Pretty sure they played quite a few dates down South last summer...quit whining already.
Quite a few? 4 Shows is "quite a few"??? And one was a festival! What the hell are you talking about?

people, quit saying "you will get shows next year" as if you know! we won't get any non-festival shows anytime soon. they know we want to see them. they know Texas has multiple huge cities and THEY DON'T CARE! whether it's less money, politics, the heat? who fucking knows but i don't expect to see them after ACL for a looooong time!
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
It would be nice to see the guys. At least I have a TOOL show and an Avett Brothers show coming up this month here in Charlotte. For you people that get to see PJ.....ENJOY!!!
I just saw eddie ATL from 3 rows back 2 nights in a row thanks to 10c just over 2 weeks ago??? I got my fixer!
That was all the love I needed. They will be back. Guaranteed! I bet come Feb-Mar 2010
they will play 2 shows in ATL, I bet they play Birmingham and Greenville, SC as well.
exactly. At least Ed came to Atlanta and played two killer shows. Other than Maui, I think they were the best of the tour.
Honolulu 2 blew them all out of the water.
Back on topic. Jeff already stated that PJ would be playing a few shows in the south, so I'd be more than confident that they'll be there sometime in the first half of 2010
it was from an interview that he did when TONE came out. All that he said was that he was looking forward to coming back to the south in 2009 (which meant ACL). He never said "shows" plural or anything about 2010

exactly. I don't care either way as I am lucky to be going to ACL to see them and that is better than no pearl jam show at all in Texas. However, I think people (I was too) were expecting a Houston or Dallas stop instead of them playing LA before Austin then turning around and playing 3 more shows in California. Two being LA after just playing there before Austin. I think that is why people are so upset and it's understandable. I'm just glad we get to see them Festival or not. 1 show is better than none. They could play a secret show on the 3rd in Austin or it's a bit of a stretch and play Dallas, Houston.on this mini tour. The Austin Sat night show sounds most logical though.Bands have been known to throw last minute gigs together at venues around the festival.

The ACL taping has already been confirmed though the ACL website- someone posted the link here recently- so I don't see how they could be playing any more shows around ACL

Tour
Main article: Riot Act Tour
Pearl Jam promoted the album with tours in Australia, Japan, and North America in 2003.[38] The tours were the band's first with keyboardist Boom Gaspar. The two legs of the North American tour focused on the Midwestern United States, the East Coast, and the West Coast.
The band received much publicity for its energetic politically-charged performances during the tour. At many shows during the 2003 North American tour, Vedder performed "Bu$hleaguer" with a rubber mask of George W. Bush, wearing it at the beginning of the song and then hanging it on a mic stand to allow him to sing. The band made news when it was reported that several fans left after Vedder had "impaled" the Bush mask on his mic stand at the band's April 1, 2003 show in Denver, Colorado show at the Pepsi Center.[39] Following a performance of the song at Pearl Jam's April 30, 2003 show in Uniondale, New York at the Nassau Coliseum, the band was met with boos from the crowd and chants of "U-S-A." Vedder responded by defending his right to free speech and the band followed with a performance of The Clash's "Know Your Rights".
Haven't you southerners realized that Pearl Jam isn't interested in playing for imbred, hillbilly morons?

People also booed at Nashville and Oklahoma. People left in Denver during the song. Uniondale was the "last straw" per se, when the band decided they shouldn't play the song anymore so their wouldn't alienate their fans.
