Are you sure it's not just 110% official? Or 200% official?

I think they mean three shows in the same place, three nights in a row. Three nights seems like a lot. I thought Jones Beach was relatively small (compared to MSG or something) and that's why they ended up with 3 nights. Of course I have no idea how big the spectrum is. Is it a basketball stadium like United Center or something?

logistically it makes no damn sense for a band who is supposed to be doing a handful of dates in the western US in October to end up in Philly? Only way I can see it is if all West dates are prior to end of October then they close the mini tour out with Philly. Either way thats a lot of wasted gas to come all the way up there for a 3 night run... and nothing else routed up East. time will tell -

that's nothing. bruce had a show in norway this past wednesday night, and he played bonnaroo three nights later, in tennessee. :geek:

After seeing the first 7 shows on the 2009 tour itinerary, I can't believe that there are still people who are adamantly discounting these rumours based on logistics alone. It blows my mind.

While logistically it makes no sense to do that, this year's touring plans have been totally erratic and unpredictable in the way it was planned. From recording an album, to an EV east coast tour, to a four-show Europe PJ tour, back to the east coast for three shows, then over to the west coast. If you ask me, this makes no less sense than the rest of the tour - not to say it makes sense.

I'm with Vedd Hedd, I'd expect a day off in there somewhere.

But 3 in a row would be great.

Article in the new RollingStone says PJ is planning a "full tour" around the same time as the release of Backspacer (9/22)... I'm gonna go ahead and get my hopes up for the Spectrum! I'll definitely be doing all 3 shows

The Spectrum is one of the most famous arenas in the US. The building holds 18,369 for concerts. I just saw Springsteen there for 2 nights and KOL for a night. Seeing GreenDay in July. The Spectrum is a GREAT venue for concerts.

Check out the wikipedia page if you want to read about the building's great history.
  • Arenas shows are arena shows.... way too big!

My new question is can Ed's voice take 3 nights in a row??? Even cities that have had 3 night runs have had a day off somewhere, somehow inbetween.... Anything is possible just still not a 100% believer.

The e-mail last week said tenative Western US dates, not Western US and 1 up East because they're bulldozing a old ass arena-
  • So far we've heard Seattle on 9/22, Texas on 10/4, that should put them on track to finish things off at the spectrum 10/28-10/31!!!!

Went to the Spectrum once for a Phantoms game, but it wasnt too impressive for that setting. I would get a true feeling of the Spectrum if this is true.

    I believe it will happen

make no mistake, they will play multiple dates in the northeast.
they can absolutely start on the west coast, play through texas and the south, and finish with a boatload of dates in the northeast. Break for the holidays and then head to Aussie/NZ in early 2010. It will be summer there and Ed's gotta surf!

Thats my guess. Has been since they sort of announced the record will be out in the fall.

Well, the difference is simple: This time we have MULTIPLE sources who all seem pretty sure. Last time we had ONE source who was 300% sure.

It seems relatively clear at this point...4 Euro shows and TO/CHI are essentially to get the ball rolling and then they will swing in with a full scale tour as the new album drops. West Coast dates in September starting in the NW and swinging down to Texas for ACL...continuing through the midwest/south and back up the east coast, which obviously fits the Spectrum talk...and then finishing up in the Northeast...probably in Boston.

Then, they will head back to Europe some time in the winter and who knows where else after that...but we do know they are returning to Europe at some point in the next year to promote the new album...this we do know.

It makes plenty of sense...do the damn math.
  • I guess no one read my entry on the Philly rumor thread...........

I was the one who asked Ed in Philly if we'd see him at the Spectrum........take it to the bank people :)
How I choose to feel......is how I am.
