At the Wiltern in L.A. last year, we got stuck in front of some losers (obviously very drunk) who kept yelling-out Eddie's name, and kept saying "Man, this show is tight" over and over again. Next to them were some other fellas who almost got into a fistfight with the people behind them.

Instead of trying to deal with an octet of idiots, I got us moved (upgraded) to seats in a more civilized row.

For the record...that "drunken hooligan/screaming idiot" from Newark was not drunk, nor an idiot...he patiently waited to ask his question like everybody else...and was even interupted twice before he even asked his great question. i will be with him at both tower shows and look forward to making the most out of a possible Q&A session again.

dont jump to conclusions..you make yourself look like a jackass

I diddn't write the above "quote" about drunken hooligans. That was a respose from someone else.Look back through posts.

The YB story from Newark was incredible! Hats off to the ONE dude who yelled at the RIGHT time. Seriously, top 3 show moment of all time for me.
    Why go home?

So you will be an uppercrust attorney now?

Welcome to the upper class....please learn to behave as such!

Nah, I don't work hard enough to be upper crust. And if there's one thing people can't say about me it's that I bought into the typical honky law lifestyle.

just wait until you get used to some "luxuries"....eventually, they become necessities, and then, BAM, you will be uppercrust without realizing it!

I really have no desire to see Eddie do a solo show.

It seems so strange to me that he is doing a solo tour. It just doesn't work for me. Not passing judgement, just commenting.

If you went ... you would change your mind. It's like Ed Vedder playing in your living room. Tiny venues. Very talkative. Lots of storytime. Really cool.

I'll put it this way: I've seen Pearl Jam 16 times ... the Ed solo show I saw in LA last year was probably better than 10 of them. Probably because it was so out of the ordinary.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

Why would anyone even think about rules for a show. Even when rules are stated on my ticket I dont obey them. Lets see no cameras..... duh sneak them in. It doesnt say no drugs but I sneak those in with my booze and camera. I paid for a ticket so you shouldnt have to tell me what I can and cannot do. I went last night got a bit fired up but tonight I might change my mind but I doubt it. Its about 5 hours before he goes on and I ve been drinking since noon but thats how I can make it through the show. I have to talk to so many people who think they know more about eddie or PJ and how many shows and blah blah. If I wasnt wasted I couldnt deal

i sat next to an asshole like you last night, this guy wouldnt shut the fuck up, made the show miserable for everyone around us. yelling at all the wrong times, drinking uncontrollably, complaining how bad his 10c seats were , even pissing on the floor. requesting songs, thinking he was the only one at the show. i even saw him taking photos, talking on the phone. just ruined the show for at least 20 people from what i could see.

why cant people just go watch the show, fuckin animals have to ruin it for everyone else. just stay home cheeto73, please!!!

You have to be drunk to be able to make it through a show? You make it sound like it is a punishment. I understand not liking the whole "I'm a bigger fan than you" BS that goes on. Why is it a contest? Is there a biggest fan award that I missed somewhere?
Maybe you should re-read my original post sober. I wasn't trying to start shit, I was simply stating that there was a lot of behavior last go-round that fans complained about. Like yelling out when Eddie was talking. And maybe there should be a basic code of conduct so as not to ruin everyone elses show expierience.
It sounds like you need drugs to deal with basic situations,(other fans) and maybe that's not a good thing.

    Sweet sweet Ganja
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

I had a similar thing happen to me at a U2 show years ago. The guy next to me was so drunk that he kept falling into me. Then he puked and kept apologising to me with vomit stuck in his braces. My only consolation was when I kicked his jacket off of his seat to cover his puke.

People are losers and if it happened to me now instead of 15 years ago, I would have told him to fuck off and go home.

Shows are shows really. It's not just you but a ton of other people. Sometimes you have to look passed (even though it can be extremely difficult) alot of the people that come hammered or lit up in front of you. It can kinda ruin the experience. But you also have to remember that your there for the some band (your all hopefully there to see Pearl Jam right?) I've been to a couple shows where there's been some rowdy people. Honestly they don't last the night and I really don't think it can be that enjoyable especially if you don't remember much if any of it. Im not saying there's anything wrong with having that kind of fun at concerts but you have to be aware of other people around you.
I was at Lolla 07 and the was this women there blatantly smoking at the "Kidsapooluza" stage. There's kids there lady, minors, not cool. You can have fun sure but, there's other people around you who are trying to enjoy it to. You have to respect that. You could get trashed out of your mind and just pop on a dvd at your house. That way you wouldn't be bothering everyone else and you'd be enjoying to.
I think what's also going on is this are solo dates. This is not a rock concert. Ed is playing acoustic. It's not about a social class system but rather what Ed maybe be feeling at the time. Each place is going to have its on vibe and it will depend on how he's feeling. Having said that, there will be peeps yelling. Ed deals with it, artists deal with, so we deal with it.
Im greatly looking forward to the show, This will be my first Ed solo show, and Im really looking forward to it.
