and yes PJ has done three nights in a row
trick-or-treating usually ends at dusk which would allow them to play with a usual 9:00pm start time.
the dads can enjoy trick-or-treating and STILL play a 10/31 show

Duh. They're going to trick-or-treat in the parking lot with masks on so no one knows who they are. Duh.
Take this for what it's worth but a buddy of mine just asked me if I wanted to get in a box that he has reserved for 10/31. He has a connection at the spectrum that said the third show will be announced...and gave him a shot to get a club box (side stage). I am giving him money this week to reserve my spot in the box...3rd show is gonna happen. It's the worst kept secret in Philly now that Pedro has signed.
Is is box "x"....just emailed the guy at the sprectrum to sign up; never sat in them before...how far away are they?
No, it's one of the lower boxes. be careful with the boxes with high letters...they are wayyyy up in the rafters. you can touch the flyers/sixers banners from up there
It's not that big a deal, I guess, but will add a special quality to that last show, no?
It is a big deal to locals, come on...The SPECTRUM has been a staple to Philly...Great sound, GREAT History- Flyers, Sixers, quite a few Championships were won there, and MANY kick-ass concerts over the years- Who hasn't played there???...We will have a KILLER tailgate party there, too. Every Rock radio staion in the City will be ALL OVER THIS. If it is THE LAST concert at the Spectrum, it will be built up BIG TIME locally. Especially when tix are sold out...
agreed - the media coverage of the last show will be HUGE in Philly. It will be all over the papers and tv for sure. It is Awesome that PJ will be the last. Thought for sure it would be Springsteen or BIlly Joel/Elton John.
10/28 & 30 ( possibly 10/31 to be added ) Pearl Jam
what a final month at the old building !

Rumor is that its Phish will close it...
Wiki confirms this but who know's if that is even right
The building will be closed and demolished following the 2008-2009 hockey and soccer seasons with the final planned event to be a 3-night Phish run scheduled to start on November 13, 2009 to be known as the PT Braphacy Turkey Run; afterwards, the arena will be razed to make way for a new hotel in conjunction with the Philly Live! complex.[

Are you sure about that? If I remember correctly all of the suites are just above the 200 level at the spectrum.
Although I just read something about the possibility of the closing date being pushed back and other shows being played into November, the local media (papers and TV) here in Philly are repoting that Pearl Jam will close the Spectrum with their shows at the end of October.

5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.

Comcast could just be saying that to make sure these shows sell out, then will announce Phish, but that would be awfully shady. Even for Comcast.

Yeah it would be shady especially since they are specifically calling these shows the last at the Spectrum. And are stating that they did not say Springsteen's shows in Apr were ever billed as his last, hence why the October shows could be added.

I haven't heard them say that. They may not explicitly have said Springsteen's would be his last, but it was strongly implied.
I agree is was implied.... here's the quote from today's Metro rag
"We never said those were his last shows," Eric Nemeth of the Spectrum's owner Comcast-Spectacor said yesterday, alluding to the marketing campaign for Springsteen's concerts April 28 and 29. "We say he's playing and that Spectrum is closing at end of year, but never say 'last.'"
they sold seats behind the stage for the dead
I would imagine they will for pj
I'd sit behind the stage to be in the building! The guys always pay love to the ones in the back ;0
got a car...got some gas...oh let's get out of here-get out of here fast...
I hope you get this message but your not home...I will be there in just a minute or so...
I want to go but I want to go with you.

I've had enough, said enough, felt enough. I'm fine, still in it.
Well if I get tix today for both shows, the 10/30 show will be my 50th. Not a bad way to reach 50 by seeing the last show at the Spectrum.
that's awesome!
if i planned on going to both shows, got tix, the 30th would be my 30th show.....damn, is that a sign i should go to both shows? eh, i am going for the 30th! i just don't want to utilize 3 vacation days in philly......1 floating holiday will do me fine.
actually, what it means is simply that pj MUST add the 31st show, so i can get in my 30th show.
