Feliz has a team option for next year. The majority of their team is intact thru 2011.

They need a bullpen arm, a starter, and a decent bat or two for the bench (coste is not a ML player). They will be there in the end.

And I agree about atlanta...they get hudson back soon and their pitching is scary good (lowe, hanson, jurrjens, vazquez, hudson)

I'm missing something in the beginning here - are we saying I'm dumb or smart? I feel like Fredo in Godfather 2...."I'M SMAWT!!"
wasn't directing that comment towards you...I'm just tired of the philly media/fans bashing rollins. He was in a slump and everyone wants to replace him. He is one of the best defensive SSs in baseball. People need to relax.

Same idiots want Andy Reid fired...drives me nuts
Yeah, I'm definitely not one of the WIP-ers/Angelo followers(READ: White Trash). But, I will say this much, next year I think you have to at least listen to offers for Rollins. His defense is definitely worth it, but he will be getting a huge pay increase. We've definitely have him on the cheap at 8 mil. And in all reality, Rollins will not end his career as a Phillie so I think you have to plan ahead.

ALSO, quotes are definitely working here. Annnnnd, I make that Halladay deal in a heartbeat. Like I said, the CC deal was pretty much for one player for a rent-a-player. You're going to have give up more than one stud for a chance to be the World Series favorite for the next two years - at least in the NL. Plus, Halladay is NOT resigning with the Jays so they should look to make a deal.

toronto is asking for 5-6 players/prospects for halladay. I don't care, like I said, I'd trade all of Reading.

I went to college with Angelo's son. He was such a nice dude. I can't stand 610...I never listen to that crap. It's Jody Mac/satellite radio/or my ipod when I'm in the car.

And I would trade howard before I think about trading rollins. howard is the most overrated player in baseball.

We have Michael Taylor, a right fielder, dominating in Double-A. It wouldn't surprise me if they move Werth or Victorino in the offseason to make room for him.

Kyle Drabek is another hot prospect knocking on the door -- a hard-throwing righty -- so they might let Blanton walk.

Good time to be a Phillies fan... 8-)

Moving Victorino would be a mistake. Drabek is unproven, coming off tommy john surgery and isn't really knocking on the door considering he's only been at AA for a month now, I don't see him making the rotation until mid-late 2010. Also from earlier no way will it be the Angels, the Phils will be playing the Red Sox in October...if they're lucky.

Also the Phils won't get Halladay, he wants to stay in the AL.

I used to feel the same way. But the guy has more RBI's than anyone else in the Majors since he came up. That alone is enough for me. This guy sneezes and still puts up 40/130. He will trip over his feet and you'll look up to see he put 130 ribbies for the year. I'll take the K's. And he has dramatically improved his defense. I will hate the day he goes. He's half the reason Utley gets so many pitches to hit - the other reason being Chase is a really good hitter.

have you seen howard's OBP? his numbers have regressed every year since his MVP season. and his defense is horrible. He made three brutal plays tonight alone...not being ready at 1B on Harang's hit to RF, not throwing to 2B on a bunt up the 1B line (he never does this anymore because he can't throw the ball accurately), and picking up phillips' bunt in the ninth that was going foul. He does one thing, hits home runs. I like him, but he is overrated.

and the protection thing is BS...utley rips. He is the best Phillie of all time. Look at a guy like Pujols (not comparing utley to pujols), but he has nobodies hitting behind him and he still puts up numbers.

he is an absolute butcher at first...he has seal hands, the range of a fire hydrant, and let's not even discuss his throwing.

He had 19 errors last year...19!!!!! no position player should ever have that many, especially a 1B

You're being too harsh. Since he worked with Perlozzo he's only had FOUR erros this season - FOUR. That's not friggin bad for a guy that made 19 last year. I agree with you the man doesn't know how to throw a baseball, but don't blame him for the loss tonight. Blame it on 1 FOR 12...1 FOR FUCKING 12 RISP. Now THAT is ridiculous. Howard's not Pujols - of course not, there's only one Pujols. But there's plenty of clubs out there that'll take the power and run production. OBP doesn't matter as much to me when you consistently get that many ribbies out of him. You're not going to see him go first to third, or first to home too often. He is what he is.

And Mike Schmidt is the greatest Phillie of all time. Chase has a got a ways to go on that.

not blaming howard for the loss (werth's AB with bases loaded and no outs was horrendous)...just saying he consistently makes negative plays that don't show up in box scores or stats (you can't get a throwing error if you never throw the ball). I'm not a hater, but he is overrated.

schmidt was great...I'll take utley though

you go to a lot of games? I am at CBP a lot (I've had partial season tix since the year they signed thome). We should get together and have beers if you're ever down there.

Yeah, man. I've got a Sunday plan. So the link from Philly Mag says these shows are gonna be the 28th, 30th, and 31st. It's going to be quite the quandary deciding whether to go to the first show or go to game 1 of the WS. Hopefully they'll start on the road like last time. ;)

I was at all 3 home WS games last year (4 if you count the restart), so I'll be hitting the spectrum. The WS games are on so late we will be able to catch the end of the game after the concert.

because of Selig's asanine rule I guess we'll know next Tuesday if this is a possibility. that would be insane

Rollins is making 8.5 this year and 2010 and 2011. 2011, the Phils can buy him out for 2 mil so he's not getting any pay increase anytime soon.

Yeah, I was at both parts of game 5. Unbelievable. We did our first Clearwater trip this past year for St. Patty's Day. Definitely becoming an annual thing now.

And yeah, I'll be most likely doing the shows over the games just because I can't see myself missing them. I think I'm going to try and get my hands on tix to the Birds game on Sunday as well.

Eagles are stacked...Flyers locked up Pronger today...3 PJ shows coming...life is good in Philly

Well there is no way the National League could win an All Star game, so I guess it won't be in Philly. But if the Yanks are playing in the Philly in the World Series, the same day Pearl Jam is in the same parking lot... that's too much for me to handle.
