This is comical to me. Ben is the greater talent? Far superior vocal range?? What the hell are you smoking???

    1. I don't smoke.

    2. Ben Harper can sing gospel, soul, funk, and the hardest of rock songs.

Again, Ed is clearly the better writer but Ben Harper has vocal cords of gold. I am sure if the two were in a room together Ed would give Ben the nod in vocals.

With Ben Harper and the R7 opening they will be the best overall shows hands down.

PJ will not find a better band to open on the east coast.

Actually the only way the Philadelphia shows will come close would be Kings of Leon as the opening band.

They might play longer at the Spectrum, but the overall concert experience will be the west coast shows.

Ben's new band is the REAL DEAL, I was lucky enough to catch him at the 9:30 club about 50 feet from the stage.

Actually Ben might put on a better show than PJ.

I agree with you on the 08 MSG but 03 was right up there with 03 spectrum, I think to me because of them playing MSG after 911
It was 2 years later. What did 9/11 have to do with anything?
same question here..why????

Agreed, I was able to catch some shows in 2000 in the UK. Although I really want to see them in Italy and Australia before it is all said and done as well as South America. I think the international fans are better since PJ doesn't get over there as much.

Just out of curiosity.....why does there have to be a CONTEST on which city is louder and has the better crowd? :? Don't we ALL like to enjoy the boys no matter WHERE we are????????? :)

    Completely agree.

Every city has it's own vibe. LA is chill and laid back, a show at San Diego State has a lot of college kids, The east coast has a lot of energy.

Europe/South America is unbridled fury/passion.

Each area has a unique culture and that translates to different concert experiences.

I've seen PJ in Boston, NYC, S.D. Vegas, and all over the LA/SB area.

Every show is awesome in it's own right.

EDIT: If all goes right I'll see all 4 shows at the Gibson Amphitheater. Can't believe how psyched I am for that tiny venue!

Thats what i try to tell people when they ask about L.A crowds; its VERY laid back but still loves pearl jam! Like pre-parties in L.A, most of the ones in attendance are out of towners. The locals are like ehhhh i'll get to the show after work or right when the show begins. :D Every crowd is different. East coast DEFINITELY has some energy!!!

The East Coat is getting no opener it's "A Night With Pearl Jam" a la The Gorge!

    well it could be 50/50.

weren't the 06 gorge shows also advertised that way with no opening band. Pearl Jam didn't do the extra set at either of the 06 gorge shows. We all thought they would.. as there was no opener, and they had done it the year before. But nothing in 06. Might of been the heat, I dunno, but don't get your hopes up, just in case.

I too am WAAAAY stoked about BH&R7 opening up for PJ. I will be at both Seattle shows.

Though better overall....I cannot claim that as the Evening With Pearl Jam shows at The Gorge in '05 & '06 were just in a class of their own. So, while I am happy as a pig in slop that BH will be the opener (as I am a big BH fan), i also really liked no opening band at all as more times than not, you are only there to see the headliner.
