I picked up a wallet last night, made sure to ask for one of the opened wallets and sure enough the pick was initialed "EV." - the wallet's a little tight for all the crap I carry in mine though.

I actually believe it was real

I think ninersfan gets a lot of this merch, whether by attending the shows, or having contacts, and he's virtually always the first to ebay rightly or wrongly.

I havent bought from him, but from the stuff he has for sale I always presumed he had a good contact in the scene
it is real. I'm holding a pic in my hand that I got for someone and it looks identical to it- and not all of the picks sold were signed. I saw some that were not in ATL. If you got one signed, consider yourself lucky

I got a signed pick at the 24th Atlanta show in a wallet. Had no idea when I bought the wallet it was signed, so I didn't expect it. It has an EV. and is written in black marker or sharpie.
It looks like a real inital done with marker and I doubt Eddie would let someone else sit around and sign picks with his initals. Neither would Joe Merch.
By the way both nights in Atlanta were great!

Its probably a big ask but if anyone is going to anymore shows and they would grab me one with the EV signed pick I would be extremely grateful.

I have one that a kind person got me from the philly shows (with the Evil Knivel pick) but being the pick freak I'm being tempted now by the initialled pick too :D

See I was wondering if some had the Evil Knivel pics. I saw those in the earlier merch pictures now its a turtle and EV in sharpie on the back?

Yep people have assumed he ran out of the picks and replaced them with the initialled ones.....
my assumptions is he knew there would be people like you that have to have both... yet another marketing ploy... would you think of buying 2 wallets otherwise? genius!

it is pretty cool though... wouldnt mind having one myself :geek:

I have the turtle pic with the written EV on the back if someone wants to trade for an Evil Knivel style pick.

I got one, too...signed with a period...sat in box 21, best seats ever and there was a Kieneval pick sitting on the floor of BOX 21 before the show...the couple that joined us in the box told me that Ed goes around the venue before the show and places random Kieneval picks around.an interesting side note...they only had 1.000 sniper programs for night 2 in ATL and they were only giving them to ORCH seats...you can see it 2 ways...good for the 10C members, bad for the average guy with crappier seats...just n interesting thought....my seats were absolutely incredible, but no sniper in my program...I went and asked a nice female usher why no sniper and that's what she told me...she then handed me one and I was very appreciative...I didn't even ask her for it, so she was very nice....what a fucking set he played last night.....pretty different from all the other nights based on what I've read.......made me cry...truly

Been reading through this thread and I wanted to make my thoughts clear.

ALL of the EV picks obtained at the show are signed by Eddie Vedder in my opinion.

They look just like his newest signature.

With that said, the question that started this thread was a very specific pick that was being sold by ninersfan.

My first thought is that exact one is fake. I can't be sure as I've only seen a couple pictures of these.

That one from the auction looks a little off and the marker is a bit thicker. Now could it be authentic? absolutely.

In order to make a better opinion I would need to see quite a few samples of this item. If people from the shows verify that Eddie used a skinny sharpie, and a thicker sharpie, then I would change my tune to think even the autograph in question is probably real.

it gets tough to analyze autographs without holding them, and having a reasonable sample size.

So I reserve the right to change my opinion. But for my money I would not have bought that ninersfan pick. Just a bit too skeptical. Had I been to these shows and obtained a pick in a wallet I would be happily admiring what is sure to be a 100% real E.V. initialized signature.

At Atlanta I, I bought two wallets with initialed picks. One set of initials was skinny, and the other was thick like what is shown by ninersfan.
