people did not buy tickets from Ebay touts then they wouldn't sell them - simple as. It's about supply and demand. BUt at the same time, I wouldn't judge anyone else who did - my partner has bought tickets from Ebay before so each to their own :-) I just can't do it anymore - I won't support them profiting from other people's missing out.
