West Coast shows will be better....

With Ben Harper and the R7 opening they will be the best overall shows hands down.
PJ will not find a better band to open on the east coast.
Actually the only way the Philadelphia shows will come close would be Kings of Leon as the opening band.
They might play longer at the Spectrum, but the overall concert experience will be the west coast shows.
Ben's new band is the REAL DEAL, I was lucky enough to catch him at the 9:30 club about 50 feet from the stage.
Actually Ben might put on a better show than PJ.

that means nothing.... they just come on an hour later. show length is the same.
Slow down there bub...

Haha... Ben Harper not being in Philly was the best news I heard throughout all this. I really can't handle listening to him butcher Indifference!
Hilarious.
Do you want people to take you seriously?

It's apparent you have never listen to or experienced Ben live.
His vocal range is far superior to Eddie's.
Then add in the fact he can play every instrument on stage, Ben is without a doubt the greater talent.
With that said I love PJ as much as anyone here. Ed is clearly the better writer and I agree more with his view of life and a lack of a God.
But don't discount Ben on his singing of a song that isn't even his.
Plus if he was butchering the song do you really think Ed would call him to the stage?

I thought the world...Turns out the world thought me
talented yes, and its cool you like his music
but I dont want him anywhere near the stage if PJ is playing :!:
Eddie doesn't need help!
Wachovia 05 was pretty hyped on the board that year.

What would give you that idea??? I mean it was only billed here as a mea culpa to the fans for the clusterfuck that the Borgata onsale was...

Social awareness does not equal political activism!
5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.
One positive I see about Ben Harper opening is I might finally get to hear indifference played live, the only drawback is that I'll have to hear ben harper mangling half the song
That might be a music overload for you.

I have just been inspired to purchase Ben Harper's new album.
Already enjoy him casually, and heard this album is pretty good.
Now with or without BH, these West Coast shows will rock. Tiny venue with awesome acoustics and hopefully we will get a wide variety of songs and not too many repeats throughout.
The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math - The Mincing Mockingbird
And if you've never been to a Spectrum show, you're in for a treat. Loudest, most energetic crowd I've ever seen PJ play in front of and that's out of 40+ plus shows I've been to.

This is a very productive thread.
Well put. To those who have never experienced a Philly crowd - more so than the actual show - you will absolutely love it. Every word to every song sung to the rafters by every single person in the venue.
Exactly. I mean, coooome on.
