STILL NO LOVE FOR THE SOUTH.

I would hope that in 2010 they at least hit the major cities of Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte, New Orleans, and Nashville/Memphis since they haven't had a show since 2003. I know there are plenty of fans that are ready for a show and may not have the means to travel out of town to see them. But at the end of the day it's the bands decision to decide where to tour and if its not economically feasible or they don't like that area of the country so be it.

I just wish they would announce the entire tour and then let us know if that's the end of the dates. In 2006 the South got the shaft with no tour dates but the worst part was not knowing that it was coming. We keep hearing rumors about a third leg that never materialized. I easily could have drove to Cincinnati from Atlanta to see them in 2006 had I known earlier. After 2006 I learned by lesson and I now just jump on the first shows that I can afford to attend and if they end up coming closer that's just icing on the cake.

At least the South got some shows in 2008 that were within driving distance for most fans in FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, and VA to make up for 2006: WPB, Tampa, Bonnaroo, Columbia, Virginia Beach

And in 2009 we get Austin City Limits for the fans in Texas.

Also Eddie mentioned during his solo shows in Atlanta that he would let the band know how great the crowd was so maybe that will turn into a show in the future. :D

The album isn't even out yet, how about you wait until you know for sure. Jeff said they will be playing in the south.

That's true. He did mention the South as one of the places in that "tone" interview in Deep. There is no way that the shows announced are the full tour.

Imo we got plenty of love last summer. I only got to see the columbia show but I was stoked just to see them back in South Carolina cos it had been 10yrs since they last played there. And the set list kicked fuckin ass to boot.

Ed also said they would be back in 2 yrs. We'll see I guess.

Exactly. There is a huge gap between Oct 10- 27. I'm ptetty sure those are the additional dates. I'm thinking south and midwest shows in that time frame. There is also room for another show in the west between the Seattle and LA dates. I'm thinking positive here.
Backspacer comes out in September. TX ( An additional one or two, aside from the festival), LA, FL , GA, SC or NC and TN could easily recieve a show in this time frame. Here's to hoping. :D

At one point towards the end of the Columbia show last year, Eddie mentioned once again how great the fans were and how the band would not take another ten years to come back to SC. He said that hopefully they'd see us again in a year or two. I sure hope he hasn't forgotten about that!

I just don't see it happening this year. I think they may a show or two to the tour- probably out west, but nothing in the south. Why would they do a TX or LA show now if they weren't planning on doing it right before or right after ACL?

It could just be they already have it booked in the south but just have to wait to announce because of ACL.

The shows will get announced before ACL. I think the headliner is not allowed to play shows before the festival so that is why no additional shows were listed with this short tour leg. In the additional dates and that gap in October the festival will be over with and I strongly think that one of those potential dates could be Dallas or Houston for Texas. The shows are probably in the works of being booked with what venues have open availability and when. The shows may already be booked, but the promoters for ACL may have requested a hold off period on announcing dates to try and sell more tix for ACL. I know from my work with the Toadies that their management has had some similar booking tactics. I knew about shows well before hand but couldn't say anything until management got the ok from promoters.

Well, I'm gonna read between the lines cause they posted this:

Note: Potential additional dates and corresponding on-sale information may be announced at a later date.)

Then they say At this time there are no additional dates. Then mentions Australia, and New Zeland. I think Australia and New Zeland will be Nov and Dec dates.

Now, I could be completely wrong, but being optimistic and the way they worded that implies more dates could be coming as venue availability is being checked on.

I'm honestly just doing some wishful thinking here, but it seems so logical that this is what they would do considering their tour set up. Guess we will just have to see.

I figured the additional dates would be the Australian shows. They explicitly state no other dates in North America. I'm from Texas and hope that I'm wrong, but I'm not optimistic at this time :D

Nah it would just be announced closer to it so that people thinking of going to ACL would not want to change travel plans if there were headlining shows of the bands own.
