From the Purple and Gold to the Green. Try to stay healthy this year ey? We have a little something to settle. Everyone out here is missing Trevor Ariza and griping about Artest. I love it. Artest is a beast. A crazy beast. But a beast nonethless. Phil and Kobe have coveted Ron Ron for years. Now they got him. Its already entertaining as all hell. He chose #37 to honor the # of weeks Thriller was #1... That shit alone will be worth the price of admission.
Sheed is similarly a coup for Boston. But boy is the window tight for that squad. Adding all these old guys doesnt boad well 3 years from now. Lakers and Boston look to be on about the same pace. Playing for the next 3 years. Were sweating losing Odom right now. He was disposable until Sheed signed with Chowder town. Now he is a must. Thats a big team that got bigger.
If we sign Odom or manage a coup to get David Lee no one out West beats us though the Spurs are tooled to do some damage. See you in June Chowder Heads.
Bron is just a circus act. He tried to get everyone to Cleveland and all he got was big fat Shaq. That cat aint winnin no ring any time soon. Oh, sorry. Forgot he's a winner.
It wasn't that long ago that Kobe was a little diva bitch, people change and most of the time grow up. LeBron is only 24, so he dosen't want to shake hands after losing a playoff series he thought his team would win, big deal, who cares.I get tired of all the "patting each other on the ass" all these players do with other teams. It's a competetive game, your not supposed to like the other team. Now that being said, did LeBron act like a baby and poor sport, probably, but the guy is only 24. If he's acting like this at age 28 then maybe he will be labeled a baby.I'm a homer but I'm cutting the guy some slack.
The Lakers are the team to beat, and they only got better I'm afraid.
The Knicks are a disaster of an organization, I could do a better job running them.
Maybe his age does justify it, maybe it doesn't. But, this supports why I think the NBA shouldn't take kids right out of high school. College is an important learning step, physically and emotionally...definitely emotionally. Plus, everyone hyping LeBron up I think just got to him and he shouldn't have expected to win, then he wouldn't have been let down.
All I'm saying is that, no matter how much of a "hot-shit" player you are or not, or how young or old you are...it's a matter of respect for sportsmanship and the game. Yeah, sure it's competetive but it can be competetive and you can can still lose like a man...
Just my opinion though, but I think LeBron should have made himself look a little better and at least go congratulate the winning team...for somebody who is "The King"...have some class man.

I do agree with you, it was a shitty thing for LeBron to do. I would never act that way, as I'm sure most people wouldn't. The guy is young, and I'm also with you on some kind of rule that kids should at least go to college for a minimum, let's say 2 years. Bottom line is LeBron made a poor decision, hopefully he'll learn from his mistakes.
Didn't Kobe just walk off after the Celtics beat them? I never heard anybody raise a fuss about that.
I'm not sure, but if he did, that would be quite all right because he's Kobe. I'm sure if Kevin Garnett did the same thing It would be o.k. too cuz "he's a competitive player".
all very good points...he definitely gets in his own head. Maybe Boston will be a positive change for him??
I think it will be. I think Garnett is a key for him. He is such a great leader on and off the floor, and he commands respect. Just from what I noticed, it seems like if Sheed respects you, he will play his heart out, but once you lose his respect, he's done trying for you.
Garnett is key, you're right. He's my favorite player in the NBA :-) I think he gets a lot of respect from the other players...seems like he's always working hard on the court and having fun...hopefully his work ethic will rub off on Rasheed.
Is it weird that I find nothing sexier than a girl talking about basketball?
Man! I think I need help!

ugh-I can't stand Kobe and I absolutely hate that he's good...he's such a whiner. (not far off from TO, in my humble opinion)
Re: Lebron...I don't think he was right in walking off the court, but I gotta say that I like that he cares that much about losing and that it actually bothered him. Seems like a lot of players care more about the $$ then the game.

That's a very good point. It's nice to see he appreciates winning, and not just geting a fat paycheck. However, if he can master the art of losing with style...he'll be alright in my book.
and yeah, Kobe....meh, I got over being upset because he's so damn good. He's on his 14th NBA season next year...he'll be in the books soon enough...

"master the art of losing with style" that's exactly right; you hit the nail on the head!! (yes, i just used both a semicolon AND a cliche in the same sentence)
I think I can't stand the Kobe thing bc I live in LA right now...i get so sick of hearing about him, but I know you're right...and he deserves everything that goes with being that good.

You can't deny skill, or even talent. He definitely can play basketball. But I think he's improved a lot from what he used to be, but still his personality in the past has just ruined his image in my mind. But of course, he's not the only athlete like that.
He's already made his spot in NBA history, and as far as I'm concerned, good for him. He's earned it, because like I said he's a hell of a ball player. But he's the player that I love to hate .
I can understand your frustration, I bet people are worshipping the very mentioning of his name in LA.

i don't really care if lebron wants to be the first basketball gazillionare and hasn't won anything yet...he isn't the first one yet, and i'd be shocked to hear any player say he wouldn't want to be. he still gets on the court and PLAYS. he wants to win--and is pissed when he loses--more players should be affected by the outcome of the game.

YOUR RIGHT. LEBRON IS NOT A WHINER. HE IS A PRIMADONNA WHO SAYS HE WANTS TO WIN. BUT DOESNT. AND WHEN HE DOESNT HE IS CLASSLESS. AND RINGLESS....STILL
I have zero respect for Lebron James. Let's go back to 2008 when the Knicks deal 3 years in the future leaked. Lebron didn't cover it up and say, "Hey, I'm a Cav." When Charles Barkley tells you to shut the hell up, you probably deserve it. Say what you want about Charles but he usually tells it how it is. I agree with everything else said up until this point. Ariza and Wallace should be great fits, esp. for the Celts if Sheed can keep his mouth shut.
And it's quite clear that Kobe is in his own world..

If the Celtics can snag Grant Hill I'll give them the edge over the Lakers in the Finals next year.
Not a Rasheed fan, but he's a proven winner. Nobody will be able to score within 15 feet of the basket with him and KG.
Lakers and Spurs will be a doozy in the western finals.
Lakers and Spurs should be more competitive but if the Lakers re-sign Odom I still see L.A. taking the Spurs. McDyess being their only inside presence v. Pau, Drew, and Odom??? Artest and Kobe v. Ginobli and Jefferson. Good matchup there but edge to the Lakers inside.

Sheed is a great pickup for the Celts. In the back of my mind I was kinda hoping the Lakers would let Lamar walk and grab Sheed. Can you imagine a team fielding Kobe, Sheed, and Ron Ron??? Like I said last year on one beats the Celtics in the east other than the Celtics. (with injuries). And I was right. I think the same holds true for this year. Same with the Lakers. If everyone stays healthy the re-match should be on.

i don't really care if lebron wants to be the first basketball gazillionare and hasn't won anything yet...he isn't the first one yet, and i'd be shocked to hear any player say he wouldn't want to be. he still gets on the court and PLAYS. he wants to win--and is pissed when he loses--more players should be affected by the outcome of the game.
and we all know kobe is a whiner--no matter how good he is. i don't hear lebron bitching that he's isn't a billionare, just saying that he WANTS to be.

not weird at all
YOUR RIGHT. LEBRON IS NOT A WHINER. HE IS A PRIMADONNA WHO SAYS HE WANTS TO WIN. BUT DOESNT. AND WHEN HE DOESNT HE IS CLASSLESS. AND RINGLESS....STILL
And it's quite clear that Kobe is in his own world..
Barkley is the man. He also knows where to get the best blowjobs in Phoenix
But seriously, check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvvSI2DRvF0, Barkley was the shit, I totally agree with the first comment under the video.
I love the 21 foot jumper over Robinson. Awesome!

Good call, I think it did get a little side-tracked.

Yeah I agree, and it'll be a damn good re-match. Two teams with some experienced and talented players.
