10% fan club rule with regard to philly

edited July 2009 in The Porch
i saw someone mention something about the fan club ticket limits. since comcast sells their own tickets for the wachovia complex, i wonder if the 10c will get as many tickets as the fan club needs or if there will be some sort of cap in place. should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

would be great since it's not ticketmaster or Live Nation if they surprise us and all 10c members that apply get tickets to at least one show (if they do lottery like the EV tour). Wonder if it will be a lottery, where you select one show or if they will all go on sale at the same time... Let the anxiety begin!

The shows in Camden usually don't sell out right away, but I think the spectrum will be a little different. Hope to get to see all (3?) shows, since with a budget and 2 small kids, couldn't travel anywhere else to see them this year..

i don't think it'll be a lottery as the TO and chicago shows were not. if they announce all three dates, it'll probably be all three on sale at once.
    just my opinion

    there's an idea!
it would limit the problems of trying to purchase three separate pairs of tickets

    right?

and if the 10c was allowed to take as many tickets for the shows as they needed they could sell 3 day passes first to assure all the hardcores entry to each show, then sell off pairs to each single show a day or so later, then let ticketmaster have the rest.

and there probably laughing at your pipe dream of an idea. Its a great idea and I would love to see actually it happen. but as we all know the 10c never makes things easy on us. They should do the 109 ticket sales for each show on a different day instead of all at once. that be the logical thing to do.

And I think it would be cool if 10C gave us money so that during the 3 day stay we can buy all the hot dogs and frappes that we wanted!

Or they should make these Philly shows 100% 10 club member shows.

My guess is they'll have more 10-C tix than usual but nowhere near the full venue.

10c has gotten around the 10% rule for TM venues before. The 2006 tour definately had shows where more than 10 percent of crowd has 10c tickets. I'm not sure how they do it. And I know the odd time they can't pull it off, or if its a small tour (or an ed tour), they don't do it?

Is ticketbastard being more strict on this tour?

You and I think alike on these matters quite often. :)

As some of you have pointed out it is a non-TM event, so we can speculate on a single 10c-only night. But the fact of the matter is there is still a rather large ticket company handling it, and they hardly have their hands clean of the same shady shit TM pulls. If they had even one night dedicated to 10c only, Live Nation will miss the chance to make crazy money from the independent brokers. So I doubt they'd agree to it at all.

Also, that 3-day pass is SUCH a neat idea, but not very likely.

there is no way msg last year was 10%... i had 10c tickets both nights in the very last section of the back floor... everyone around me was 10c.. and the wings were 10c as well as ome behind the stage

i would guess that they negotiated for more 10c seating for spectrum shows. just a guess though

why is philly any different than any other venue / city ?

Aside from handling theeir own tickets, im sure they will work something out with PJ / 10C as normally happens in any city /venue.

I don't think fanclubs get anything more then 6% these days. I got good ticketmaster tix on stones side for both nights in the 300s and there was not a chance in hell anyone around me was in the 10 club.

Most bands can now only get 8 to 10 percent of a show's tickets because they run up against tight contracts between Ticketmaster and the venues.

i actually hope they are on weekdays to help locals get tix instead of battling half the country for tix to weekend shows

i also hope they are annopuncing the west coast dates at the same time as hinted too, so that again locals are not battling to get tix against half the country

Agreed. It will help everyone if they announced them together. That is assuming that there are still going to be any west coast shows...

    HUGE +1

What I'd gathered from the tweet is that the philly and aussie/oz shows will be told to us at midnight. I don't know bout anyone else but I find it odd to be announcing philly shows during the night time when everyone in the northeast is basically sleeping.

You may have read that from one of my posts.
Back in 2006 Ten Club told me this when I asked what percentage of a venue's tickets are sold to TC members:

    Ten Club's response:
"10-20 percent of venue capacity, depending on the show."
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)
