Artest to Lakers. Wallace to Celtics

KG back next year, and Rasheed Wallace. Along with Ray, Paul, and Rajon.
Let's go Celtics.
Although picking up Artest was not a bad move for LA. Also, Kobe has signed another 2 year contract with Los Angeles.
With Shaq now in Cleveland, Turkoglu heading to Toronto for 5 years, and Boston also potentially picking up Grant Hill...2010 should be an interesting NBA season.
I already can't wait for the tip-off...

but around guys like KG, Allen and Pierce, he should do ok ... he's got championship experience ... I like the move ... especially if Leon Powe isn't coming back.

For the some crazy reason why won't they give this guy a contract he has certainly earned it?

i wonder if lebrons even gonna try with his eyes already set on NY

If the Celtics can snag Grant Hill I'll give them the edge over the Lakers in the Finals next year.
Not a Rasheed fan, but he's a proven winner. Nobody will be able to score within 15 feet of the basket with him and KG.
Lakers and Spurs will be a doozy in the western finals.
It won't happen cause the salary cap is going to be lowered to 50 mil so fitting a player of Lebron's salary appears to be highly unlikely.

They are building a championship calliber team in Cleveland and I would almost guarantee that LeBron has a major say in what the Cav's do in regards to coaching, free agents and even the draft. in other words, he basically has partial control of decision making. NY ain't giving him that.
New York means MAJOR MAJOR bank.
As much as he's making now, it would probably quadruple if he were to be in the city with teh endorsements

plus any city is gonna put up with all the other needy bullshit you mentioned just to have him... the fact of the matter is that any team is gonna be "championship caliber" with lebron

For whatever reason he seems to love the YANKEES.

Me too! I've been a Wallace fan since his days in Portland. This will be a hell of a support system for Garnett down low. He's not a bad shooter either, great range for his size. I see another banner hanging.
I do agree that it's a shame they don't have the iconic Boston Garden still up...but hey, new arena...new memories
Grant Hill would be an awesome addition..if they snagged Hill, they would be a team that everyoen would have to watch out for. God damn, I cannot wait for the season to start.
As far as Rasheed's attitude. He's a basketball player, they've all got some attitudes, Artest is probably my best example, and look at Kobe...I think he just needed to proove to everyone that he could do it without Shaq, and LeBron...talk about attitude after storming off the court when the Magic beat the Cavs...if you're as big and hyped up as LeBron is, enough to be called "The King", if you lose don't be a sore loser and storm off the court without shaking hadns and showing sportsman ship.
I seriously hope the coachign staff shined a light on that. He really made a fool of himself, IMO.

sure "theyve all got some attitudes"... but the dream team was able to sleep with whores, cheat on their wives, and contract HIV without making half the fuss todays players do about the stupidest shit... or maybe i was just too young back then to notice it all... just feels like different game... dont make your bullshit ego the biggest part of the game (lebrons pregame flour toss )

As a Piston fan, I know from experience that when Rasheed is happy, he may be the toughest guy in the league to guard, because he has great post moves and still can shoot from anywhere on the court. He can also be one of the best teammates in the world. Detroit won the championship in 2004 because of his leadership and hunger.
But when Rasheed is not happy- he is the biggest cancer in the NBA. He'll get bent out of shape about everything, refuse to go post up and stop playing defense all together. And he seems to be the kind of guy that once things get ugly, he won't ever see the situation any differently, regardless of any changes made to appease him.
I think Sheed will buy into the system in Boston and help the Celtics contend for another title, but the minute he feels unhappy, he's lost.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more...I was possibly too young to remember all that too. But it's true today's game is a little bit more about ego, bling, and who's the "best" instead of going out and just playign good old fashioned basketball. It's a shame, but it won't be changed. We just have to live with it.
As far as LeBron goes...just whatever. I won't walk around telling every person that he sucks, because he doesn't. He is a good player, but I think he is way too hyped up...and yeah, his stupid ass flour toss thing should just stop. It's a little annoying, but hey that's just me....I'm sure the kids love it
This is all true about Wallace. When he wants to be a great player, he definitely can be. But if he wants to piss and moan, there is no stopping him. That's why I am just in high hopes that he'll enjoy the energy and attitude and stay happy in Boston and maybe get a green ring

I think he will. His best season in Detroit was the year he came on board. He left Portland and was ready for a change of scenery, and I think when he left here he was looking for the same thing.
But the other thing Celtic fans will want to keep an eye on is his relationship with Doc Rivers. When he came to Detroit he played under Larry Brown and you could tell Brown had Sheed's respect from the get-go. I don't know if it's because Brown is a great coach or a fellow Tar Heel, but you knew Sheed would go to war for him every night.
Flip Saunders and Michael Curry never got that respect from him. And I think that had something to do with his lack of defense and soft "shoot the 3 every time" offense.
I don't want to offend the Greenies here, but I still question Doc as a coach. He hasn't proven to me that he is great yet. But he's got a ring, so what do I know

all very good points...he definitely gets in his own head. Maybe Boston will be a positive change for him??

I think it will be. I think Garnett is a key for him. He is such a great leader on and off the floor, and he commands respect. Just from what I noticed, it seems like if Sheed respects you, he will play his heart out, but once you lose his respect, he's done trying for you.
I like your thinking. They predicted Marbury would be a chemisty-killer...turns out he didn't even really make a flicker in Boston, granted I think he tried too hard NOT to be a problem...he just didn't play to well in the playoffs. Or at least everytime I watched him he could never make a play...
Good point as well. Garnett may be the one to keep him in line and let him know that "Hey, you're on a contending team. Shape up."

Garnett is key, you're right. He's my favorite player in the NBA :-) I think he gets a lot of respect from the other players...seems like he's always working hard on the court and having fun...hopefully his work ethic will rub off on Rasheed.
Whatever you are, be a good one --Lincoln
Yeah, Garnett is a hard workign player, and as it seems, a pretty loyal one too. Just look at all the years he stayed in Minnesota and really didn't get anywhere except for maybe the first round of playoffs, although I could be wrong about that.

Loyal is right, i mean, he was with Minn since...'96? I'm guessing he could have gone elsewhere earlier than he did. I'm glad Boston has him now!

Everything everyone said about his emotions is true, so I won't repeat them. I think the especially what people said about a change of scenery. At the end of the season it was like he already decided to retire. Just sat out by the 3 point line and if the ball happened to come his way he'd shoot it. Never played down low. I think that had a lot to do with the coaching situation though. Just being defiant. Hopefully you Celtics will get a Sheed with some energy left to play on the block, but really it won't matter because you've already got KG and a few other bigs. Sheed can probably be where he wants on the court with your team. Detroit needs a bruiser down low and that doesn't seem to exist right now...
Sheed is similarly a coup for Boston. But boy is the window tight for that squad. Adding all these old guys doesnt boad well 3 years from now. Lakers and Boston look to be on about the same pace. Playing for the next 3 years. Were sweating losing Odom right now. He was disposable until Sheed signed with Chowder town. Now he is a must. Thats a big team that got bigger.
If we sign Odom or manage a coup to get David Lee no one out West beats us though the Spurs are tooled to do some damage. See you in June Chowder Heads.
Bron is just a circus act. He tried to get everyone to Cleveland and all he got was big fat Shaq. That cat aint winnin no ring any time soon. Oh, sorry. Forgot he's a winner.
Yeah, a circus act. Until he wants to come to your team... If any one out there is going to say that Lebron isn't a top 3 player in the NBA, they are effing crazy.
The Lakers are the team to beat, and they only got better I'm afraid.
The Knicks are a disaster of an organization, I could do a better job running them.
Maybe his age does justify it, maybe it doesn't. But, this supports why I think the NBA shouldn't take kids right out of high school. College is an important learning step, physically and emotionally...definitely emotionally. Plus, everyone hyping LeBron up I think just got to him and he shouldn't have expected to win, then he wouldn't have been let down.
All I'm saying is that, no matter how much of a "hot-shit" player you are or not, or how young or old you are...it's a matter of respect for sportsmanship and the game. Yeah, sure it's competetive but it can be competetive and you can can still lose like a man...
Just my opinion though, but I think LeBron should have made himself look a little better and at least go congratulate the winning team...for somebody who is "The King"...have some class man.
